Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

The Northern Domain, on the Hundred-Mile Ice Field.

Chu Sheng narrowed his eyes, watching the young man’s receding figure until it vanished.

’Interesting.’

For a moment, Chu Sheng was actually a little interested in this kid.

But that was all it was—just a flicker of interest.

Right now, he was far more interested in the corpses below!

Chu Sheng looked away, his attention returning to the “treasures” scattered across the ground.

This was the first time he had truly come into contact with the physical form of a member of the Alien Race.

The so-called Evil God from before was merely a partially descended will.

As for the one from the Celestial Trace Abyss… that was an Outer Realm Fierce Beast, different from these members of the Alien Race. It was more akin to an Outer Heaven Demon Beast.

So, that raised a question.

The Alien Race was neither human nor Demon Beast.

’What can I absorb from them?’

’Qi Blood, Mental Power, Evolution Points, Life Essence.’

’Which of these four main stats?’

However, he hadn’t encountered a living member of the Alien Race yet.

As for these stone-cold dead Alien Race corpses before him, Chu Sheng couldn’t be bothered trying to absorb them. He figured he wouldn’t get anything out of them anyway.

’Then I’ll just recycle them!’

’It just so happens that this aligns with the goal of my trip—to increase my Life Essence!’

’That works!’

’I’ll recycle these Alien Race corpses, save up a certain amount, and then give my underlings in the Insect Nest a massive upgrade!’

Chu Sheng slowly landed beside the corpse of a member of the Alien Race.

It was a relatively intact corpse, standing about two meters tall. Its entire body was a grayish-brown, its skin covered in a hard carapace, with sharp barbs growing from its joints.

Although it was generally humanoid, with four limbs and a head, the head itself looked…

’Why does it look like an underdeveloped grasshopper?’

Its two huge compound eyes had lost their luster, its mouthparts were menacing, and it had two broken antennae on its head.

Chu Sheng rubbed his front legs together as a strange thought suddenly occurred to him.

’This thing looks so much like an insect. You could even call it a large, bipedal bug.’

’In that case, would my Monarch’s Suppression Skill have any effect on these guys?’

’If it does… then whenever I run into the Alien Race in the future, won’t I have an overwhelming advantage?’

“Heh heh, I’ll find a live one to test it on later.”

From what he knew about the Alien Race…

An individual of the Alien Race, simply by reaching adulthood, would possess the strength of a human in the High Grade Realm.

That meant they didn’t have to practice Cultivation at all; upon reaching adulthood, they possessed the strength of the Seventh to Ninth Grade! They were born with the ability to draw upon the Power of Heaven and Earth, or in other words, the Energy of the cosmos.

Of course, some researchers specializing in the Alien Race had deduced from dissecting their corpses that they didn’t reach adulthood at eighteen. It took much longer—perhaps even several decades.

Calculated that way, the Human Race wasn’t actually that much weaker, right?

Wrong!

Dead wrong!

First, every single member of the Alien Race attained the High Grade Realm upon reaching adulthood. For the Human Race, however, not even one in ten could cultivate to the High Grade Realm!

Second, the Alien Race possessed High Grade Realm strength without needing to practice Cultivation.

But… what if they did practice Cultivation?

This brought up another of the Alien Race’s innate talents! They were born with a higher degree of Comprehension for the Heaven and Earth Origin Law!

Their Comprehension of the Laws could even be passed down through heredity!

It wasn’t impossible for an Alien Race member with a superior Bloodline to be born having already grasped one of the Heaven and Earth Laws!

Therefore, the overall strength of the Alien Race could be said to completely overwhelm the Human Race!

For now, the only saving grace was that the number of aliens who had arrived on Blue Star was far, far lower than the human population.

So, what about the Alien Race’s strength level classifications?

Humanity’s classifications for the Alien Race, from lowest to highest, were: Fierce Soldier, Warrior, War General, Lord Level, Monarch Level, and Emperor Level.

These corresponded to the human ranks of Seventh-Grade, Eighth-Grade, Ninth Grade, King Realm, Emperor Realm, and Emperor Realm, respectively.

And above the Emperor Level, the Alien Race had another legendary realm—the Divine Level!

Meanwhile, the strongest known member of the Human Race was only at the Emperor Realm.

The lack of a Divine Level was another fatal disadvantage for humanity.

This meant that in terms of top-tier combat power, humanity was completely outmatched by the Alien Race.

…

Chu Sheng observed the Alien Race corpses below him; most were Fierce Soldier and Warrior Level. ’Buzz… let’s try a Fierce Soldier Level corpse first.’

Chu Sheng flew over to one of the Alien Race corpses and activated his ability with a thought.

BOOM!

A ball of golden-red flame materialized from thin air, instantly engulfing the corpse.

Divine Dao True Flame!

Under the divine fire’s refinement, the tough alien carapace melted away like ice and snow, and its rancid flesh was rapidly refined and purified.

In the blink of an eye, the massive corpse vanished, transformed into pure Energy.

[Ding! Successfully recycled one Alien Race (Fierce Soldier Level) corpse!]

[Life Essence +1000]

Chu Sheng looked at the numbers on his system panel and pursed his lips.

’A thousand?’

’That doesn’t seem like much.’

After all, recycling a Seventh-Grade Demon Beast also yielded eight or nine hundred points.

’Whatever. Even a mosquito’s leg is still meat.’

Chu Sheng quickly adjusted his attitude.

’After all, the ground is covered in corpses. There’s more than enough to go around!’

He turned his gaze to another corpse not far away.

That corpse was clearly a size larger than the “grasshopper.” Its carapace had a metallic, deep-black sheen, and even in death, the aura it exuded was a great deal stronger than the last one.

’This is a Warrior Level! It corresponds to a human’s Eighth-Grade Realm!’

“Here goes!”

The Divine Dao True Flame swept over it once more.

[Ding! Successfully recycled one Alien Race (Warrior Level) corpse!]

[Acquired Life Essence: 2000 points!]

’Whoa! Now that’s more like it!’

Chu Sheng’s compound eyes lit up.

’Two thousand points! It doubled!’

This was much more profitable than hunting Eighth-Grade Demon Beasts.

Of course, not every corpse yielded this much.

Chu Sheng soon discovered that the system’s recycling followed a “basic law”—the conservation of energy.

If a corpse had been beaten to a pulp, or if the being had burned its life-source Essence Blood to self-destruct before death, the recycling value was greatly diminished, sometimes dropping to less than a third of the original amount.

’A waste! What a complete waste!’

Chu Sheng’s heart ached as he looked at the remains of an Alien Race member that had clearly self-destructed.

「For the next few hours.」

On this cold and grim battlefield in the Northern Domain, where hailstones the size of basketballs rained down, an extremely bizarre scene unfolded.

A black, palm-sized mosquito weaved through the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, braving the endless downpour of hail like a diligent little honeybee.

Wherever there was a corpse, his golden-red flame would follow.

’This one’s mine!’

’That one’s mine too!’

’They’re all mine!’

Chu Sheng was completely immersed in the thrill of “picking up free money.”

[Life Essence +1000]

[Life Essence +2000]

[Life Essence +800]

The system notifications rang out in a frenzy!

This feeling of picking up money just by bending over, with no risk and no effort, was simply too exhilarating.

Before he knew it, he had completely cleared several square kilometers of the battlefield.

Chu Sheng stopped to check his haul.

Counting his previous reserves and adding the spoils from his frantic, hours-long sweep, the total amount of Life Essence he had recycled was around a full one million!

[Current Life Essence: 1,055,000]
