Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: The Horror of the 2 Great Cultivation Techniques

That night, Lin Yun decided not to practice the Wind Thunder Triple Flash right away. Instead, he chose to first focus on breaking through to the First Layer of his two major Cultivation Techniques.

He completed ten consecutive Great Cycles. But this time, Lin Yun didn’t stop. He kept circulating his energy. As time went on, a throbbing pain gradually grew in his meridians.

’Endure it, just endure it...’ he repeated to himself. Lin Yun completely ignored the throbbing pain in his meridians.

For a full four hours, Lin Yun never stopped circulating the two Cultivation Techniques. If someone could look inside his meridians at that moment, they would have made a clear discovery.

Two streams of Elemental Power coursed through his meridians. One was a brilliant Golden Light, the other a roiling, bloody mist. These were the manifestations of the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique.

Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Lin Yun’s forehead was beaded with sweat. Suddenly, his body jolted. At that very moment, both Cultivation Techniques broke through to the First Layer.

With both techniques having reached the First Layer, Lin Yun’s eyes fluttered open. But after a sharp glint flashed in them, he collapsed, unconscious. The extended breakthrough had completely exhausted his stamina.

He slept for a full day before slowly stirring awake. The moment he opened his eyes, he was hit by a foul stench emanating from his own body.

The breakthrough of the two Cultivation Techniques had cleansed his bones and meridians, expelling all impurities from his body. As a result, he now smelled absolutely awful.

After a thorough bath and changing into a fresh set of clothes, Lin Yun finally left his room. He went into the courtyard to feel the new power he’d gained from the breakthrough.

Lin Yun was extremely familiar with the War God Technique. It was, after all, his father’s own Cultivation Technique back in the Divine Realm. Breaking through to the First Layer brought about a qualitative change in its power.

Upon reaching the First Layer, the War God Technique could generate Battle Intent. Although it was very faint, the idea of a mere Martial Artist at the Fourth Layer of Opening possessing Battle Intent on the Celestial Spirit Continent was enough to scare anyone to death.

Battle Intent, also known as Combat Will, could affect an opponent’s mind. In battle, a Martial Artist with Battle Intent would grow more valiant the longer they fought, becoming fearless and overwhelming their opponent with sheer presence.

Circulating the War God Technique, a faint Battle Intent materialized around Lin Yun. Battle Intent was something that couldn’t be seen or touched, but it could definitely be felt.

’Not bad. It really produced Battle Intent,’ Lin Yun said with a smile after a moment of careful observation. Next, it was time to see what had changed with the Demon Emperor Technique. He was even more curious about its abilities than the War God Technique’s.

He circulated the Demon Emperor Technique, only to find that it hadn’t changed in the slightest. This discovery left Lin Yun a little frustrated. ’How can there be no change after breaking through to the First Layer?’

Refusing to give up, Lin Yun circulated the Demon Emperor Technique again and again, carefully sensing for any changes. But even after several attempts, he found nothing.

’Could this Cultivation Technique be... No, impossible! How could the Cultivation Technique of Demon Emperor Kun Xing be ordinary?’ A seed of doubt was planted, but Lin Yun quickly dismissed it.

With no leads, Lin Yun decided not to dwell on it. He figured he would find out eventually.

With the two Cultivation Techniques having broken through, the next step was to practice his Martial Skill. He had a week. Two days had already passed, leaving only five. Lin Yun didn’t expect to master the entire Wind Thunder Triple Flash; he would thank his lucky stars if he could just learn the first flash.

Taking out the manual for Wind Thunder Triple Flash, Lin Yun studied it carefully. As a Profound Level Upper Tier Martial Skill, it required a great deal of comprehension. Even for someone like Lin Yun, fully grasping it in a short time was impossible.

Lin Yun became lost in his attempt to comprehend the Wind Thunder Triple Flash. Just then, however, deep within his Dantian, a Blood Man began to form from the blood-red Elemental Power of the Demon Emperor Technique.

The Blood Man’s features were indistinct, but it held a blood-red spear in its hand. The spear danced continuously, its movements growing faster and more skillful by the second.

In the outside world, Lin Yun’s eyes remained tightly shut, his expression serene. But inside his Dantian, the Blood Man brandished its spear. Its movements were unmistakably the first flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash.

The Blood Man had already practiced the first flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash to the point of perfection, having clearly grasped its True Intent.

A full hour passed before Lin Yun opened his eyes. An intricate understanding of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash had flooded his mind, as if a master instructor had personally guided him, imparting every bit of their own comprehension.

’What...?’ He was utterly shocked. Lin Yun was baffled. This comprehension wasn’t his. He hadn’t even begun to practice the Wind Thunder Triple Flash, so how could he possess such a deep understanding of it?

It was only for the first flash, but it was enough to leave Lin Yun astonished.

He calmed himself and looked inward again, this time paying close attention to his own body. Soon enough, he saw it: the Blood Man in his Dantian, brandishing its spear. It was performing the first flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash.

’This is... this is just insane!’ Realizing it was because of the Demon Emperor Technique, Lin Yun’s eyes flew open. This ability was simply off the charts.

With a function like this, his learning speed for any Martial Skill in the future would be astronomical.

Others might take a year to reach Minor Achievement in a Martial Skill. But Lin Yun might only need half that time. This was simply heaven-defying! Not even a Demon Fiend could manage such a feat.

Excitement surged through him. Lin Yun now finally understood the insane power of the Demon Emperor Technique. With this Blood Man, he was now certain he could master the first flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash in five days. It might even be possible to comprehend its True Intent.

’I’ve struck gold! I’ve really struck gold this time!’ Lin Yun was overjoyed. He carefully absorbed the comprehension of the first flash being transmitted from the Blood Man—an understanding that already contained the True Intent of the move.

Feeling the comprehension being fed to him by the Blood Man, Lin Yun took out his Overlord Spear and began to practice.

His first attempt was clumsy. His second showed great improvement. By the third, he had captured its form and intent. After only three repetitions, Lin Yun could perfectly execute the first flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash.

Even if it was just the form, this was still an insane rate of progress. To achieve this much in only three tries... it was unbelievable.

”As expected of a comprehension that contains the True Intent of a Martial Skill,” Lin Yun murmured. ”This is like having a perfect Martial Skill instructor. I’ll never have to worry about grasping the True Intent of any skill again.”

The True Intent of a Martial Skill was something one could only grasp after practicing the skill to perfection and adding one’s own profound understanding.

For the same Martial Skill, the difference in power between someone who had grasped its True Intent and someone who hadn’t was night and day. Only by grasping the True Intent could one unleash a Martial Skill’s true power.

The more powerful the Martial Skill, the more critical the True Intent became. When it came to an Earth Level Martial Skill, if you failed to grasp its True Intent, its power might not even match that of a Profound Level Martial Skill.

This was because High Tier Martial Skills focused more on intent, conception, and comprehension, rather than rigid, cookie-cutter moves.

(Friends, we’re in the last two days! I’m begging for your support for Wufeng and for *Divine Emperor Demon Emperor*. Thank you so much!)
