Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

Meng Yue grabbed Lu Yu’s arm and stopped a car, heading straight to the snack street in LA City.

Inside the car, Lu Yu glanced at Meng Yue, who was tightly clutching his arm, and said calmly, ”You’ve already ditched the person, so can you let go of my arm now?”

To be honest, Lu Yu was quite upset at the moment. Although he didn’t have much regard for Guo Jiarui, who appeared polite but was actually full of dirty thoughts, being suddenly pulled by Meng Yue to act as a shield left him instinctively displeased.

Upon hearing Lu Yu’s words, Meng Yue’s eyebrows arched, and she retorted, ”Hey, you’re getting uppity. Want me to let go of your hand, but what about your hand?”

Meng Yue faced Lu Yu as she spoke, her words carrying a hint of sharpness, yet there was also a touch of embarrassment hidden within.

Hearing this, Lu Yu was momentarily taken aback. It was then he realized his own hand was naturally placed on Meng Yue’s slender waist.

Seeing his arm resting on Meng Yue’s waist, Lu Yu was momentarily stunned, then quickly withdrew his arm and apologized, ”Sorry.”

Seeing Lu Yu’s expression, Meng Yue smirked slightly and released his arm, saying, ”Forget it. Considering how you taught me that method yesterday and were quick-witted just now, I’ll treat you to barbecue today!”

Hearing Meng Yue’s words, Lu Yu was dumbfounded. He even began to wonder how this seemingly carefree Meng Yue became the captain of the criminal police team. Her erratic thinking and personality truly surprised him.

Actually, Meng Yue dressing up today was originally to welcome Lu Yu back and treat him to a meal. After all, the method he taught her yesterday was very useful, and since she’s not stingy, she intended to thank him with some food.

However, thinking was one thing. Lu Yu smiled slightly, agreeing, and his eyes casually glanced through the rearview mirror, spotting Guo Jiarui in a BMW quietly following them.

Seeing this, a cold gleam flashed in Lu Yu’s eyes, but he said nothing.

...

The snack street in LA City was located near the university town. Unlike pedestrian streets, the snacks here were diverse and varied.

After getting out of the car, Lu Yu stretched and casually glanced around, indeed spotting Guo Jiarui’s BMW parked not far away.

Seeing this, Lu Yu ignored it and followed Meng Yue deeper into the snack street.

It was evening, the busiest time for the snack street. Following Meng Yue, Lu Yu arrived at a barbecue stall, where they found a place to sit down. Meng Yue turned to the stall owner and said, ”Boss, give us a hundred meat skewers, fifty tendon skewers, thirty squid skewers, and five kidneys. And bring a case of beer!”

Hearing Meng Yue’s order, Lu Yu was taken aback. The initial items seemed normal, but what was with the five kidneys and a case of beer?

Looking at Meng Yue’s elegant and stern face, Lu Yu almost thought he was out with a burly guy.

”Why are you ordering kidneys, as a lady?” Lu Yu looked at Meng Yue and asked.

”The kidneys aren’t for me. They’re for you. Eat more. Looking at you, it’s no wonder you got kidnapped. Anyone would think you have kidney deficiency,” Meng Yue joked, her tone teasing.

Hearing this, Lu Yu was speechless. His body, honed under harsh conditions, should be described as the most perfectly fit; all muscles and no excess fat. Being called skinny by Meng Yue left him at a loss for words.

Moreover, he was brimming with vitality every morning, yet Meng Yue suggested he had kidney issues, making him even more speechless.

Seeing Lu Yu’s helpless expression, Meng Yue couldn’t help but laugh. For some reason, she just liked seeing him look so exasperated.

The beer and skewers arrived quickly. As Meng Yue started eating, she boldly grabbed a can of beer and said to Lu Yu, ”I’ve read your file. It’s been tough for you. We’ll be neighbors now, so here’s to congratulating you on returning to Lin’an.”

Hearing this, Lu Yu was a bit surprised. He never expected that the woman who called him a pervert every day would say such a thing. Had she undergone a personality change?

Though surprised, he couldn’t refuse since the girl had already raised her drink. He picked up a beer can, opened it, and said to Meng Yue, ”Thanks, I’ll down mine, you do as you like.”

With that, Lu Yu tilted his head back and gulped down the beer in one go.

In that instant, he noticed Guo Jiarui at a nearby barbecue stall coldly drinking beer, surrounded by several burly men, all casting cold glances in their direction.

Seeing this, Lu Yu didn’t make a fuss. Their target was clearly him and Meng Yue. Since that was the case, Lu Yu was curious to see what they planned.

With that thought, Lu Yu withdrew his gaze, assuming a relaxed demeanor, sipping drinks and eating skewers with Meng Yue while staying vigilant of the surroundings.

The snack street was bustling at this peak hour, and having just sat down, their adversaries wouldn’t act now. They’d wait until he was half-drunk, saving themselves much effort.

With this in mind, Lu Yu smiled slightly and continued chatting with Meng Yue as if he had noticed nothing unusual.

The most dangerous time for a beast is when it appears most relaxed. This was a truth Lu Yu learned from battling beasts during his five years on a deserted island.

Some beasts were powerful but appeared sickly, only revealing their ferocity when pouncing on prey.

And Lu Yu was undoubtedly such a beast!
