Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Settling Accounts? Then Let’s Get It Straight!

Ariel Morris shook the bag in her hand, feeling a bit uneasy, ”The clothes you bought for me, should I offset the cost with my internship salary? And the sanitary pads—Arlo Seys, you bought so many, I probably only need two small packs, the rest shouldn’t be on me, right?”

Arlo Seys glanced coldly, ”Are you reckoning accounts with me?”

Ariel Morris slightly lowered her eyes, her voice as soft as a mosquito’s hum, ”I really don’t have money, should I return these clothes to you? The after-sales service at the mall is quite good now, I should be able to return them... As for the sanitary pads—you have so many maids and there’s also your sister, right? These sanitary pads, well, won’t go to waste.”

”....” Arlo Seys’ gaze paused, each word was spat out through gritted teeth: ”Ariel Morris, are you really planning to settle accounts with me? Fine, let’s clear things up!” Saying so, Arlo glanced at the bag in Ariel’s hand, ”These two sets of clothes, I think you know the brand, an Italian high-end brand. Each piece costs at least five figures, these are two sets, I’ll count it as ten thousand each for you, which makes it forty thousand in total!”

Ariel Morris was on the verge of tears, ”You’re indeed giving me a friendship price...” From what she knew, this brand’s lowest was starting at five figures, so Arlo indeed gave her a significant discount. But, she only had a few hundred on hand, where could she find that much money to repay?!

Seeing her downcast and aggrieved look, exactly the same as in his memories, Arlo Seys’ originally angry gaze gradually softened, indifferent as it was eight years ago, ”As for the sanitary pads, that box has dozens of packs, I’ll count it as a thousand. It’s forty-one thousand in total, Miss Morris.” Arlo considered briefly, pursing his lips as he continued softly, ”Since you claim it was Era that fired you, not that you resigned, it’s Era’s fault, so the compensation I’ll add to your two days of internship, let’s see, that’s a thousand. The rest of the forty thousand, whether Miss Morris wants to transfer or withdraw, is up to you.”

”... Can I owe it first, and pay it back bit by bit?” Ariel Morris asked, a bit embarrassed.

Arlo Seys gave her a cool look, ”Considering Miss Morris has a history of disappearing without a trace, saying you’ll owe it makes me uneasy. What if one day I wake up and Miss Morris is gone again, who will I ask for this forty thousand?”

Ariel Morris was at a loss, ”So what do you want me to do?”

”Pawn your passport and ID card to me. Whenever you pay it off, I’ll return them to you.” Arlo Seys turned away and walked indifferently towards the room.

Ariel Morris quickly followed into the room, speaking rapidly, ”Then can I continue working at Era? Without a job, I can’t repay the money. Besides, finding another job now would waste time. Arlo Seys, I didn’t even do anything wrong, why does your Era irrationally want to fire me?”

Arlo Seys pursed his lips slightly, ”Era doesn’t dismiss interns without reason.” The implication being unless you made a mistake yourself.

Ariel Morris clearly heard the implication, hurriedly shaking her head, ”I didn’t make any mistake, the HR supervisor just asked if I had any unpleasant experiences with you, I thought you hinted at Supervisor Liston to fire me.”

”If you didn’t make a mistake, Era will give you justice. As for the salary, I think Miss Morris knows well, internship wages aren’t high, it’s only after becoming permanent staff that the benefits are good. The intern salary for an artist assistant at Era is a hundred bucks a day, so Miss Morris can choose for herself whether to stay at Era or look for another opportunity, at your discretion.”

Ariel Morris lowered her head and silently did some calculations, after pondering for over ten seconds, she looked at Arlo Seys, ”Then forty thousand—won’t I take a long time to pay it off?”

”That’s your issue! Since we are settling accounts, we will settle them clearly!” Arlo Seys looked utterly indifferent, unmoved with no hint of sympathy, ”Give me your ID card and passport.”
