Chapter 1475: Chapter 507: Terrio’s Decision

”Let’s put this matter aside for now. The immediate priority is to seize control of this Floating City as soon as possible,” Vice Chairman Bertrand said, waving his hand after pondering for a moment.

”From the scale, even if the Dragan Empire dedicates the entire nation’s resources, it would be impossible to create a Floating City as massive as the ancient Goblin capital without several years, plus a vast investment of money and manpower.”

”Furthermore, compared to the Empire, the Federation’s technological reserves and the number of engineers far exceed theirs, giving us a natural advantage in integrating and gaining control of the Floating City.”

”If we can master the Floating City a little earlier, we will also hold an absolute advantage for a considerable period. What do you all think?”

”Alright then, it’s a pity,” General Randall shrugged and said.

”Your Excellency Vice Chairman, I agree with your opinion and suggest that we quickly commence exploration of the Floating City.”

”At present, Lord Terrio, Lord Hernandez, and oh yes, that young Lord Rein, the team of three, have only explored down to the second basement level of the Floating City.”

”Undoubtedly, it was a failed exploration, but the gains from it were astonishing,” said the elder with a pipe, Congressman Nelson.

”Congressman Nelson, I think I should remind you of something you might have forgotten; the main task of Lord Terrio and the three at that time was not exploration, but the rescue of Lord Haleem,” Trena retorted somewhat pointedly.

”Alright, Congressman Trena, my main point is that I believe the third and fourth basement levels of the Floating City Ruins will have more surprises waiting for us.”

”Perhaps, the upcoming discoveries will greatly accelerate our Federation’s control over the Floating City. What do you think, Congressman Trena?”

Nelson smiled, not minding being interrupted by Trena just now.

”I naturally agree on this point,” Trena nodded.

But she knew this old fox Nelson must have some ulterior motive behind that big circle he drew.

”Well, here, I suggest that the Military Department lead the early exploration. The Federation has a significant number of strong individuals with military backgrounds, and the Military Department can quickly coordinate them for the subsequent exploration,” Nelson said with a smile to General Randall beside him.

At this time, Trena naturally realized that their intention was to curry favor with the military here.

”Thank you, Lord Nelson, for your trust in our Military Department! Just in time, Lord Alvin and Lord Garrett have finished their previous mission and are well-suited to execute the Floating City exploration task.”

”Your Excellency Vice Chairman, do you see fit to have these two Lords join Lord Terrio in exploring the ruins again? I think we should obtain more intelligence before the Federation gathers more strong individuals,” General Randall turned to Bertrand for instruction.

The beautiful Congresswoman Trena’s red lips twitched twice. She wanted to say something, but Randall’s words made sense in some respects. Indeed, the information currently available is only up to the second basement level, which is too little.

Intelligence work needs to proceed before the Federation gathers more strong individuals into the ruins.

”Alright, General Randall, please communicate with the two Lords. I will quickly apply to the council to gather as many strong individuals as possible to explore the Floating City Ruins,” Bertrand glanced at Trena, thought for a moment, and agreed with Randall’s suggestion.

”You’re too kind, it’s what I should do,” Randall slightly bowed with a smile.

As the meeting concluded, General Randall and Congressman Nelson left the meeting room one after the other.

In the airship corridor.

”General Randall, this time I’ve brought a thirty-year-old bottle of Carl Bordeaux on the airship. Do you have time to come over for a visit?” Nelson smiled as he made the offer.

”Of course, Lord Nelson’s fine wine is not to be missed.” Whether out of gratitude for Nelson’s support for the military at the meeting or due to parliamentary etiquette, Randall would not refuse.

A few minutes later, in Nelson’s luxurious cabin.

After some pleasantries, Nelson swirled the wine glass in his hand and said, ”General Randall, actually, I agree very much with your first suggestion.”

”Thank you, I’ve already felt Lord Nelson’s support. However, since the Vice Chairman has decided to temporarily set it aside, there’s nothing more that can be done on this matter.”

”Hehe, actually, this matter doesn’t necessarily require us or even the military to act. In fact, it doesn’t even require the Zaral rebel forces to take action. After all, allowing the rebel forces to kill members of the Empire Delegation on Federation territory is a hard-to-explain blemish.”

Nelson said with an expression of confidence on his face.

”Oh?” General Randall frowned slightly, not immediately grasping the meaning behind his words.

”In Westin City, the Empire Delegation and the Federation once collaborated seamlessly to kill the ’Ice Sea Giant Demon’ Gazrian. But I heard that this incident angered the Sea God Sect greatly, leading to multiple cost-ignoring attacks along the Federation’s extensive coastline for several consecutive days.”

”The information is accurate,” General Randall confirmed with a nod.

”Well, if by any chance, the specific return time and route of Lord Rein or the Empire Delegation were to be inadvertently leaked to the Sea God Sect by a spy from the Zaral rebel forces, what then?”

”Naturally, then...” Randall finally understood what Nelson was trying to imply, as well as the purpose behind it.
