The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Kenzie steadied himself, gently patting his arm with his back hand, pulling the stiffened muscles on his face into a smile of relief after a narrow escape, yet his eyes were already wet, and he was so excited that he spoke incoherently: ”I’m fine, I’m fine. It’s good to be fine, it’s good to be fine, it’s great! It’s really great.”

The old butler, who also accompanied them throughout the night, was old and couldn’t endure the night as young people do; his eyes were bloodshot from staying up all night, and now he too couldn’t help but joyfully shout beside them: ”Thank heavens, luckily madam is fine, it’s good to be fine.”

Jaycent and Yuni both smiled.

Everyone experienced a break in the clouds, relieved and smiling.

The Davidson Family relatives also hoped Marcella would pull through so after waiting all night, upon hearing the news, they whispered to each other, spreading the good news.

Amidst the joy, only one person behaved extremely abnormally.

Leony Davidson had also waited here all night; when the doctor came out and said Marcella’s surgery was very successful, and she would soon regain consciousness.

Her face turned pale, completely unable to smile.

She was already dazed.

”Fine? How can it be fine...” She hadn’t intended to harm Marcella’s life when changing the medicine, but when the doctor said it was serious, she was mentally prepared.

Who would have thought there’d be a plot twist?

Marcella was fine.

Now, she was the one facing danger.

Leony Davidson couldn’t accept the reality and stood frozen on the spot, hanging her head, completely unable to control her emotions.

Jaycent noticed her and spoke to Yuni before walking towards her.

”Leony, the doctor said Aunt’s surgery was successful. Why do you seem unhappy? Do you not want Aunt’s surgery to succeed?”

In the hallway, everyone was still immersed in the joy of Marcella’s successful surgery. Jaycent’s question attracted quite a few people’s attention.

Mrs. Davidson reacted strongly, immediately stepping in front of Leony, glaring at Jaycent angrily: ”What do you mean? How can you say Leony’s unhappy. Did she say she’s unhappy?”

This time, Jaycent refused to give her face, presenting a somewhat cynical attitude, hands in pockets, but his eyes firmly locked onto Leony: ”I see everyone celebrating, but she’s standing alone in the corner, not saying a word. I thought maybe she didn’t want to see Aunt wake up safe and sound.”

This time, Jaycent pointedly said.

”Aunt is safe and sound now, and some things we can start to investigate. I was almost misled before, suddenly realizing the poisoning doesn’t necessarily have to be done by the doctor providing the medicine; indeed, others also had the chance to poison, right?”

”After all, Aunt isn’t taking that medicine for the first time; Nathalie sends the medicine once a month, and now it’s just the end of the month.”

Jaycent’s eyes burned as he looked at Leony Davidson: ”In other words, Aunt has been taking it for a month; if there was a problem with the medicine, it would have been problematic from the start, impossible to drag on until now. The question arises, is the medicine the problem, or is someone exploiting this medicine to achieve a certain goal?”

”For example, to frame Nathalie Quinlan.”

Leony Davidson never admitted Marcella’s heir was Nathalie; she always thought Marcella would leave everything to her in the future.

Jaycent estimated someone told her that Nathalie is Marcella’s doctor, and due to this relationship, Marcella would be ’bewitched’ by Nathalie, thus leaving all connections and family wealth to Nathalie.
