Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao nodded and said:

”Wildman Valley must be guarded. All the women and children should be divided into small teams, each equipped with a portion of guards, and dispersed into the nearby forests to prevent a surprise attack from the Mercenary Army.

Additionally, we must make every effort to scout out where the Mercenary Army is resting at night. Once we know where their camp is, we’ll know how to handle them.

Ah Bao, take a squad to Gorilla Valley to find Black Jinkang and the Golden Lion King. Tell them to stay hidden for the time being and at the same time, mobilize all the Demon Beasts to search for where the mercenaries plan to bed down for the night.”

...

While Yang Xiao was making arrangements, the Mercenary Army wasn’t idle either.

In a valley dozens of kilometers away from the Primitive Forest, five Warships were parked.

Tang Qian’s five hundred mercenaries were resting and eating in the valley.

Choosing to stay overnight far from the Primitive Forest Protection Zone was a result of Tang Qian’s caution and experience; he naturally knew that spending the night in the Primitive Forest could invite attacks from Demon Beasts.

”Boss, we are dozens of kilometers away from the Primitive Forest Protection Zone right now, those Demon Beasts won’t be able to find us here.”

”That’s true, but everyone still needs to be cautious. Later on, we’ll arrange for enough people to reinforce the patrols and watch.”

”Boss, that valley we flew over with the Spaceship today, with rows upon rows of houses—at least hundreds of them—is that the place where the wildmen gather?”

Tang Qian nodded,

”Correct, that’s Wildman Valley. Today while chasing down a Demon Beast, we accidentally came close to the edge of Wildman Valley. Everyone, take note, we must not get close to Wildman Valley in the future, lest we startle the wildmen.”

”Boss, what’s there to be afraid of wildmen? If you ask me, we could just take our five Warships over there, give them a bombing, and turn Wildman Valley upside down. What could the wildmen possibly do to us?”

The others immediately echoed upon hearing this:

”Boss, why don’t we just take care of Wildman Valley, kill off the wildmen, and then the Primitive Forest will be ours,

This territory doesn’t belong to the Great Dragon Empire, if we take it over, it can fall under our sphere of influence,

With so many mines, we can be the landlords, and those who mine will have to hand over half of their Crystal Stones to us. That’s way better than being mercenaries, right?”

These words shook everyone internally.

They all nodded in agreement and then looked towards their boss, Tang Qian.

Tang Qian also had ideas but as the captain and leader, he wouldn’t act so recklessly.

Tang Qian was silent for a moment, then said:

”If Wildman Valley were so easy to conquer, the Jino City Lord would have taken it down long ago, why wait until today?”

”Boss, that’s not necessarily true. Twenty years ago, there were only large Warships, and the smaller ones hadn’t been transported to Purple Origin Planet yet.

These smaller Warships only began to be transported from Witch Star ten years ago. Since we got these Warships, our Combat Power against Demon Beasts and wild beasts has increased several times.

I’m not underestimating Wildman Valley, but if we take our five Warships over, we could wipe them out.”

”Also, aren’t the wildmen in other places living scattered in small tribes? Wildman Valley seems different from other places; they live in a concentrated area, which makes it easier for us to eliminate them all at once.”

”Boss, there’s something I don’t understand. Why do so many wildmen mine for David’s mines? I’ve never seen wildmen mine for us Witch Star people, it’s really odd!”

Tang Qian said:

”I’ve asked David about this, and consulted the Jino City Lord. Their understanding is that David reached an agreement with the wildmen from Wildman Valley; they coexist peacefully,

David is allowed to mine in Wildman Valley, and the wildmen help with mining, with a portion of the Crystal Stones going to the wildmen.

So, if we attack the wildmen now, it might be complicated. At the least, we cannot attack David’s mines; otherwise, we’d violate the iron rule that Witch Star people must not attack each other’s mines, and the Jino City Lord won’t let us off the hook.”

”We won’t attack David’s mines, but we can attack Wildman Valley. As long as we kill the wildmen of Wildman Valley, those wildmen from the mines will probably come out to fight us.”

”As long as the fight with the wildmen is outside the mining claim, isn’t attacking David’s mine an issue that’s resolved?”

”Boss, let’s do this big job with the brothers! Such a good opportunity, if we don’t seize it now, we’ll regret it when it’s too late!”

”Now with over a hundred mining claims, at least a thousand veins have been prospected. This is a huge fortune,

if we control the Primitive Forest, those private mine owners will have to pay taxes to us when they come to mine—easy money for us while lying down.

Is there any better business in this world?”

Greed rose from the heart of every man,

mercenaries were people who sold their lives for survival—greedy and ferocious!

How could they not be tempted by such an alluring chance to make money?

Tang Qian was also tempted.

”This... Do all you brothers really want to hit this big job?”

”Of course, Boss, if we really take down Wildman Valley, the Jino City Lord will be happy too. In the future, if we attach ourselves to him and pay him a symbolic protection fee, this place could even become an independent kingdom.”

”Let’s do it, boss!”

...

Everyone suddenly became excited, shouting and yelling.

”But, are our five hundred people enough?”

Tang Qian was still cautious, after all, this was a gamble on life. Winning would shine for a lifetime, but losing could mean total annihilation. Caution was essential.

”Shall we go ask Jino City Lord to lend us another five hundred guards?”

”No, if we ask Jino City Lord for people, this territory won’t end up being ours.”

”Why can’t we make it with just our five hundred people?”

”Let’s not engage in ground warfare first, let’s bombard Wildman Valley with warships. If we bomb continuously for a month, can’t we kill them?”

”It’s said that the Wild Men King is already Quasi-Emperor Level, our warship’s laser cannons can’t kill him.”

”It doesn’t matter if we can’t kill him—just as long as we kill all the other wildmen. What can a single Wild Men King accomplish? When the time comes, can’t our five hundred people surround and deal with him?”

...

Everyone was talking and devising strategies.

After hesitating for a while, Tang Qian shouted loudly:

”Guys, stop arguing for a sec. Let me discuss with a few squad leaders to come up with a viable plan. If it’s feasible, then it’s not too late for us to act.”

...

At dawn, the sky just began to brighten, and everyone was still immersed in their dreams.

The five warships of the Mercenary Army quietly arrived at Wildman Valley.

”Open fire, destroy all the houses, blow up all the wildmen!”

Following Tang Qian’s order, the five warships roared in and bombarded the lined-up houses of Wildman Valley.

The powerful laser cannons, like raindrops, were fired from the warships,

”Boom, boom, boom, boom...”

Wildman Valley was ablaze with light, with houses being blown into the air one after another.
