The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Marcella Davidson saw her, her brows knitted together, looking somewhat weary, and immediately said to Kenzie Nabours: ”I’m feeling a bit tired, I’d like to rest.”

Kenzie Nabours knew his wife wanted to avoid these people at home, supported her to stand up, and said softly and gently: ”Take your medicine and then sleep.”

”Alright.” Marcella Davidson had long been accustomed to taking medication, ever since Nathalie Quinlan came over, the amount of medicine she took daily had reduced considerably.

Kenzie Nabours was about to go in to get the medicine when Leony Davidson seemed to make up her mind, tightened her grip on the phone, took a deep breath, and said firmly: ”Uncle, you stay with Aunt, I’ll go get it.”

Kenzie Nabours didn’t expect her to offer to help, but without thinking too much, he was only briefly surprised before telling her the drawer where the medicine was kept.

Leony Davidson went inside without another word to get the medicine for Marcella Davidson.

However, Marcella Davidson noticed that she was particularly diligent today, unable to resist looking at her back and saying: ”The child has been coming here every day recently, but did her parents say something to her?”

Kenzie Nabours didn’t take this matter to heart, reassuring his wife with a straightforward air: ”Don’t worry about these things. Anyway, we made ourselves very clear that day. What they think is their business, we just need to stick to our decision.”

Marcella Davidson responded softly, lowering her watery eyes, also feeling that she was overthinking things.

Yet she couldn’t shake an inexplicable feeling of unease in her heart, as if something was about to happen.

...

Leony Davidson moved quickly.

It wasn’t long before she brought back the medicine.

Marcella Davidson’s body was gradually recovering, and during this period, she had been taking the small pills Nathalie Quinlan gave her.

The packaging of the small pills had Nathalie Quinlan’s distinct style.

A palm-sized transparent glass bottle held those priceless pills, with no label on the bottle, looking very much like those unbranded health products sold by the roadside.

”Aunt, is this the one?” Leony Davidson not only brought the medicine but also the water for taking it.

She poured out a small pill and handed it to Marcella Davidson, then passed the glass of water together: ”Water.”

Marcella Davidson accepted the medicine she needed to take and the glass to drink from her hand, softly saying ’thank you.’

Leony Davidson dared not meet her eyes, just shook her head, saying it was what she should do, with a slight hint of nervousness and unease in her expression.

However, having grown up in a distinguished family, she was very composed and deliberately didn’t let it show, so she hid it well.

Neither Marcella Davidson nor Kenzie Nabours noticed the subtle changes in her expression.

Kenzie Nabours even tried the water temperature for Marcella Davidson, gently coaxing her to take the medicine.

Marcella Davidson playfully pushed him, a smile on her lips, and tilted her head back to swallow the medicine.

Leony Davidson saw Marcella Davidson taking the medicine and then putting down the glass, took a deep breath, feeling a bit restless.

Just then the phone rang, she hurriedly grabbed the phone, and answered the call: ”Hello? Now? I see, I’ll head back right away.”

Marcella Davidson and Kenzie Nabours both heard her taking the call.

Leony Davidson put away her phone and got up to say to the two of them: ”Aunt, Uncle, my mom asked me to go back, saying there’s something she needs me for. I won’t be staying with you today, I’ll head back first.”

She thoughtfully reminded Marcella Davidson: ”Aunt, after taking your medicine, rest early, don’t overexert yourself.”

Marcella Davidson noticed that although she had been visiting for several days, she didn’t bring up the laptop or recognition matters, slightly adjusting her impression of her, thinking she shouldn’t involve her in the adults’ affairs, so she caringly said: ”Drive slow on your way back.”
