Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

Night had fallen deep, yet Yuan Xiaofei had not turned on the lights. He was sitting in his dimly lit office, drinking tea. It was already very late, but he hadn’t left because he was waiting for the interrogation results from Wu Zhengyu’s side!

He glanced at the Vacheron Constantin watch on his wrist, worth more than four million, and a smile spread across his face.

This watch was a gift from Li Shengru during their last meeting, along with a promise — if he could successfully get Lu Yu into prison, there would be a generous reward!

Thinking of this, Yuan Xiaofei lowered his head to check the time, then slowly turned around and walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window of his office, took out his phone, and dialed Li Shengru’s number.

”Hello, President Li, it’s Yuan Xiaofei.”

As the call connected, Yuan Xiaofei began to speak with a smile, his voice full of cheer.

”Director Yuan, thank you for today’s efforts!”

Li Shengru’s voice came through the phone, clear amid the silence of the office.

”President Li, you’re too kind. We’re old friends, your concerns are mine. Moreover, capturing criminals is part of our duty, isn’t it?”

Yuan Xiaofei responded with a smile, full of flattery, hoping to curry favor with such a wealthy contributor as Li Shengru: ”We are interrogating Lu Yu as quickly as possible. Once he confesses, we will immediately inform President Li to deliver justice to your son!”

”If that’s the case,”

Li Shengru’s voice grew even clearer: ”Director Yuan, words can’t express my gratitude. After the matter is settled, a generous reward will be transferred to your account. If you’re free tomorrow, at the Peace Restaurant’s supreme suite, I’m hosting. Let’s drink until satisfied!”

Hearing this, Yuan Xiaofei began to smile even more, filled with joy. It was well known that Li Shengru was renowned for his wealth; just for this favor, the initial deposit was the Vacheron Constantin watch worth over four million!

Thinking of this, he became increasingly anxious to see how many more zeros would be added to his account!

With that thought, anticipation filled Yuan Xiaofei’s heart!

After hanging up the phone, Yuan Xiaofei picked up his tea and slowly walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window. Looking at the brilliant night sky and dazzling cityscape, he said aloud, ”Life is truly beautiful!”

Bang!

Just as Yuan Xiaofei was basking in his triumph, a faint sound slowly echoed.

”Who?!”

Startled, Yuan Xiaofei quickly turned around but found no one in the dark room!

Seeing no one behind him, Yuan Xiaofei slowly turned around to gaze at the night sky again, but as he pivoted, the sound came once more!

Bang!

This sound, neither soft nor loud, seemed like someone clapping, yet also like soft footsteps, instilling an immediate tension.

Startled again, Yuan Xiaofei quickly turned around, but still found nothing behind him!

Seeing this, Yuan Xiaofei felt his heart inexplicably race; his sharp intuition told him there was indeed another presence in the room!

With this realization, his heartbeat began to pound louder; in the silent office, he could even hear his own heartbeat!

Thinking of this, he softly murmured, ”Why? Why is my heart beating so fast?”

”A racing heart comes from fear!”

Just as Yuan Xiaofei finished speaking, a cold, low voice pierced the air!

Startled by the voice, Yuan Xiaofei froze in shock, turning to see Lu Yu sitting on the couch in his office, crossing his legs with a cold smirk directed at him!

Seeing this, Yuan Xiaofei almost fainted in fright. Forcing himself to remain calm, he asked the figure before him, ”When did you get in?”

”I’ve been here for about ten minutes. Didn’t you notice, Director Yuan?”

Lu Yu replied calmly, laced with a hint of mockery.

Ten minutes!

The revelation hit Yuan Xiaofei like a bolt. Ten minutes meant that the previous conversation had all been overheard by Lu Yu!

A living person had sat silently in his office, and he had noticed nothing!

At this thought, cold sweat drenched Yuan Xiaofei’s forehead, and he nervously asked Lu Yu, ”What do you want?”

Hearing this, Lu Yu chuckled, then replied, ”What do you think?”

With this simple statement, Yuan Xiaofei instinctively moved, attempting to retrieve his defense weapon from the drawer. But at that exact moment, his body barely shifted before the large floor-to-ceiling window behind him shattered with a deafening gunshot!

”Director Yuan, I advise you to behave. The bullets in my gun don’t discriminate!” Lu Yu remarked, raising his lips into a smile filled with cold disregard.

Lu Yu had a gun!

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Yuan Xiaofei froze, completely shocked that his well-laid plan could take such a turn!

”Wh-what do you want to do?”

Entirely panicked now, Yuan Xiaofei never expected things would take such an abrupt, unpredictable turn!

This former playboy standing before him, what transformative events had occurred over the past five years?!

”What do I want to do?”

Hearing Yuan Xiaofei’s words, Lu Yu laughed, slowly getting up, approaching Yuan Xiaofei with a subtle glance, then said, ”Isn’t it clear what I want, Director Yuan?”

With those words, Yuan Xiaofei felt his heart jolt violently. He retorted, ”I-I warn you, I am the police chief, what you’re doing will have serious consequences!”

”Serious consequences?”

Lu Yu advanced toward Yuan Xiaofei as he spoke.

”Yes-yes it will!”

Upon Lu Yu’s words, Yuan Xiaofei retreated instinctively, only to feel a chill down his spine when he turned and realized he was against the shattered window!

”And how serious are these consequences?”

Lu Yu reached Yuan Xiaofei, giving a light push on his chest, speaking nonchalantly.

With that light push, Yuan Xiaofei toppled backward!
