Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 901: Chapter 901: Going to the Capital

After they finished moving everything, all four were drenched in sweat.

Jiang Feifei massaged her dad’s back, which made Old Yang envious. Shi Jing immediately went over to help him massage his back as well.

Wei Kaiyun and Shang Zhenkun, along with the three kids, stayed in one compartment, while the three of them were next door.

They missed lunch, so anyone who was hungry just ate some snacks. They looked forward to having dinner in the dining car.

But the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment; the food in the dining car was typical of the local cuisine. The adults were fine, but Shi Jing really didn’t like it.

Wei Kaiyun had no choice but to make milk powder for the kids and serve them some snacks, though it would take at least four days and three nights to get there.

Jiang Feifei had lots of food in her space, but couldn’t take it out. Seeing He’s painful expression made her very worried.

However, the next morning, Shi Jing went to the dining car with them and managed to eat breakfast.

In this way, they got off the train at night four days later.

Wei Kaiyun was still grateful it was nighttime; if it had been daytime, the sheer amount of stuff would have been too conspicuous.

”Wait a minute, I’ll go find a vehicle. This won’t work; we can’t carry everything in one trip. Let’s hire a vehicle to take it directly to the hotel,” Old Yang said, looking at the stuff on the ground and the three little kids, feeling really worried.

After about an hour, there were hardly any people left at the train station, and Old Yang came back.

He found a tricycle; he and Chaoyang Dongxiang went with it to transport part of the stuff first. Wei Kaiyun stayed to watch the rest, while Shang Zhenkun took the three kids to the hotel.

After nearly two busy hours, they finally lay down on the beds in the hotel.

Jiang Feifei thought to herself that she must repay Chaoyang and Dongxiang in the future. As for the others, they were family and wouldn’t be treated unfairly.

At six-thirty, Wei Kaiyun, Chaoyang, and Dongxiang went out to eat and then headed straight to the chemical factory.

The raw materials here were readily available; they showed all the proof and paid the money, so the factory director arranged a truck for them.

This put Wei Kaiyun in a much better mood. Just one more chemical factory to go.

Three hours later, the truck was loaded, but there was still half of the space empty. The three of them asked the driver to pick up the others from the hotel.

The three kids and Shang Zhenkun sat in the compartment. Fortunately, they were small; otherwise, only one person could have fit lying down, and there wouldn’t have been enough room for so many people.

Wei Kaiyun and the others sat directly in the back. It was really cold. The four of them were wearing coats and wrapped in blankets.

It took two days to get from here to the chemical factory in another city, and it was truly torturous.

Chaoyang and Dongxiang, along with Jianbin and the three little ones, finally experienced the hardships of traveling.

But after they got here, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. It truly wasn’t easy.

They had ready stock here too, so they just paid the money and picked up the goods.

”You two should head directly back to the village. This is a letter for your Teacher Jiang. We’re heading to the Capital to visit Jianbin’s dad.”

The two nodded, and Wei Kaiyun gave each of them five hundred yuan, advising them to spread it across different places to stay safe.

After they left in the truck, Old Yang went straight to the train station; the direct train was leaving the next afternoon. Since it was just a one-day wait, he bought sleeper tickets for the next day. This time, he only bought four, so the kids would have to squeeze in to avoid being separated.

This time, they only brought their own change of clothes, while everything else was loaded onto the truck.

But there was still quite a bit, as it was winter and the clothes were thick.

This time, Shi Jing finally got to eat the food he liked and was moved to tears. He looked like a poor little animal.

”Uncle Yang, Uncle Wei, are we going to find my dad?”

”Yes, we’re going to see him.”

”But he said he was going to find me.”

”That’s okay. You haven’t been back in a long time, so let’s go see your dad.”

Jianbin, of course, was happy. The three kids huddled together, chatting about where they wanted to see and what they wanted to eat.

In the afternoon, Shang Zhenkun still took the three to the recycling center, but they didn’t find anything good.

So they went to the department store, bought a lot of snacks and fruit candy, and also bought some storybooks to pass the time in the car.

At night, everyone took a bath, changed their clothes, and washed the frozen ones slowly on the train.

After the bath, they were refreshed. After dinner, the kids didn’t chatter as usual; they each lay down to sleep.

Wei Kaiyun and Old Yang shared a room. The two discussed what to do.

”I won’t be at ease unless I personally deliver it to the leader,” Wei Kaiyun sighed.

”But getting close won’t be easy for us.”

”I’m worried too. Let’s ask Old Han’s opinion. Although he’s neutral, if we ask, he won’t brush us off. He’ll surely speak the truth.”

”Alright, it’s your decision.”

The two discussed many things, and the future of the leadership was also uncertain.

The next morning, after waking up, the two didn’t wake the kids since they were exhausted from the last few days.

Since the train was at two in the afternoon, they had time in the morning.

They took a stroll around the department store, bought a lot of local snacks, and bought eggs. Back at the hotel, they asked the staff to boil them, offering twenty cents for two eggs as a tip.

They had lunch at a restaurant where the cuisine was a bit Northern, so the kids didn’t have any difficulty adjusting.

After lunch, they returned to the hotel, packed all their luggage, and the whole family walked to the train station.

This time, Jiang Feifei didn’t refuse to let her dad carry her. Actually, she didn’t really like it, but seeing his eager eyes, Jiang Feifei conceded.

Wei Kaiyun hugged his daughter with a smile on his face. The two little ones were already used to it, and not even Old Yang could bear to look at his brother, feeling it an eyesore.

Beside the train station, someone was sneaking peanuts and sunflower seeds, which Wei Kaiyun bought so the kids could gnaw on them in the car to kill time.

Everyone was accustomed to Wei Kaiyun spoiling the children by now.

They spent money on platform tickets this time, so they wouldn’t have to squeeze through, given that the kids were small and could easily be bumped.

After they boarded, finding their sleeper compartment, they settled in briefly. The kids lay on the lower bunk reading books.

Shang Zhenkun and Old Yang took the upper bunks, leaving Wei Kaiyun to look after the kids.

The journey was monotonous, and the kids didn’t want to go out. They only went outside for a walk when they reached major stations.

Jianbin became increasingly excited. Uncle Wei said they’d reach the Capital in a few days; then he could see his dad.

Chaoyang and Xiang Dong also arrived at the village. Along the way, they didn’t suffer much and even learned how to drive a truck. Since both could drive tractors, learning to drive a truck was easy, which was why they got home early, taking turns driving with the third person. The driver was quite bold, but since they got along well, almost sworn brothers, teaching friends to drive was a small matter.
