Chapter 1456: Chapter 500: Fierce Battle with Seven Demon Statues

Hearing this voice, everyone immediately turned to look.

They saw a goblin corpse wearing a white lab coat, looking at them from dozens of meters away.

Chains and suspending spare parts hung densely in front of it, blocking the view, so everyone hadn’t noticed it before.

However, the most shocking thing wasn’t anything else, but the fact that it could actually speak.

This means that the opponent’s consciousness, on some level, still exists; after all, this is the ruins from thousands of years ago!

”This guy can actually speak?” Sword Saint Terrio frowned, with a look of surprise.

”Couldn’t possibly still be alive, right?”

”But wasn’t the opponent supposed to be controlled by those black insects?” Hernandez’s brows furrowed as well.

”Is it something similar to a corpse wizard?”

Unlike the other three, Rein wasn’t too surprised.

Because just now he heard Haleem say that the eerie whispering was actually in goblin language, he had a vague suspicion in his heart.

That is, perhaps these goblins turning into undead wasn’t due to the initial speculation of the Evil God or the Undead Wizard’s attack.

Instead, it was caused by the goblins themselves, naturally with the purpose of fighting against those bizarre black insects!

This can explain why there are no residents here, but instead, there are these elite mechanical engineers and controllers.

Of course, this is still Rein’s guess so far; there isn’t enough evidence to prove it, but at least, for now, it seems possible.

”Boom boom!”

At this moment, the dull and swift footsteps of demon statues interrupted Rein’s thoughts.

Two giant demon statues suddenly rushed out from behind the goblin corpse, and they looked extremely similar to the prototype Rein had seen before.

Except that one demon statue had its original arm with three-barrel cannons replaced by dual swords, and the other turned into two huge steel fists, and both were much faster than the prototype encountered before.

Obviously, this was a special adjustment for close combat.

Seeing this, the initial naming of the demon statue by the Federation as a prototype wasn’t unreasonable; the two demon statues before their eyes can be understood as improved prototypes.

”Super Divine Cross Slash!”

Facing the two demon statues charging rapidly from front and back, Sword Saint Terrio gave an angry shout and immediately unleashed his signature move.

This left Rein slightly stunned.

After all, using a signature move right off the bat isn’t wise; generally, probing the unknown enemy first is a better choice. As a Sword Saint, Terrio couldn’t possibly not know this.

In fact, perhaps Rein himself hadn’t thought of it.

The series of his analyses, judgments, and witchcraft that pierced the ground had an extremely significant impact, even on seasoned epic strongmen like Terrio and Hernandez.

Thus, Terrio seemed to be showcasing his strength, rushing out like a fierce tiger, going all out from the start.

Two gigantic silver sword lights crossed in a flash towards the front.

However, the dual sword prototype’s reaction was incredibly quick; its chest cannons, resembling enlarged Gatling guns, continuously fired dense energy bullets, while its shoulder emitted two plasma bursts, forming blue plasma vortex shields that immediately protected itself.

”Boom!”

But where was Sword Saint Terrio’s signature move so easily blocked?

The silver cross sword light broke through the energy bullets first, then the plasma vortex shield, and only exploded after intensely colliding with the dual sword prototype’s swords!

Instantly, a dazzling silver-blue shockwave spread all around!

The dual sword prototype was directly blasted over ten meters away, crashing heavily into the double hammer prototype behind it, and on Rein’s side, Haleem was also flipped over by the strong shockwave.

However, Rein wasn’t focusing on Haleem right now; he was squinting his eyes, watching ahead with a furrowed brow.

”Eh?”

Sword Saint Terrio’s expression became stern as he murmured.

The dual sword prototype in front was hit flying, but at the last moment, it crossed its swords, blocking all the remnants of his Super Divine Cross Slash.

In other words, the signature move he executed after consuming a considerable amount of physical strength didn’t yield any substantial combat results; he just got a loud sound.

Indeed, the double hammer prototype supported the hit-flown dual sword prototype, and then both rushed towards Rein’s group again.

However, in the corner of Rein’s eye, he noticed something even more troublesome happening!

The goblin corpse in a white lab coat suddenly ran beside another giant demon statue resembling a prototype lying horizontally on the ground, extending its hand towards the demon statue’s head.

A beam of green energy wave rapidly released from its palm, entering the head of the demon statue on the ground.

”Arise...destroy...the invaders!” A hoarse voice like a baby learning to speak emitted again.

”Squeak!”

The black-gray demon statue holding a massive metal sword and shield on the ground suddenly sat up, and then quickly rose.

This was also a prototype demon statue.

The others also followed Rein’s gaze and noticed the actions of the goblin corpse, prompting Haleem to lose his composure and yell: ”Three of them!”

At this moment, except for Rein, the remaining three all turned pale!
