Chapter 33: Chapter 31: They’re Here

Blood Qi and Divine Power enveloped the entire scene, as the Blood Mage in mid-air looked down upon all living beings below.

In the sacrificial arena, nearly three hundred red-robed mages knelt on the ground, excitedly chanting something.

”Just a bunch of losers. When the gods were still around, they could only cower in the dark sewers. Such beings deserve to be called gods?” Mosen calmly responded.

He patted the Demon Lion behind him. The Demon Lion rubbed against its master’s hand, then turned around and quickly left, knowing that it hadn’t fully matured and couldn’t participate in such a level of combat.

The war intent in Mosen’s eyes was extremely intense, and the terrifying magic power within him suddenly went into frenzy, making him disappear in an instant.

When he reappeared, he was already behind the Blood Mage, his giant sword carrying his entire momentum as it slashed down without hesitation.

Buzz~

Blood exploded with a loud bang as the Blood Mage jerked his head around, raising his hand as an endless stream of blood gathered.

Pressed down.

Boom!

A strong reverberation rang out as the powerful magic power of the Golden Mage crushed Mosen, sending him crashing into the ruins like a cannonball. The intense dust had just risen when it was forced down by the terrifying pressure of the Golden Middle Tier.

”Now your god is no more, while mine is still alive and well. The Scarlet will rule this world. Mages, the Divine Favor of the Lord of Scarlet has descended. Join me in creating more blood to welcome the great Lord of Scarlet.”

A chant-like voice came from the mouth of the Crimson Sacrifice.

The three hundred Blood Mages below stood up passionately in agreement: ”Welcome the great Lord of Scarlet, the world will ultimately belong to the Scarlet!”

Strong waves of magic power subtly linked with the Crimson Sacrifice, as a thin layer of blood mist began to spread.

If Luoning were present, she would be astonished to find that this was exactly the terrifying scarlet she saw in her dreams.

Boom!

Mosen leapt out from the ruins, looking at the Crimson Sacrifice in mid-air who was gathering magic power, and the war intent in his eyes burned even brighter.

However, the Sacrifice’s power seemed somewhat superficial. This round of Divine Favor had at least amplified his power by Level 10, possibly even Level 15.

Such a level of enhancement couldn’t be fully integrated, so he wouldn’t be killed instantly, and that was enough.

”If gods regard all beings as mere toys for their amusement and manipulate the world wantonly, then gods are meaningless!” He gripped the giant sword in his hand tightly and ordered loudly, ”Apocalypse, assist!”

As his voice fell, his figure disappeared again. This was also the signature skill of a Demon Swordsman, a short-range teleportation. While Demon Swordsmen didn’t have the sword skills of normal Swordsmen, they possessed greater mobility and explosive power.

The Crimson Sacrifice raised his hand, gathering terrifying magic power, along with the energy of the three hundred mages below, and clenched his fist.

After the brief gathering of blood, it exploded violently. Mosen, who had just emerged from teleportation, was enveloped by a void shadow, as the powerful force of the Celestial Demon Slash collided with the blood.

Boom!

The intense explosion awakened the night, but Gold is always Gold. After a moment of stalemate, Mosen was again sent flying, but was immediately captured by the blood, frozen in mid-air.

”So what? My god treats believers well. People can’t be without gods. If you obstruct the coming of the Scarlet, you’ll be the first sacrifice. Let me show you what Divine Favor means.” A hideous smile appeared on the face of the Crimson Sacrifice as a spell emerged from his mouth, and threads of blood were drawn from Mosen’s body.

Boom!

But just then, more than a hundred Barretts fired simultaneously, filling the battlefield with intense heat waves.

The powerful kinetic energy of the Barretts slammed into the suddenly appearing blood shield. Caught off guard, the Crimson Sacrifice’s shield wasn’t fully charged and cracked directly.

And the Mage Corps belonging to the Apocalypse Legion began to exert their power, casting beneficial magic onto Mosen, causing his momentum to soar wildly.

He swung his sword down expressionlessly as the shadow behind him raised its sword high, and the Celestial Demon Slash swung down sharply.

Boom!

Baiyi avoided a collapse in the underground tunnel, peering out through a crack with some solemnity in his eyes.

Mosen was indeed strong, but fighting so many levels above was still somewhat difficult. The assistance from the Apocalypse could at most maintain a short-lived stalemate.

The Scarlet was beginning to spread. Baiyi hesitated slightly as he reached out to touch the scarlet mist, finding no negative effects.

He quickened his pace. There were many underground tunnels here, and they were complex.

However, for Baiyi, it wasn’t as challenging. Worker Bees followed in the sky, and since the Scarlet Sect used the aboveground structures as a facade for building the underground city,

he wouldn’t get lost.

As he reached a corner, Baiyi’s step hesitated. He quickly pressed against the wall, holding his breath silently waiting.

Tap, tap, tap...

The sound of hurried footsteps suddenly resounded, and various races donned in red clothing swiftly moved ahead, removing their red outfits as they passed Baiyi, revealing their regular attire underneath.

Once these people disappeared at the end of the passage, Baiyi pondered briefly before continuing to move eastward.

As a secretive organization, the Scarlet Sect obviously comprised more than just mages. Blood Mages might be the backbone, but to maintain such a large underground city, their numbers couldn’t be small.

Besides their bizarre mutations, their theme was blood. That god wouldn’t be anything good.

Or rather, there are no good Ancient Gods.

Faith Gods require the faith of all beings, so they protect them. But Ancient Gods don’t. They were powerful beings from the primal era, possessing power surmounting that of gods without the need for divine tiers of faith.

Ancient Gods is merely a term the present gods use for these losers, which those powerful beings have simply accepted.

Clang~

The loud sound of a sword rang out, and Baiyi paused his steps. Ahead, rapid and brief screams echoed, followed by the scent of blood beginning to spread, seemingly rendering the surrounding scarlet mist even denser.

[Kami...]

Baiyi recognized the energy fluctuation just now, feeling a slight heaviness in his heart as he glanced at the map, following her at his own pace.

Gazing outward, the battle intensified, yet Mosen remained on the defensive. A gap of ten levels was overwhelming, and even with assistance from the legion, it was difficult.

He needed to speed up.

Buzzz~

A faint sound spread, as twenty-eight Worker Bees on him dispersed throughout the tunnel.

Kami sought a certain treasure, driven with strong purpose. As long as he didn’t engage or show malice, not even the most perceptive swordsman should notice him.

Clang~ Clang~

The sound of a sword ringing continuously ahead, Kami sped directly toward the battlefield’s center.

Baiyi was still following. Since they shared the same direction, having someone help clear the Scarlet Sect members was naturally beneficial.

Tap tap.

Quietly tapping twice on his earpiece, a voice immediately sounded.

”Oh, my friend, I feel that restricting presence again; they are coming.”
