Chapter 165: Chapter 165: An Unforgettable Birthday【1】

”Alright, Arlo, I will remember your words. Give me the succulent. It’s not far from my home, I can go back myself. It’s late, you should go back too.”

Arlo Seys handed the potted plant to her. Ariel Morris held the pot tight, her pupils reflecting Arlo’s serene and indifferent handsome face. Suddenly, she tiptoed and leaned in to kiss Arlo’s cheek softly, whispering in Arlo’s ear, ”Remember ---- ’Forget-me-not’!”

After saying this, she turned and left without any hesitation or reluctance. After walking a few meters away, she stopped, her feet making a crunching sound on the piled snow.

Ariel Morris did not look back, only her calm voice came through, carrying a heavy nasal sound, traveling into Arlo Seys’s ears with the biting cold wind.

”Arlo Seys ---- don’t forget me.”

This time, Ariel Morris continued walking without pausing again.

Arlo Seys held the purple ’Forget-me-not’, standing in the falling perpetual snow, watching her leave, feeling an inexplicable unease rising in his heart.

The next day, Ariel Morris got up and stood at her desk, holding that letter in a daze.

Once this letter is sent, she and Arlo Seys would have no entanglement whatsoever.

Whenever she thought of this, Ariel felt as if all the strength in her body was drained, her heart contracting painfully, piercing through her to the bone.

The door was suddenly gently pushed open, sensing someone entering, Ariel Morris immediately opened the desk drawer, hurriedly stuffing the letter inside.

She turned her head to see her mother, Laura Pinley, coming in, the panic in her eyes flashed, and she quickly returned to tranquility, smiling faintly, ”Mom, do you need anything?”

Laura Pinley’s gaze lingered on the closed drawer for a moment, then she slowly lifted her eyes, smiling warmly, ”Ariel, happy birthday, mom prepared longevity noodles for you, come down and eat.”

Her mother’s smile was gentle and warm, this maternal love touched Ariel’s heart, and she returned a sweet smile, her voice cheerful and joyful, ”Alright, mom, thank you!”

Ariel Morris linked arms with her mother, Laura Pinley, as they descended the stairs, chatting and laughing.

Sitting at the breakfast table, Scarlett Morris watched this harmonious mother-daughter moment, feeling a twinge of jealousy, as Ariel Morris’s smiling face became more and more irksome.

As Ariel Morris and Laura Pinley sat down, Scarlett Morris sneered sarcastically, ”The birthday girl sure has a big presence, making the whole family wait for her to eat breakfast!”

Ariel Morris calmly picked up the noodles in front of her, ignoring Scarlett’s cold sarcasm, maintaining a neutral expression without a hint of emotion.

Laura Pinley glanced at her quietly eating elder daughter, warning Scarlett with her eyes to behave.

Laura Pinley poured a glass of milk and handed it to Ariel Morris, who was looking down and eating, lightly smiling, ”Ariel, have a glass of milk, breakfast should be nutritious.”

”Thank you, mom.” Her mother’s proactive care made Ariel Morris feel sweet inside, sensing the happiness and warmth of home.

At the main seat, Damien Morris looked at Ariel Morris with a composed and generous demeanor as the head of the family, lifting the milk in front of him, his voice steady and calm, ”Ariel, happy birthday, you’re a year older now. I hope you continue to be sensible, knowing how to take good care of yourself, letting us as parents worry less. I also hope you can set a good example for your sister, let the two sisters love each other and help each other.”

Ariel Morris immediately held up her milk, smiling at her father in the main seat, ”Thank you, Dad, I’m really happy to receive your and mom’s blessings on my birthday today.

Damien Morris responded with a faint ”Hmm,” then casually asked, ”Do you have any plans for today?”
