The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1838: Chapter 1838: I’ve Already Told the School I’ll Repeat a Year

Nathalie Quinlan almost forgot about this, and it wasn’t until he mentioned it that she remembered what Celine Tucker had said earlier.

Caryn Zachmann is not part of the Zachmann family.

Nathalie’s eyes flashed, she frowned slightly, estimating that besides herself, no one at home knew about this secret, which gave her a bit of a headache.

She held the bottle of mineral water in her hand, without unscrewing the cap, contemplating whether to mention it to Audrick Zachmann or Stanley Zachmann, while speaking to Amadeus Yancey, ”Nothing much, just something about Caryn Zachmann. She wanted me to get Caryn out, and I didn’t agree.”

Alfred Garland was driving and was quite amazed hearing this, couldn’t help chiming in: ”What was she thinking? The court already made a decision, and she wants you to pull someone out?”

Alfred thought for a moment and then understood.

Exactly.

With Celine Tucker’s selfish nature, how could she care about the negative social impact of Caryn Zachmann’s issue? She wouldn’t consider how difficult it would be for Nathalie to fulfill her request to get someone out.

Alfred huffed, ”Damn, these people just talk, not thinking at all. If she’s so capable, she can go to the detention center herself!”

Nathalie didn’t say anything, suddenly looked in the direction of the driver’s seat, and spoke in a low voice: ”I need to make a trip to Inderia.”

Amadeus Yancey, upon hearing she was going to Inderia, only slightly raised his eyebrows, showing no surprise, he merely asked, ”Are you sure?”

”Yeah.” Nathalie didn’t hide anything from him and briefly explained her plans: ”I’m going to help Jaycent Kingsley’s aunt for a look, and there’s something else I need to do there. I’ve already taken a leave from school, not participating in this year’s final exams, and will repeat a year.”

She naturally mentioned her decision to repeat a year, showing no concern: ”The teachers in the department agreed too.”

Actually, when she went to Tsinghua University to ask for leave that morning, even Jackson Wafford was alarmed.

He, together with Shawn Norton, made a special trip to the Chinese Medicine building to ask about Nathalie’s decision to repeat a year, and even said she didn’t need to, suggesting special arrangements after canceling the leave, to have a separate test, which could count towards her final grade.

However, Nathalie didn’t agree.

Finally, it was decided that she would repeat a year.

In the Chinese Medicine department, Winston Sullivan quite supported her decision, Shawn Norton didn’t say anything either, although Jackson Wafford wanted to persuade her, he eventually signed off.

”You’re repeating a year, Mr. Wafford’s probably heartbroken.” Amadeus Yancey, though not at Tsinghua, could probably guess the situation at the time and couldn’t help but smile, ”He wanted you in the laboratory, but delaying graduation means delaying entry. But since you’ve made up your mind, I’ll support any decision you make. As for the laboratory... Master Cadmus is waiting for you to say the word, you can go anytime you want.”

Everyone who had interacted with Nathalie knew how astounding her talent in academics was.

Ever since Master Cadmus went on a trip to Inderia with Nathalie, discovering her talent in gunpowder, he felt he had hit the jackpot, constantly bugging Brian Bonette to act as a mediator to persuade Nathalie to join the laboratory...

But Brian Bonette hadn’t yet brought it up to Nathalie.

Of course, he hadn’t asked Brian to mention it either.

He knew Nathalie’s goal wasn’t gunpowder, but Chinese Medicine.

Compared to making gunpowder, Nathalie’s personality is likely more inclined toward healing and saving lives.

”When do you plan to leave?” Amadeus Yancey lazily asked through the rearview mirror.

Nathalie draped one hand over her phone, resting an elbow on the car window, the wind tousled the short hair on her forehead, the black strands just covering her rebellious brow bone.
