Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Another Challenge

By simply releasing his aura, the Blood Refining Ancestor intimidated everyone present. It was clear that a Primordial Ocean Realm expert was truly the strongest in this region.

”I said it’s a draw, and a draw it is. Are you questioning me?” the Blood Refining Ancestor said coldly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. Hearing this, not a single one of the thousands of Martial Artists present dared to make a sound.

”Blood Refining Ancestor, can you lie through your teeth without even blushing?” While others didn’t dare to defy the Blood Refining Ancestor, Ye Yunlong, another Primordial Ocean Realm expert, spoke up to mock him.

In Ye Yunlong’s eyes, the outcome of the match didn’t matter at all. He simply wanted to take a jab at the Blood Refining Ancestor.

Sure enough, the Blood Refining Ancestor’s expression darkened upon hearing this. He looked at Ye Yunlong and bellowed, ”Ye Yunlong, you mock me again and again. Do you really think I’m afraid of you?”

”What? You want to fight? I’ll be happy to oblige.” Ye Yunlong didn’t back down an inch.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the stands grew tense. The two Primordial Ocean Realm experts glared at each other, looking as if they might come to blows at the slightest disagreement.

It seemed that ever since Lin Yun’s arrival in the Mysterious City, the three Primordial Ocean Realm experts had been appearing before the public more frequently, and the number of times they’d nearly come to blows had also increased.

”Alright, Brother Yunlong, let’s just call it a draw. We’ll each take our juniors and head back. This was meant to be a friendly gathering of martial artists, so let’s not make things unpleasant at the very end.” Seeing the two were about to fight, Iron Blood hurriedly tried to dissuade them. Although he was also quite displeased, there was nothing to be done. Who could have expected Lin Yun’s strength to so far exceed their predictions that even the Blood Refining Young Master was no match for him?

At Iron Blood’s words, both he and Ye Yunlong gave a cold snort. After all, a fight between them would likely be inconclusive. It was impossible for either of them to kill the other; at most, they could only vent their anger.

”Fine. For Iron Blood’s sake, I’ll let it go for today,” Ye Yunlong said coldly.

In just a few words, the three Primordial Ocean Realm experts had decided the outcome of the tournament. But Lin Yun, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke up.

”Wait a moment.” ’I finally managed to win, and the treasures were just within my grasp. Who knew they’d declare it a draw in just a few words? Doesn’t that mean the treasures I’ve won are about to slip through my fingers?’

”Lin Yun, what is it now?” Already in a foul mood, Iron Blood’s tone was icy as he heard Lin Yun’s interruption.

”Everyone saw that I won this match. On what grounds is it a draw?” Lin Yun said, looking directly at Iron Blood, neither servile nor overbearing.

The moment he spoke, everyone in the crowd held their breath. ’This Young Master Yun must have nerves of steel!’ they thought.

”Hmph! Lin Yun, don’t think you can do as you please just because you have the Death Row Shelter behind you. Calling it a draw today is already giving you plenty of face. If you still don’t know what’s good for you, I’ll kill you right here and now. You’d better believe it!” Hearing this, the anger that the Blood Refining Ancestor had just suppressed flared violently once more.

Lin Yun looked at the Blood Refining Ancestor on the stage, his eyes showing no fear. ’With Ye Yunlong here, I don’t have to worry about the Blood Refining Ancestor killing me. But I can’t push it too far. After all, I don’t have the strength myself. Entrusting my life entirely to Ye Yunlong isn’t my style. It’s better to be in control of my own fate.’

”I’m not trying to do as I please. I just want to know who gets the treasures,” Lin Yun asked.

”Since it’s a draw, the stakes put up by each party will naturally be returned to their original owners,” Iron Blood replied.

”Then let me ask another question: What do I have to do to get those treasures?” Lin Yun pressed. It wasn’t that Lin Yun valued wealth over his life; these treasures were simply too important to him. ’Once I break through to the Fifth Layer of Opening Realm, I definitely won’t be able to stay by Ye Yunlong’s side anymore. I can fool him for a time, but not forever.’

At these words, Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor exchanged a look, a sharp glint flashing in both their eyes. They had thought their chance was lost for the day, but who knew Lin Yun would be so greedy for the treasures? Malicious thoughts began to stir in their minds once more.

A cold smile touched Iron Blood’s lips as a plan formed in his mind. Lin Yun wanted the treasures, but the power to choose was still in his own hands. ’I can’t be too obvious,’ he thought, ’or Lin Yun might refuse.’

He glanced toward the Wind Forest Sect Disciples. Among the ten of them, one was at the First Layer of Qi Sea Realm. ’If I send him to fight Lin Yun, maybe he won’t refuse.’

With this in mind, Iron Blood’s gaze toward Lin Yun softened. A smile played on his lips as he said, ”Lin Yun, this tournament was technically a draw. However, since you’ve made this request, we can agree to your terms.”

”However, treasures belong to the worthy. It wouldn’t be right for you to claim them without everyone’s approval.”

”Please speak plainly, Lord Iron Blood,” Lin Yun said directly.

”Good. As expected of a remarkable young hero. How about this, Lin Yun? We won’t make things difficult for you,” Iron Blood said with a smile. ”This is a Disciple from the Wind Forest Sect. His Cultivation is at the First Layer of Qi Sea Realm. If you can defeat him, all the treasures will be yours. What do you say?”

Hearing this, the crowd was completely dumbfounded. Fourth Layer of Opening Realm versus the First Layer of Qi Sea Realm? This wasn’t a fight on the same level at all. They were separated by an entire Great Realm!

”Iron Blood, have you gone mad? Pitting an Opening Realm Martial Artist against one from the Qi Sea Realm? Have you no shame?” Ye Yunlong was the first to object.

”Lin Yun, don’t agree! If you want treasures, I’ll give them to you. Come back with me now,” Ye Yunlong shouted to him.

”Brother Yunlong, don’t be so hasty,” Iron Blood said to Ye Yunlong. ”I’m not forcing him. Whether he agrees or not is his own choice. Let’s let Lin Yun decide.” As he spoke, he looked at Lin Yun with undisguised anticipation, hoping with all his heart that Lin Yun would accept.

Lin Yun didn’t answer right away. He was deep in thought, calculating his chances of victory.

’The War God Technique, the Demon Emperor Technique, the Flawless Flesh Body, my Martial Skills...’ As he carefully calculated his assets, Lin Yun realized with frustration that Martial Skills were his greatest weakness. ’Right now, I have no other Martial Skills besides the Tiger Roar Fist.’

’Damn it, am I just going to give up like this?’ Lin Yun felt a sense of helplessness, but he quickly devised a counter-plan.

”I can agree to your terms, but I have one condition,” Lin Yun said, looking at Iron Blood once more.

”Name your condition, go on!” Hearing Lin Yun agree, Iron Blood’s spirits soared. Lin Yun was walking right into his trap.

”Postpone the match for one week,” Lin Yun said, laying out his plan. ”The stakes will be the same treasures. But if I lose, I’ll hand over my entire inheritance to you. How does that sound?”

At these words, Iron Blood hesitated. One week... He didn’t agree right away. He subconsciously glanced over at the Blood Refining Ancestor, only to see that he too was carefully considering the offer.
