Chapter 185: Chapter 185: The Seys Family’s Young Lady Recognizing Her Ancestors and Returning to the Clan

Arlo Seys nodded, looking at the girl surrounded by everyone on the sofa, ”Hello, welcome to the Seys Family. From now on, I am your brother.”

Nicole gave Arlo Seys a faint smile.

Enzo Seys was all smiles, obviously because his daughter was willing to come back to recognize her roots, which made him particularly happy. A hearty laugh escaped, ”I’m really happy that Nicole is willing to come back and acknowledge her roots. Over the years, I haven’t fulfilled my responsibilities as a father, but from now on, I’ll hold Nicole dearly and cherish her!” Enzo Seys looked at his daughter and suggested, ”How about you change your name to Nicole Seys? Acknowledging your roots is a big deal, and your dad will prepare a banquet to welcome you home.”

Nicole hesitated for a moment and then slowly shook her head, her voice gentle, ”I can take the Seys name, but there’s no need for a banquet. From now on, I’ll just change my name to Nicole Seys, but I will need your help with the paperwork for the household registration change.”

Enzo Seys waved it off with a smile, ”No trouble at all. You’re my daughter, I’m your father, there’s no need to be so formal with me. As for the registration, don’t worry, it can be changed back by tomorrow. From now on, you’ll be Nicole Seys, Miss Seys.”

Nicole Seys nodded slightly, contemplated for a moment, then raised her eyes to the people in the room, ”Could you erase all the past records of me being called Nicole, including the matters of having a mother and brother? Since I’ve come back to the Seys Family, I want to face a new future with a whole new identity.”

The Seys family members all looked at her, their eyes probing.

Enzo Seys chuckled, ”That’s no problem either. You will be Nicole Seys from now on, my daughter who has just returned from studying abroad.”

Nicole Seys nodded, giving a faint smile, ”Thank you.”

Dominic Seys, the highly esteemed elder of the Seys family, smiled kindly, looking at his granddaughter, ”Child, where’s your brother? Why didn’t he come back with you?”

The light smile on Nicole’s lips froze as she sat on the sofa, her fingers trembling slightly, ”My brother... has passed away...”

”How could that be? Your brother was only in his twenties! So young!” Enzo Seys’ smile vanished, his face filled with shock and disbelief.

He had only met his son once, how could he have passed away suddenly?

Nicole Seys bit her lip, her voice tinged with a sob, ”It was an accident... Five years ago, after mom passed away, my brother took me abroad, he gave up his studies to work and support me through school, and then one day, there was an accident...”

The Seys family fell silent, the only sound in the living room being Nicole’s faint sobs.

Enzo Seys murmured repeatedly, unwilling to accept the reality, ”How is this possible, Wade was so young, how could he be... He hadn’t even recognized his roots as a Seys, he hadn’t called me ’Dad’ even once, I haven’t made up for my neglect of him! That child was only in his twenties!...”

Beside him, his wife Lily Cox sighed softly, holding his hand, she gently comforted him, ”Enzo, don’t be too sad, you still have a daughter to love and cherish in her stead. The child passed away in an accident, that’s a fact. Don’t grieve too much and hurt your health.”

Tears glimmered in Enzo Seys’ eyes, clearly deeply affected by the news of Wade’s accidental death.

The Seys living room was silent as a grave.

Arlo Seys looked at his sister Nicole sitting on the sofa, his gaze deepening.

------

At night, in the Seys Family’s backyard garden.

Nicole sat on a swing, lost in thought.

A figure approached, bathed in the pure moonlight, tall and upright, with an exceptional demeanor.

Nicole looked up slightly, and upon seeing it was her cousin, she was startled for a moment, then gave a faint smile.

Arlo Seys came closer, stopping in front of her, speaking in a deep voice, ”You said your brother died in an accident, what kind of accident?”
