NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

Kane finished the last slow form, sweat light on his back, ribs aching in a deep, manageable way.

He stood in the center of the chamber, closed his eyes, and let the Controlled Rage rise to a thin thirty percent, just enough to feel the new refinement settle into his limbs, then let it fade again.

Seventy days.

Thora. Misha. Sira. Emilia. The rest.

He opened his eyes and looked at the closed door.

”I’m not finished yet,” he said quietly to the empty room.

The next day, Second Measure began under a hard, clear morning sky.

The arena was larger than the First Measure’s slab, a wide circular floor of dark stone scored by old claws and older bloodstains.

Terraces rose on all sides, already packed with warriors, war-chiefs, and the full council. The pure-blood faction stood in a tight, openly hostile cluster.

Vorra’s people held a clearer position near the southern rail. High above, Grathak sat on the same elevated seat, red eyes half-lidded but fully present, a fresh haunch of meat forgotten in one massive hand.

An overseer, different from the previous day, heavier, bear-marked, raised a horn and blew a single flat note.

”Second Measure. Waves. The outsider holds the center, no time limit. The measure ends when he falls, or the final wave submits. Begin.”

Kane stepped onto the dark stone bare-handed, Mjoldr left on the rack again.

He set his feet in the center of the circle and waited, his ribs aching.

The first wave came in a rush, nine beast warriors, mixed bloodlines, shields and short blades, moving with the rough coordination of a hunting pack.

Kane met them with Controlled Berserker Output already climbing to forty percent.

The first clash was ugly and immediate.

A blade scored a deep line across his left forearm; blood ran freely.

He broke the wielder’s guard with a short, powered elbow that shattered teeth and sent the warrior staggering back, spitting red.

Another came in low. Kane’s knee met the descending face with a wet crunch. Cartilage gave. The warrior dropped, clutching a ruined nose that sprayed blood across the stone.

The rest closed tighter.

Kane moved through them like a grinding wheel, catching wrists, turning blades, answering every opening with precise, bone-deep force.

A heavy club glanced off his damaged ribs and the pain flared white; he answered by driving his forehead into the attacker’s mouth, feeling teeth break against his skull.

Blood, his and theirs, slicked the floor.

By the time the ninth warrior slapped the stone in submission, Kane’s left arm was sheeted red from the forearm cut, his ribs screamed with every breath, and a shallow gash above his eye dripped steadily into his vision.

He didn’t step out of the center.

[Controlled Berserker Output: 45%]

[Wave 1 cleared]

[Damage: Deep forearm laceration, re-opened rib trauma, facial cut] 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

The second wave hit before the last of the first had fully cleared the floor, fourteen warriors this time, fresher, angrier, several carrying longer weapons.

Someone shouted a bet. Someone else laughed.

Kane raised the throttle.

Controlled Rage climbed to fifty-five percent.

The world sharpened.

Pain became information instead of limitation.

He met the first rank with a short, explosive burst that folded a shield wall inward.

A spear tip punched through the meat of his left thigh and tore free; blood poured in a dark, steady stream.

Kane dragged the spearman forward by the shaft and broke his jaw with a single rising punch that left the warrior limp and spitting teeth and blood.

Another attacker latched onto his back; Kane threw himself backward onto the stone, crushing the air from the warrior’s lungs, then rolled and drove an elbow down until he felt the collarbone give with a sharp, wet snap.

The circle became a slaughterhouse of controlled violence.

Kane took a blade across the ribs that opened a long, shallow cut through skin and the edge of muscle; blood ran freely down his side and soaked the waist of his trousers.

He answered by catching the wielder’s arm and dislocating it at the shoulder with a brutal, deliberate twist.

”GAHHHHH!”

The scream was short and raw. Kane moved on.

A fist split his lower lip against his own teeth.

He spat red, smiled through it, and broke the fighter’s knee in the opposite direction with a heel stomp that left the joint visibly wrong.

One by one they went down, some conscious and tapping, some unconscious and dragged clear by attendants who no longer bothered to hide their shock.

When the last of the fourteen was removed, Kane stood alone in the center again.

Blood ran from the thigh wound in a steady trickle.

The cut along his ribs painted half his torso red. His left eye was half-closed by the swelling from the earlier facial blow. Every breath pulled wetly at the damaged side.

He still did not leave the center.

[Controlled Berserker Output: 62%]

[Wave 2 cleared]

[Cumulative trauma warning: blood loss significant, rib integrity compromised, mobility reduced 18%]

[Endurance adaptation progressing]

On the terraces, the noise had changed.

The pure-bloods were no longer smiling. Vorra’s representative watched with cold, open approval. Grathak had leaned forward, both massive hands on the arms of his seat, red eyes bright with genuine pleasure.

One more to go...

The final wave entered without horn or warning, two elite warriors moving in practiced unison.

One was a scarred, older lion-blood who had stood among the pure-blood cluster that morning. The other was a heavy, silent bear-marked enforcer from the palace’s own ranks.

They didn’t rush.

They circled, forcing Kane to turn on the wounded leg, probing for the exact limits of what he still had left.

Kane raised the throttle one last time.

Controlled Rage settled at seventy percent, the highest he had used in either Measure.

The pain receded behind a red, focused wall.

He met the first coordinated rush with brutal efficiency, taking a deep cut across the chest to close distance and answering with a short, powered strike that caved the lion-blood’s cheekbone and dropped him in a spray of blood and broken bone.

The bear-marked enforcer hit him from the side like a runaway cart.

Kane went down hard, felt something in the already damaged ribs grind and give further, and still locked his legs around the larger warrior’s torso.

He climbed with stubborn, bloody determination, found the angle, and drove his thumb into the enforcer’s eye until the warrior howled and thrashed.

Kane rode the movement, got an arm around the neck, and squeezed until the massive body finally slumped into unconsciousness.

Crack.

Silence.
