The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Marcella Davidson and Kenzie Nabours aren’t fools. If they haven’t realized they’ve been played, they’d truly be too naive.

So much trouble caused by her family, Marcella felt deeply ashamed at the moment.

She looked at Nathalie Quinlan, full of guilt: ”Nathalie, I...”

The Old Lady, seeing she couldn’t get through to Nathalie, decided to stop beating around the bush and spoke clearly: ”Young girl, I heard my daughter made you her successor. But our Davidson Family has long chosen someone, and it’s our family member.”

”Her health isn’t great, she likes you, so accompany her more often. Our family won’t make you suffer.” Her tone suddenly shifted, eyes turning sharp: ”But if you want more, we’re not that easy to deal with. Here’s a contract, you can check the terms inside, I hope you’ll sign it.”

The Old Lady nodded toward Leony Davidson and said indifferently: ”Leony, bring out the papers.”

Leony glanced at Nathalie Quinlan, walked over, pulled open the bedside cabinet, and took out a black-and-white printed contract from the drawer.

She returned to walk in front of the girl, a hint of arrogance in her eye: ”Take a look.”

At this moment, Marcella Davidson, Kenzie Nabours, Yuni Davidson, and Jaycent Kingsley all had changed expressions. None of them expected the Old Lady to have another trick up her sleeve and make the situation so ugly.

And keeping the contract hidden from the few of them.

Marcella was so furious her whole body trembled: ”Mom, what are you doing!”

”I have plans for the Davidson Family. Our Davidsons’ assets can’t fall into outsider hands.” The Old Lady changed from her previous weakness, and straightforwardly stated her intentions.

”Young girl, sign this contract, I won’t let you suffer losses. But don’t be too ambitious. The successor of the Davidson Family won’t be decided by an outsider.”

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t reach out to take it. She only glanced at the contract cover Leony handed to her, and could guess what kind of contract it was.

She retracted her line of sight, calmly said: ”There’s no need.”

The Old Lady’s face darkened: ”You refuse to sign?”

She thought Nathalie was too ambitious and tried to brush it off.

She wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen under her watch.

Nathalie reached up to tug on her cap brim, her cool, white hand especially striking and attracting attention. Under the gaze of the Old Lady and the Davidson Family entourage, she lazily spoke: ”Because there’s no need.”

”I won’t touch the Davidson Family’s assets, nor inherit them. Not now, not in the future.” Nathalie paused, her cool gaze sweeping over the few people in the hospital room, speaking lightly: ”Because there’s no need.”

Jaycent Kingsley and Yuni Davidson barely glimpsed a corner of Nathalie Quinlan’s hidden identity, knowing her as the diamond boss of the Illegal Zone and the head of the Red Alliance, so they are clear Nathalie isn’t speaking foolishly; when she said it’s wholly truthful.

No need.

If the Old Lady knew she had even refused the Kingsleys Family, she wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to create today’s farce!

”Mrs. Davidson, my friend is still waiting for me outside. Since the Old Lady is alright, I’ll be heading out.”

”Nathalie...” Marcella Davidson’s heart sank, looking at Nathalie Quinlan, a thousand things to say but unable to hold the girl back, she nodded gently: ”You go, send me a message when you’re home.”

”Okay.” Nathalie agreed readily.

She didn’t even glance at the Old Lady and the Davidson Family members, gave Yuni Davidson a polite nod, then waved to Jaycent Kingsley: ”I’m off.”

Jaycent watched her turn and leave, until Nathalie was far gone, he turned back, took a deep breath, and said to the Old Lady, who still thought she’d succeeded, lying in the hospital bed: ”Grandma, you probably don’t know. Nathalie is the successor chosen by Mr. Fuller, and the future of The First Research Institute might be hers.”

”A small Davidson Family, she truly doesn’t care.”
