Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

In the skies above the Northern Domain, a jagged black rift slowly tore open.

The “Demon Eye,” after more than ten days, had opened once again.

The Alien Race had arrived.

High in the sky.

Luo Zhan watched the rift widen, his expression unchanging, but his eyes held the heavy weight of an impending storm.

He turned his head to look at the tiny mosquito beside him.

“The great war has begun.”

His voice was low, yet exceptionally clear.

“From this moment on, I grant you the authority to act at your own discretion.”

“Do what you think is best. You don’t need to report to anyone.”

Chu Sheng flapped his wings, letting out a soft buzz in response.

He understood Luo Zhan’s meaning.

This was the greatest show of trust and freedom he could be given.

Luo Zhan said no more. With a flicker, his body transformed into a black shadow, instantly reappearing on the command platform of the steel wall below.

His voice, amplified by an Array, echoed across the entire defensive line.

“All troops! Prepare to engage the enemy!”

Countless members of the Alien Race charged down menacingly.

It seemed no different from before.

But a sharp glint flashed in Luo Zhan’s eyes. He noticed immediately… that there were no particularly powerful High-Tier Alien Race members in this invading army.

“Fire!”

At Luo Zhan’s command.

Hundreds of massive Spiritual Energy cannons on the city walls let out a deafening roar.

Countless thick beams of Energy tore through the wind and snow, smashing violently into the Alien Race’s formation.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The light of explosions flashed one after another across the ice plains, instantly vaporizing large swaths of the Alien Race.

“CHARGE!!”

The gates of Black Iron City opened, and the Northern Domain’s defenders surged out like a tide.

The two sides instantly clashed in a bloody melee.

The sounds of battle cries, agonizing screams, and the clash of weapons once again played out across the ice plains.

The battle reached a fever pitch from the very beginning.

But anyone with a discerning eye could see that the Alien Race’s offensive this time was indeed somewhat weak.

Both their numbers and their quality were significantly weaker than expected.

Inside the central command tent, Li Zhantian and the others watched the battle on a light screen, none of them moving.

The tens of thousands of elite soldiers they had brought with them remained hidden behind the defensive line, not revealing the slightest hint of their presence.

If you’re going to put on a show, you have to commit to it fully.

Just as expected.

Everything was exactly as the intelligence Chu Sheng brought back had described.

The Alien Race was putting on an act.

They were using a seemingly fierce but actually weak offensive to lull the Human Race into a false sense of security.

「On the battlefield.」

Chu Sheng didn’t have the leisure to watch them act.

Like a diligent scavenger, he zipped back and forth above the chaotic battlefield.

Wherever there were Alien Race corpses, he would dive in.

One after another, the still-warm bodies of the Alien Race vanished into thin air.

[Ding! Fierce Soldier Level Alien Race corpse reclaimed. Life Essence +1000]

[Ding! Warrior Level Alien Race corpse reclaimed. Life Essence +2000]

[Ding! Reclaiming…]

The system notifications spammed his mind relentlessly.

’So satisfying!’

’The Life Essence from a single corpse isn’t much, but the sheer quantity makes up for it!’

’This entire battlefield is my personal all-you-can-eat buffet!’

The battle lasted for less than two hours.

The ice plains were already covered in the severed limbs of the Alien Race, their green blood dyeing the white snow a grotesque color.

Just then.

A shrill shriek came from the rear of the Alien Race army.

It was the signal to retreat.

The Alien Race members who were still charging didn’t hesitate for a moment. They immediately turned and fled in disarray toward the Demon Eye in the sky, like a receding tide.

The Human Race forces gave a token chase for a while before stopping.

Soon, all the Alien Race members had retreated into the spatial channel.

The Demon Eye in the sky also slowly closed, almost disappearing into the night.

In this battle, the Human Race had won a great victory.

On the city walls, cheers erupted from those who had survived the calamity.

But none of the high-ranking commanders were smiling.

Their faces were etched with solemnity.

Because they all knew this was just the appetizer.

The main course could arrive at any moment.

「On the battlefield.」

The work of cleaning up the battlefield had already begun.

Chu Sheng was still “picking up trash.”

He opened his panel and glanced at the data for the [Nether Flame Insect Nest].

[Nether Flame Insect Nest—Current Life Essence: 21,500,000]

He had gained over ten million Life Essence from this single battle.

’I’m rich!’

’Just a little more, and I can give the Insect Race army in the Insect Nest a massive group upgrade!’

Inside and outside the first line of defense.

Tens of thousands of warriors silently replenished their Qi Blood Spiritual Power, repaired their weapons, and replaced their ammunition.

Everyone remained silent, awaiting the arrival of the Alien Race’s true offensive.

However.

An hour passed.

Two hours passed.

Until the sky turned fish-belly white at the horizon, heralding the arrival of a new day.

There was still no sign of the Demon Eye in the sky reopening.

The Alien Race’s second wave of attack was long overdue.

A sense of unease and anxiety began to spread through the army.

“What’s going on? Why haven’t the Alien Race attacked yet?”

“Could it be… the intelligence was fake?”

Voices of doubt began to surface, growing more numerous.

It even reached the point of shaking the army’s morale.

Time passed, second by second, minute by minute.

Until the sun was high overhead.

The Alien Race’s second wave of attack still hadn’t come!

This time, it wasn’t just the low-ranking soldiers. Even the high-ranking commanders were growing restless.

「Inside the central command tent.」

The atmosphere was oppressive to the extreme.

Luo Zhan sat in the main seat, not saying a word.

Below him, the faces of the reinforcements—Li Zhantian, Tie Mulan, and Man Gu—were quite unsightly.

“Marshal Luo.”

In the end, it was Man Gu, the most hot-tempered of the three, who spoke first.

He slammed his palm on the table with a dull THUD.

“We trusted you, Marshal Luo! That’s why we brought our most elite brothers here without a second thought, risking punishment from the Military Department and blitzing tens of thousands of kilometers to provide support!”

“But what is the meaning of this?!”

“I’m only just now finding out that the source of your so-called ’highest crisis’ intelligence was actually a mosquito?!”

Tie Mulan from the Desert West Combat Zone also spoke up, her voice cold and hoarse:

“Marshal Luo, a Seventh-Grade mosquito managed to infiltrate a heavily guarded Alien Race military base all by itself, eavesdrop on their core operational plans, and then return completely unharmed?”

“Forgive my bluntness, but that sounds even more absurd than a myth.”

It wasn’t that they didn’t trust Luo Zhan, but this matter truly defied common sense.

Every one of them was a commander in charge of their own region, and they knew full well how terrifying and cunning the Alien Race was.

How could a tiny mosquito possibly accomplish something that even an Emperor Realm expert wouldn’t dare to attempt lightly?

Among the three, only Li Zhantian remained silent.

Man Gu, however, grew more agitated as he spoke, standing up and pacing back and forth inside the tent.

“We expended who knows how many resources just to rush over here! And forget that—our own combat zones are now defensively vulnerable due to the troop transfers, facing immense risk!”

“And the result? We’ve waited here for a day and a night, and we haven’t seen a single hair of an Alien Race member!”

“Marshal Luo! I need an explanation! Otherwise, I can’t face my brothers under my command!”

Faced with their questioning, Luo Zhan opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.

Just then.

The tent’s communication Array suddenly lit up.

A light screen was projected, and Qin Zhen’s cold face appeared before them.

The moment he appeared, he immediately went on the offensive against Luo Zhan:

“Marshal Luo, how about it? Was my judgment wrong, or were you, Luo Zhan, wrong?”

“Where is the Alien Race army? Where are the Emperor-level experts?”

“For the sake of some absurd intelligence, you unilaterally activated the highest survival alert, throwing the entire Great Xia into a panic! Just you wait to face the judgment of a military tribunal!”

“And that mosquito! It must also come with us to undergo the most stringent interrogation!”

Every one of Qin Zhen’s words was like a vicious slap across Luo Zhan’s face.

Then, his gaze shifted to Li Zhantian and the other two. His tone changed as he issued a command.

“Li Zhantian, Tie Mulan, Man Gu! In my capacity as the acting minister of the Military Department, I order you to immediately! Right now! Lead your troops back to your original combat zones! In case of unforeseen circumstances!”

Luo Zhan’s fists were clenched tightly under the table.

He wanted to retort but could find no reason to do so.

The facts were right in front of him.

The Alien Race hadn’t come.

He had no reason to forcibly keep these reinforcements here any longer.

「Meanwhile.」

On the ice plains.

Chu Sheng hovered in mid-air, looking up at the calm sky, also feeling a bit strange.

’Something’s not right.’

’According to the plan I overheard, the Alien Race should have launched their all-out assault by now.’

’Where did things go wrong?’

Chu Sheng’s mind raced.

Soon, he thought of a possibility.

’Could it be that when I forcibly activated the spatial channel that day to make an early escape, I aroused the suspicion of the Purple Nether Demon Lord?’

’That’s right! It must be!’

’That old monster definitely got suspicious, which is why he deliberately delayed the time of the attack.’

But!

Chu Sheng firmly believed that the Alien Race would definitely attack!

They had prepared for this plan for so long; it was impossible for them to give it up so easily over a mere sliver of doubt.

What’s more, the spatial channel in that rocky peak forest base could only lead to this one coordinate point in the Northern Domain.

They had amassed such a massive army. If they weren’t going to attack, were they just going to keep it around for the New Year?

Therefore, they would definitely come!
