The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1813: Chapter 1813: Mr. Zachmann Wakes Up

She hadn’t been able to sleep for several days, and a row of blisters appeared on her mouth. Consumed by anger, she furiously rolled her eyes.

”It must be her causing trouble behind the scenes, that’s why no lawyer is willing to take Caryn’s case!”

Leonardy Zachmann was still in the hospital.

Since Audrick Zachmann became an adult, he had been living outside.

Other than the Filipino maid, only Hendrik Zachmann was at home in the spacious villa.

As soon as Hendrik came downstairs, she grabbed him, pouring out her grievances with frustration.

He couldn’t help but rub his temples, impatiently saying, ”Mom, don’t make groundless accusations without evidence. It probably wasn’t Nathalie Quinlan. I’m going to the hospital to see Grandpa. If you can’t handle it, just apply for a court-appointed lawyer for her.”

The court offers humanitarian legal assistance to those who can’t find a lawyer.

However, this is usually for people who can’t afford legal fees.

Celine Tucker wanted the best lawyer for Caryn Zachmann and would never settle for a free, ordinary lawyer.

She was about to say something.

Hendrik received a phone call from the hospital. Whatever was said on the other end, it instantly cleared his recent melancholic aura. He exclaimed, ”He’s awake? Great, I’ll be there right away.”

Saying this, he hurried to leave.

Celine Tucker quickly grabbed him and asked, ”Hendrik, who’s awake?”

Hendrik initially didn’t want to tell her but considering she was a member of the Zachmann Family and feeling joyful, he told her, ”Grandpa. The hospital doctor just called to tell me that Grandpa woke up; he’s been awake for ten minutes.”

Celine Tucker hadn’t cared much at first, but suddenly recalling something, she quickly grabbed her bag and followed Hendrik, ”Wait, I’ll go to the hospital with you.”

...

Mr. Zachmann had been in a coma for five days before waking up.

As soon as the Zachmann Family received the message, they all rushed to City Hospital No. 1.

Hendrik and Celine were the first to arrive.

Hendrik went to find the doctor to inquire about Mr. Zachmann’s condition, while Celine went into the ward to see the newly awakened man.

Mr. Zachmann was elderly, and having been in a coma for so long this time, his body was extremely weak, even with renowned physicians like Mr. Avalon on standby.

Hendrik, getting a general understanding of Mr. Zachmann’s condition from the doctor, returned to the ward.

Unexpectedly, upon entry, he saw Celine standing by the bedside, wiping away tears.

When he entered, Mr. Zachmann lay on the bed; his previously graying hair now completely white. He looked fatigued and weak, eyes half-closed, lips pursed, silent.

”Dad, you help...” Celine was speaking, but upon seeing Hendrik come in, she immediately stopped, wiped her tears, and forced a smile at the old man on the bed, saying perfunctorily, ”Dad, take good care of yourself. I won’t disturb you and will leave first.”

She picked up her bag and, fearing Hendrik might ask her anything, hurriedly left without even asking if Hendrik wanted to leave together.

After she left, Hendrik glanced at the elderly man resting his eyes on the bed, his lips twitching, wanting to ask whether his mother had mentioned anything about Caryn Zachmann.

But the words were swallowed back, not wishing to burden the old man right after waking up.

Nathalie Quinlan arrived half an hour later than Celine Tucker.

Seemingly worried that Nathalie would find out she had been there, Celine left the hospital shortly after leaving the ward, without lingering much.

However, Nathalie already knew before coming that Celine had visited the hospital and seen Mr. Zachmann in the ward.
