The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1828: Chapter 1828: Nathalie Couldn’t Hold Out After All

Nathalie Quinlan felt a bit bewildered, her movements somewhat slow, her usual arrogant gaze subdued, her dark eyelashes drooping, fingers pressing down on the brim of her duckbill cap, unsure of where to put her hands. Her eyes definitely weren’t looking in Amadeus Yancey’s direction: ”Hmm?”

Amadeus Yancey stood there with an elegant and handsome posture, lips slightly curled as he watched her, quietly waiting for her ’explanation.’

At first, Nathalie Quinlan stubbornly resisted saying anything.

After holding out for a minute, she couldn’t manage it anymore and surrendered: ”Didn’t really think much. I was just a little surprised at the time, that’s all.”

”Just a little surprised?” Amadeus Yancey’s voice rose slightly, carrying a tantalizing tone that was quite alluring.

Nathalie Quinlan had never been pushed like this before, and as she reconsidered, she found it strange. She looked at him again: ”No, I didn’t necessarily have to tell you back then, did I? We weren’t well-acquainted then...”

Weren’t they not very familiar back then?

Nathalie Quinlan carefully recalled, and it seemed they really weren’t.

He was just Audrick Zachmann’s ’troublesome friend’ at that time, staying at Audrick Zachmann’s place because her own villa wasn’t ready.

Though everyone lived under the same eave, normally they didn’t cross paths. At most, they’d greet each other in passing, so it seemed normal she hadn’t said anything.

Amadeus Yancey was upset by her justified ’not well-acquainted,’ his eyes darkening. He appeared calm and gentle, not angry at all, yet the intense pressure surrounding him was unmistakable, impossible to ignore.

He leaned in slightly, his face almost touching hers, head lowered, so close that Nathalie Quinlan could practically feel his breath against her face.

”I remember we were quite familiar. For instance, Nathalie the Goddess emphasized to me more than once that we are... good friends.”

Nathalie Quinlan: ”...”

”We’re already good friends, and you’re still saying we’re not well-acquainted. I’m a bit hurt.”

He placed a hand over his chest, claiming to be hurt, but the lazy, teasing expression on his face showed not a hint of actual sadness, clearly just teasing her.

Amadeus Yancey had always been said to be one of Beijing’s three incomparable beauties, with only the sky and water able to rival his looks, indicating just how handsome his face was.

Now, this close, that breathtaking face was enlarged right before her eyes, causing Nathalie Quinlan to suddenly feel a bit flustered, her gaze roving over the corners of his lips that curled into a dangerous and mischievous smile.

Just then, an ill-timed voice suddenly interrupted.

It was Sadam Vinson.

”Ahem! I don’t want to interrupt you two, but Amadeus, Nathalie, if you want to continue your romance, could you please take it to a room? I understand you’re in a hot love phase, but you need to consider the feelings of all the single people around. Watching is quite painful for me...”

He had just died eight times in the game because he was distracted and not playing attentively.

He dared to speak up, but Govert Griffin didn’t, pretending not to see, evidently acting highly considerate.

Alfred Garland poured Sadam Vinson a glass of water, hurriedly advising: ”Mr. Vinson, have some water.”

Candice Yancey’s face was full of appreciation, completely taking on the spectator’s mentality.

Brian Bonette lounged on the sofa, legs crossed, looking refined and handsome: ”Absolutely! No one else said anything, and you’re the one with the opinion, hurry up and drink some water to calm yourself down. Later, I’ll tell Auntie you want to start dating, so you don’t stay sour like this all the time.”

Thinking of his mother and relatives at home, Sadam Vinson immediately raised his hands to surrender: ”No, please spare me.”
