Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 932: Chapter 932: Choices and Sacrifices

Jing Chu looked at her brother in silence. He finally had something he longed for. So she tried to persuade him, ”Brother, if you want to go, then go. Li Xue already agreed to ask Village Chief Li. If I can actually transfer to Aunt Jiang’s side, what are you worried about?

Besides, if you really enlist and Village Chief Li can’t arrange it, isn’t there still Aunt Jiang and Uncle Wei? Also, Uncle Yang and Sister Xiaoli, I definitely won’t suffer any grievances.”

”No need, we’ll just stay here, always be prepared, and wait to go to college.”

”Brother, I’m afraid you’ll regret it in the future.”

”I won’t regret it. I’m not alone; I have you and Dad. I can’t let you worry because of me. Don’t worry, I’ve thought it through.”

At this time, Guodong was a bit calmer.

Jing Chu felt unwell inside. Her brother liked joining the military, and it’s because of her that he gave up his passion.

”Don’t overthink it, I also like a stable life.

Besides, Dad might not agree, so what’s there for us to struggle with?

Alright, I’ll go tell Yang Zhongyi.”

Jing Chu watched her brother go out, then she stood up and went to Jiang Xinyu’s room.

”Jing Chu, what’s wrong? Why do you have that expression?”

”Aunt Jiang, just now my brother asked me if I wanted to join the military.”

”Join the military? What’s your thought?”

”I’m not going, but my brother likes it.”

Zhao Xiaoli lounged on the kang, ”Jing Chu, better not let Guodong go, it’s so dangerous.”

”Jing Chu, what’s your thought?” Jiang Xinyu asked.

”Aunt Jiang, I don’t want my brother to regret it in the future. For me, he definitely won’t go to join the military.

But I don’t like it; I don’t like being a medical soldier or an art soldier.

Actually, even if we both go, we can’t be together.”

”Your thoughts are correct, but Guodong has his own ideas. Go tell him if he really wants to go, I won’t stop him, but it needs your dad’s approval, and I’ll take care of you, you’ll be by my side.”

Jing Chu’s nose tingled, and her eyes reddened, ”Mm, I’ll go tell my brother.

Aunt Jiang, today, Li Xue said she would help ask Village Chief Li if my brother and I could transfer to your side.”

”If you two want, it can be arranged, don’t worry about it.”

”Mm,” Jing Chu nodded and went out.

”Xinyu, is this really okay?”

Jiang Xinyu sighed, ”I don’t know either. It’s dangerous, but there’s a saying, ’Regret for a few years after serving, regret a lifetime for not serving.’

Jing Chu’s worries are justified, just afraid that Guodong will regret.

But I know it’s very dangerous too. So let Lv Beiguang decide; if he really wants to go, I won’t stop him, nor will I give persuasive thoughts to Lv Beiguang.”

Zhao Xiaoli sighed, ”That’s true.”

”Not just the two of them, if Shi Jing wants to join in the future, I won’t interfere, neither stopping nor supporting.”

”Xinyu, raising kids is really worrisome.”

”Exactly, when they grow up, there are even more things to worry about.”

Jing Chu went straight to the living room, Wei Kaiyun looked at her.

”Brother, Aunt Jiang said she wouldn’t stop you. If you want to go, I’ll live by Aunt Jiang’s side.”

Guodong just said he wouldn’t go. Hearing his sister’s words, he stood up with a smile, ”I won’t go, don’t worry, regret might exist, but I have my choices.”

”Brother.”

Guodong patted Jing Chu’s shoulder, ”Don’t feel bad for me, I’ve really thought it through. Alright, go find Li Xue to play.”

Guodong coaxed Jing Chu to leave. Only then did he sit down again, his face no longer had the smile from before.

”Guodong, as long as you’ve thought it through, it’s fine. Since I’ve already made my decision, I’ll tell you my thoughts: I also don’t want you to go, you’re right, everyone needs to make their own choices.”

”Uncle Wei, I understand.”

Yang Zhongyi felt a bit regretful; his one word made them feel conflicted. He originally wanted to bring the little girl to his side. But now it’s become like this.

Jing Chu didn’t go out. She entered Jiang Xinyu’s room, slipped off her shoes, and climbed onto the kang to sit next to Jiang Xinyu.

Feeling very down, ”Aunt Jiang, my brother said he’s not going.”

”Not going is also good; achievements can be made in any field.”

”But I know he had a dream of joining the military since he was little. All because of me.”

”Alright, this matter is closed, it might not even happen, why think so much?”

”Aunt Jiang, can we go to college in the future?”

”Of course you can, you must have confidence; if three years don’t work, then five years; if five don’t work, then ten years.

Jing Chu, you must firmly believe there will be opportunities.”

”Ten years, what is ten years like? Ten years later, I’ll be almost twenty-six.”

”What’s wrong with twenty-six? College students can get married; even if you have a family and children by then, you can still go to college.”

”Then I’ll give myself ten years; if after ten years I still can’t pass the college entrance exam, I’ll give up.”

”You can’t give up; Jing Chu, why do you think I came here?”

”You came for Shi Jingfei and Uncle Wei.”

”Yes, you’re right, I came for family. But why am I still teaching you all and urging you to learn?

Because I know, there will definitely be opportunities in the future. So, no matter how long the time, don’t give up your ideals.”

”Mm, I understand.”

”Jing Chu, do you want to come over?”

Jing Chu nodded, ”Aunt Jiang, I want to be by your side, it makes me feel secure.”

”Okay, I’ll have Uncle Wei ask Village Chief Li, if he can’t arrange it, we’ll find another way, it’s not a problem to come over.”

Now Wei Kaiyun is already safe, and there’s no need to be so cautious. This matter can still be handled now.

”Then my sister and I also want to come over,” Zhao Xiaoli said. She’s timid and doesn’t feel comfortable without familiar people around.

”Alright, all of you can come,” Jiang Xinyu didn’t mind Zhao Xiaoli; it was all for Old Yang. Their personalities were different, hers being more of a delicate weakling.

”Aunt Jiang, I bought tiger hats for Shi Xian and Tingting.”

After saying this, she got off and went to grab them.

She took out three sets and handed one to Zhao Xiaoli.

”They’re really pretty. The craftsmanship is quite good,” Jiang Xinyu commented as she looked at the needlework.

Zhao Xiaoli also couldn’t stop playing with it, though her family had prepared some, none were this delicate.

”I can’t make it look like this, it’s beautiful.”

”Right, I can’t do it either, such skillful work. Dress the kids with these during the New Year.”

The men here just finished their tea, Yang Zhongyi stood up, ”Brother Han, Brother Wei, Brother Yang, I’m heading back. Guodong, if you need anything, feel free to come to me. You know the address.”

”Mm, I know, thanks, Brother Yang.”

”No problem, I didn’t do anything,” Yang Zhongyi, listening to Guodong calling him Brother Yang, felt a bit of a toothache. How should he be addressed in the future?
