Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 851: Chapter 851: Acceptance

”Isn’t it? What I can’t stand the most is the verbal abuse and physical harm. Though the villagers ignore us now, they don’t look down on us,” Wen Zhenzong said with a smile. This was the most genuine smile since the incident a few months ago.

The others nodded in agreement. They all felt the same way.

The three women understood what they were saying, but still felt pained. At their age, they shouldn’t have to endure such hardships.

Since they didn’t have bowls, they could only use their own lunchboxes. Which was actually pretty nice.

The wooden spoons and spatulas they bought weren’t as good as the iron ones they used before, but were still quite decent.

After lunch, they went to rest, while the three women had their own tasks. They were responsible for cleaning the livestock shed.

This was really tough for them. However, they knew they had to adapt; otherwise, who knows what awaited them.

Jiang Xinyu heard during lunch about the three troublemakers who had bought many things from the village.

”Xiao Jiang, do you think they can continue living here?”

”Yes, there are no bad people in our village, so living here really isn’t difficult.”

”They’re all quite old.”

”That’s just how it is. They were caught doing something wrong and now must pay the price.”

After lunch, Jiang Xinyu played with the two children for a while before lying down to rest.

There’s still class this afternoon. It’s really exhausting. She asked Li Yungui to observe, and if there’s a suitable person, let them start teaching the kids by winter.

This way, it’ll lighten her workload significantly.

During the afternoon self-study, Jiang Xinyu asked someone to call Li Yungui over.

”What’s up, Teacher Jiang?”

”Village Chief Li, what are the backgrounds of these people?”

”Two of them are university professors, two are researchers, one is a leader, and one is a doctor.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled, ”Village Chief Li, keep an eye on them. If their character is good, let them teach the kids in the classroom.

Also, our village can set up its own medical room.”

Li Yungui was considering this too. However, he hadn’t thought much about the teaching part.

”Teacher Jiang, are you planning not to teach anymore?”

”I will. At that time, we’ll divide the kids into classes based on their grades, so we won’t delay the learning of those who excel.”

Li Yungui thought this was a good plan. ”Alright, today the Captain told me that he observed them working. Although they’re not very efficient, their attitude is good and they don’t slack off.”

”Of course. Village Chief Li, if you’re kind to them, they’ll be obedient as long as they know how to be grateful.

But we must be careful with teachers, after all, it’s about teaching the kids.”

”I understand.”

Jiang Xinyu felt that her days of freedom were not far away. As long as their character wasn’t too poor, it should work out. After all, they’re university professors with a wealth of knowledge, which would benefit the kids too.

Life went on like this, and tomorrow Jiang Xinyu had to go to the county to pick up photos. Li Yungui had already decided to let the two professors start teaching. So, today was their first day teaching the students.

Jiang Xinyu suggested not rushing to divide the classes for now, letting the kids get used to the teaching style of the two professors first.

Wu Jiucheng and Zhu Mingbao had already found out that this young girl was a university student and a teacher here.

Jiang Xinyu respectfully greeted the two professors.

”Ms. Jiang, there’s no need for that. We’re honored to teach the students in such times.”

”Both teachers, the village kids are all here. My capabilities are limited, so I want to divide the classes, but I’m not sure how well the kids will accept you two.

So, Village Chief Li and I will attend today’s class to observe. You two can discuss and decide how to teach and divide the work.”

The two nodded. Having been teachers for decades, they understood this well.

A few days ago, Jiang Xinyu had already taught the kids the importance of independent thinking and not blindly following the crowd.

As a result, the kids didn’t show any rejection or disdain towards these ”troublemakers.”

This pleased Wu Jiucheng and Zhu Mingbao greatly. Kids are like blank slates, and it’s the perfect time to teach them right from wrong.

Xiao Jiang did an outstanding job. Not everyone can become successful through education, but at this stage, instilling proper values and life perspectives is crucial.

Jiang Xinyu and Li Yungui listened from the back as Wu Jiucheng taught math. Both agreed that professionals with a lifetime of teaching experience were indeed competent.

Zhu Mingbao’s language class was even more impressive, captivating Jiang Xinyu.

She had the idea to privately ask him to tutor Jing Chu and Guodong in language arts.

His skills, honed over a lifetime, were unparalleled.

In the afternoon, the two teachers continued teaching. The kids were indifferent to the change in teachers, as having someone to teach them was already satisfying enough.

After the afternoon class, Jiang Xinyu, Wu Jiucheng, and Zhu Mingbao went to the brigade office to discuss class division.

Li Yungui, Li Cunshan, and Li Yunqiang were there to listen in.

They finally decided to divide the kids by age into three classes: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

However, there was only one large classroom, making it challenging as the kids could easily be distracted by other classes.

After considering, Li Yungui suggested, ”We’ll separate them. Using adobe, we can create three classrooms in one day, no problem.”

Jiang Xinyu laughed, ”Alright, then the two teachers can make exam papers, give them a test, and then a day off, ensuring safety during the process.”

With the plan settled, Jiang Xinyu would have some free time the next day.

”Teachers, I’ll be going to the county tomorrow, so I’ll leave the kids in your capable hands.”

”Sure, we won’t let you down,” Wu Jiucheng replied with a smile, feeling encouraged by the prospect of teaching instead of laboring.

Zhu Mingbao nodded. He had gotten used to life in the village. Though the food wasn’t luxurious, it was filling enough.

It’s better to live well than to die poorly. Given this opportunity, he would make the most of his remaining energy.

With everything decided, they each went their separate ways. Li Yungui and the others split up to gather the adobe.

Jiang Xinyu returned home and suddenly remembered to find Zhao Xiaoli to ask if she needed to go to the hospital for a check-up.

So she quickly finished her dinner and drove to Jin Family Village.

By then, it was evening, and she arrived at Jin Family Village at 7 PM.

At that moment, Zhao Xiaoli and family had finished dinner and were getting ready to wash up.

Hearing the car, Zhao Xiaoli’s heart skipped a beat, but then she remembered it wasn’t her husband returning.
