Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

What?

Luo Zhan froze for a moment, then seemed to remember something.

Qin Zhen was indeed a member of the Qin Family, one of the Ten Great Clans.

And the Ten Great Clans were currently hunting Gu Yuexi and the Divine Mosquito.

“Qin Zhen, this is not the time to get caught up in your personal affairs!

“This is a matter of life and death for Great Xia and the entire Human Race!”

“Is that your reason?”

Luo Zhan struggled to contain his explosive anger.

「On the other side of the video call.」

Qin Zhen sneered.

“Marshal Luo, do you really think headquarters is that narrow-minded?”

“Regarding the rejection of your request, it wasn’t my decision alone. It was a joint decision made by several high-ranking members of the general command during an emergency meeting.”

“Marshal Luo, I suggest you watch your tone.”

“Since you still don’t understand, allow me to spell it out for you!”

Qin Zhen held up three fingers, his tone grave.

“First.”

“According to your report, the source of this so-called ’top-secret intelligence’ is a mere Seventh-Grade mosquito?”

“Luo Zhan, has your time in the Northern Domain made you stupid? A Seventh-Grade Contracted Beast infiltrated deep into Alien Race territory for over ten days, uncovered this kind of core secret, and then escaped completely unscathed?”

“Do you take the Alien Race for blind men? Or do you take everyone in the Military Department for fools?”

Luo Zhan was about to retort, but Qin Zhen gave him no chance, immediately raising a second finger.

“Second.”

“Even if we were to grant that it somehow managed all that, the Military Department must still consider the possibility of betrayal.”

“After all, it’s not a human. It’s just a Demon Beast, and a Demon Beast that is wanted by the Ten Great Clans, no less.”

“Third.”

“Even if we ignore the first two points.”

“We must also consider whether this might be a conspiracy by the Alien Race.”

“What if this mosquito was deliberately allowed to return? What if the intelligence it brought back is false information the Alien Race wanted us to have?”

“The Northern Domain Combat Zone is important, but so are the other regions.”

“As for the Emperor Realm experts, they are our ultimate strategic weapons and cannot be mobilized lightly!”

Qin Zhen’s speech was well-reasoned and logically sound.

Even the few generals standing behind Luo Zhan couldn’t help but fall silent.

He had a point.

It was indeed too risky.

If it really was a trap set by the Alien Race, the consequences would be nothing short of devastating.

Mobilizing Emperor Realm experts and armies from other combat zones… it was a decision that couldn’t be made based on the word of a single mosquito.

A brief, dead silence fell over the command tent.

“Marshal, I don’t mean to question you.”

“But what if… what if the Divine Mosquito really was being used?”

Only Chu Sheng, hovering in mid-air, stared coldly at the image of Qin Zhen on the screen.

Heh.

’This old man,’ he thought. ’Everything he just said boils down to one thing: I, Lord Mosquito, am not trustworthy. The intel I risked my life to bring back isn’t enough for the Military Department’s general command. It’s not worth them taking a risk.’

’Fine.’

’Then I guess all my work was for nothing.’

’Let them do whatever the hell they want.’

Chu Sheng couldn’t even be bothered to explain himself. He was ready to just leave.

Just then,

Luo Zhan slammed his palm down on the table, leaving a deep dent in the specially made alloy surface.

“Enough!”

His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Qin Zhen.

“There is no ’what if’!”

“I was the one who sent the Divine Mosquito. I trust it completely!”

“Qin Zhen, you’re rejecting my request for aid? Fine.”

“In that case.”

“Then, in my capacity as the supreme commander of the Northern Domain’s first line of defense, I will now activate the ’Maximum Survival Crisis’ alert!”

As soon as he said this,

not only did the faces of the generals behind him change drastically, but even Qin Zhen, on the other end of the screen, finally showed a change in expression.

The “Maximum Survival Crisis” alert.

This was the final trump card in the hands of each combat zone’s marshal, but it was also a double-edged sword.

Once activated, it signified that the combat zone had reached its final, desperate moment of life and death.

This alert would bypass the Military Department’s general command and be sent directly to the communication terminals of every combat zone in Great Xia, every Emperor Realm expert, and even every citizen!

It was tantamount to a plea for help to the entire world!

Any combat zone that received the message could dispatch troops to provide support without needing approval from the Military Department.

But the price…

If it was later proven to be a false report, or that the crisis was not as severe as claimed,

the marshal who issued the alert would face the most severe court-martial, and could even be executed on the spot!

“Luo Zhan! You dare!”

Qin Zhen shot to his feet, bellowing furiously.

“You’re gambling with the safety of all of Great Xia!”

“If something goes wrong, you can’t bear the consequences! And that damn mosquito behind you can bear them even less!”

Qin Zhen’s icy gaze pierced through the screen, landing on Chu Sheng like a nail.

Chu Sheng, who had been about to leave, now moved.

He flapped his wings and slowly flew right in front of the camera.

He stared at the fuming Qin Zhen on the screen, then slowly raised one of his hairy forelegs.

The middle joint of the leg bent and straightened, pointing upward.

A textbook-perfect, internationally recognized gesture of friendship.

“BUZZ (Idiot).”

Then, Chu Sheng disconnected the call.

’Why waste any more words on that old geezer?’ he thought. ’If there was something like a “Maximum Survival Crisis” alert, you should have said so earlier.’

He was fairly satisfied with Luo Zhan’s attitude, so he decided to stick around and see what happened.

’As long as we can get people to come, the Northern Domain might just be defensible!’

「Meanwhile.」

Luo Zhan watched Chu Sheng’s action and let out a rare smile.

But his smile quickly vanished, replaced by an even graver expression.

He walked slowly to a corner of the secret room, placed his palm on a box made of a super-alloy,

and as his palm print was identified, a red button slowly rose from within.

Luo Zhan took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

In his more than ten years of guarding the Northern Domain, this was the first time he had ever opened this box.

The next second, his eyes snapped open.

Then, without hesitation, he reached for the button to press… huh?

A red light began flashing wildly inside the secret room. How was it already pressed?

Luo Zhan whipped his head down, only to discover that Chu Sheng, the mosquito, had already pressed the button for him.

“BUZZ, BUZZ (Seriously, calling for backup, and you’re this slow about it.)”

Luo Zhan gave a wry smile and said nothing more.

The message was out.

But would help arrive in time? How many would come?

Everything was an unknown.

…

The news from the Northern Domain exploded like a nuclear bomb among Great Xia’s upper echelons.

Maximum Survival Crisis!

These few words, glowing a deep, furious red, appeared on the tactical tablets of every combat zone marshal.

「Eastern Combat Zone.」

On a command tower battered by the howling sea wind,

a white-haired old general stared at the information on his screen, his brow tightly furrowed.

“That kid Luo Zhan might be a bit of a maverick usually, but he’s never been ambiguous when it comes to matters of principle.”

“He would never do something this crazy unless he was truly at the end of his rope.”

The old general pondered for two seconds, then waved his hand decisively.

“Relay my orders! Have Li Zhantian take the Third Special Combat Division and support the Northern Domain immediately!”

The adjutant hesitated. “But the Military Department…”

The old general glared. “When a general is in the field, he need not follow all of the sovereign’s commands! If anything happens, I’ll take the fall! Now go!”

“Yes, sir!”

…

「Southern Border Combat Zone, deep within the Hundred Thousand Mountains.」

A bare-chested, heavily built man covered in totem tattoos was currently wrestling with an Emperor Realm Giant Elephant Demon Beast.

His wristband vibrated.

He glanced at it, then grinned, revealing a set of gleaming white teeth.

“Yo, the kid up north is calling for help? It’s that serious, huh?”

“We’ve gotta go join in on this excitement.”

…

「Northwest Combat Zone…」

Although the Military Department had not issued a formal deployment order, and although Qin Zhen had subsequently sent out a prohibition demanding that soldiers from every military region not leave their combat zones without authorization,

these marshals, who had fought on the front lines for years, shared an unspoken understanding.

At this moment,

nearly all four major combat zones acted without hesitation. While maintaining a core defensive force, they all dispatched elite troops to reinforce the Northern Domain!

The battle for the Northern Domain’s survival.

was about to begin.
