Super Gene Hunting Ground

Karachi City, hundreds of people gathered together, all were investors of the mining operation or family members of the investors.

Now, their mining operation in Wildman Valley had been destroyed, and miners had been killed, even their own kin had perished on the spot.

They were very agitated.

”My father died at the mine.”

”My uncle died at the mine.”

”My brother died too.”

”Now that the Jino City Lord is not stepping in, we all need to figure out a way to solve this problem.”

”We’ve invested so much, we can’t let these demon beasts destroy it, right?”

”Everyone, what should we do?”

”What else can we do? We need to organize and attack Wildman Valley, wipe out the demon beasts and the wildmen there, take back the Primitive Forest completely, then the mine will be ours.”

”Right, since the Jino City Lord is unwilling to step in, then we should organize a team and attack on our own.”

”Just like the last time when the War God attacked Pegasus Empire’s territory and took it over!”

...

Most of the people here were relatively young and knew little about the Wildman King of Wildman Valley.

An older man stood up and said:

”Do you know why Lord Jino refuses to send troops to attack Wildman Valley?”

Everyone was stunned and looked at the old man.

”He’s just a coward! After all, Wildman Valley is not under his jurisdiction, he’s too lazy to stir up trouble.”

A young man mocked.

The old man shook his head and said:

”You’re too young, thinking too simply, not knowing the dangers of the Primitive Forest.

When my son was going to invest in the mine, I tried my best to stop him. He didn’t listen to me, said I was old, cowardly, not keeping up with the times, and he insisted on heading to that Primitive Forest with others.

Now, he’s caught up with the trend, alright,

But,

He’s lost his life!”

The old man spoke indifferently, and everyone around was stunned, listening quietly.

The old man’s surname was He, an old miner, older than everyone around.

”Old He, what exactly is the situation with that Primitive Forest, tell us about it.”

Old He drew on his pipe, took a puff, and slowly blew out a ring of smoke.

”The Primitive Forest is home to four to five thousand wildmen, among them is an old guy called the Wildman King,

Twenty years ago, when the Jino City Lord first became the City Lord, he was full of ambition and confidence, wanting to conquer a piece of the Primitive Forest to add to his achievements.

He targeted that Primitive Forest, took a few hundred elite guards and some private miners to scout the place,

They ended up clashing with the wildmen tribe there.”

Old He paused here, took a deep drag on his pipe, and slowly blew smoke rings.

Someone grew impatient,

”Old He, what was the outcome? Please don’t keep us in suspense!”

”The outcome?”

Old He’s eyes flashed with light, memories of the past scenes coming to mind, and his gaze dimmed immediately,

”The Jino City Lord brought over five hundred people, only a bit over a hundred returned, the rest all perished there, even the Jino City Lord himself nearly got killed.

The Wildman King didn’t want to escalate matters further, spared his life but cut off his left ear as a warning not to invade the Primitive Forest again.

Has anyone here seen the Jino City Lord?

Didn’t you notice that his left ear is gone?”

”I’ve seen the Jino City Lord occasionally, but his ear is covered by his hair, it’s not visible.”

”Elder He, how do you know all this so well?”

Elder He gave a slight smile, slowly lifting his left hand. All that remained on his left hand were his index finger and thumb; the other three fingers and nearly half the palm were gone.

”Back then, I was one of the private miners who followed the Jino City Lord.”

After Elder He finished speaking, he listlessly lowered his left hand.

Silence fell over the scene.

After a while, someone asked,

”So, is the Evolution Level of the Wildman King very high?”

”Empire Level Peak, close to Emperor Level. Even the War God had a confrontation with the Wildman King when he came to Purple Origin Star to pioneer the land.”

”Oh! The War God had a fight with the wild man? What was the outcome?”

”I didn’t see it myself; I only heard about it. They say the War God, after a tough battle, finally severed the hand of the Wildman King with the Divine Weapon Red Blood Sword.

It was after that battle that the Wildman King led his tribe back to retreat into the Primitive Forest.

In that battle, the War God also sustained heavy losses and his Qi was greatly depleted, so he did not pursue further.

The Wildman King has been hiding in the Primitive Forest with his tribe ever since then, and aside from the battle with the Jino City Lord, they never came out again.”

Upon hearing this, the hundreds of people around started feeling uneasy, as if the fierceness of that battle was taking shape before their eyes.

Before this, everyone only had mines and Crystal Coins on their minds. Who could have thought that there would be such dangerous entities lurking in the Primitive Forest, hiding a super powerful entity once on par with the War God at Quasi-Emperor Level.

A middle-aged man came over and said,

”Afterward, I took a spaceship to take a look, and all the mines were destroyed. Except for a dozen miners who managed to escape back, no one survived.

But, there’s a strange thing, one of the mines was still operational, and it had a workforce of over a thousand people, being the largest mine there. Why did they suffer no damage at all?”

Elder He was startled for a moment and said,

”I’m not aware of the situation you’re mentioning, did you not go and ask them what happened?”

”The miners there were all wild men, I didn’t dare to go down. I just saw it from a distance and avoided it.”

Someone in the crowd said,

”You’re talking about the mine invested by Elder Qin and Station Chief Dai, right?”

”Yes, that should be the one. It seems they were the first ones to start mining in the Primitive Forest. We all heard that they made money from mining and then rushed over to invest in our own mines. Why would their mine be unscathed?”

”I heard about it from my father. The mine bears David’s name, but actually, David and Elder Qin are just minor shareholders; the real boss is someone else.”

”Who?”

”I don’t know either. Moreover, that mine is protected by the Genetic Store’s orange Defense Light Screen. The attack that night was by Demon Beasts, not wild men. Naturally, Demon Beasts wouldn’t dare to approach the Defense Light Screen of the Genetic Store.”

Everyone around, upon hearing this, suddenly had an epiphany, slapping their thighs and exclaiming,

”Ah, I remember now, we didn’t apply for the Genetic Store, and that’s why we were attacked by Demon Beasts.”

”Yeah, exactly, only David’s mine applied for the Genetic Store, they had protection, so naturally, they weren’t attacked by Demon Beasts. The miners who escaped also mentioned this.”

”So, it seems like if we apply for the Genetic Store and bring more guards, there is still hope to start mining again?”

”That should be the case, yes.”

Having identified the problem and seen hope, everyone’s mood suddenly became lively again.

Elder He had a gloomy face and stayed silent, silently smoking.

He was someone who had experienced it all and knew the crazy obsession of miners blinded by Crystal Stones. With even a 1% chance, they would take a hundred percent risk—

how could they possibly come to their senses?

”Demon Beasts are nothing to fear, we can just unite and hire a few Mercenary Armies to come and exterminate the surrounding Demon Beasts.”

”Right, as long as we don’t disturb the wild men inside, there shouldn’t be a problem.”

”With a Mercenary Army, what can the wild men do even if they come out?”

”Think about it, we’ve invested so much, the mines are ready, and Crystal Stones are within our grasp. How regrettable would it be to give up just like that?”

”Fortune comes with risks, without taking chances, where would astonishing wealth come from?”

...

Finally, the group decided to pool money together to hire a Mercenary Army to pioneer Wildman Valley.
