Chapter 1477: Chapter 507: Terrio’s Decision (3)

As for why him, it should be because Haleem mentioned in his report that High Rank Fire Witchcraft has a certain restraining effect on the black fog within the ruins.

”It’s not just me; Lord Garrett will also arrive in an hour.”

”Hmm? It seems the Military Department doesn’t just want to inquire about the situation this time.” Terrio frowned and said.

Because if it was merely for inquiry, Alvin actually wouldn’t be the appropriate choice.

And summoning two Epic level powerhouses at once, in the current situation, this move by the Military Department must have subsequent purposes.

”Of course, Lord Terrio, this time we are here not only to understand the specific situation from you but also hope you can join us in the preliminary exploration. Of course, this is not my personal request but the decision of the Federation Congress.”

As Alvin spoke, he handed Terrio a note.

”Since it is the decision of the Congress, I will try my best to cooperate.” Terrio quickly glanced at the note, nodded, and said.

But he had a rather bad premonition in his heart.

Preliminary exploration? Doesn’t seem quite right.

However, just as Terrio was about to inquire, Alvin took the initiative to ask:

”Lord Terrio, is it impossible to re-enter through the door you came out from? If I’m not mistaken, that door is gate number three, directly leading to the second basement level of the Floating City, right?”

”Yes, but that door is exceptionally sturdy, and we triggered the alarm when leaving. Going back in might lead to unknown enemies.” Terrio said gravely.

”What a pity. It seems we have to work a bit from above to go down to the third basement level.”

”What? Go to the third basement level?” Terrio’s eyes widened, looking at Alvin in astonishment.

”Of course, otherwise, Lord Terrio, you wouldn’t think Lord Garrett and I are idle? The third basement level is just a small target.” Alvin said, slightly displeased.

”Don’t joke, Lord Alvin. You have no idea how dangerous it is below.”

”No, no! Unless your intelligence is wrong, currently, the most troublesome mechanical monster you encountered is the Prototype. Lord Garrett’s lightning attacks can short-circuit mechanical monsters in a certain area, and as for monsters formed by that black fog, leave them to me.”

”With our team setup, I think we can uncover more secrets of this Floating City Ruins, don’t you agree, Lord Terrio?”

”No! You haven’t truly been inside. Even if this is a Federation Congress decision, I also have the right to make my own decision. At most, I will accompany you to the entrance of the second basement level; after that, I will leave. This is my bottom line.”

Sword Saint Terrio clearly remembered Rein’s reminder to him.

Telling him not to enter the third basement level without great certainty.

Besides, Terrio himself had no desire to delve further into exploring this Floating City Ruins. As a Sword Saint, it was almost impossible for him to gain anything from the subsequent exploration that would enhance his combat power.

What was most concerning was the mindset of Alvin or rather the Military Department’s exploration team.

From the small target of ”going to the third basement level” mentioned by the other party, it seemed they didn’t take the unknown dangers contained within the Floating City Ruins seriously.

”Since that is the case, Lord Terrio, then the subsequent exploration won’t need to trouble you. I will propose to the Military Department to have Lord Sword Saint Guiterrez come.”

Alvin said with a sullen face.

Guiterrez?

Upon hearing this name, Terrio’s expression immediately turned ugly.

For any Federation warrior, who didn’t know his bad relationship with Guiterrez, the deliberate mention of replacing him by the other meant something self-evident.

”In that case, I’ll take my leave. I wish Lord Alvin good luck.”

With a look of indignation, Terrio left a parting shot and turned to leave.
