Chapter 29: Chapter 27: After Tonight, No More Roses

”Ah, ah, ah...”

As a heart-pounding smoke swept by, the anger in Mosen and Kami’s eyes turned to a heavy burden.

Now, they could clearly see the process of two forces scheming against each other. Under their very eyes, many people had infiltrated around them, yet they still didn’t know exactly who they were.

Even the two highest leaders were unaware, but another more mysterious force knew and was using a very secretive method to remind them to find the mole within their ranks.

The second member of the Will Clan and the fifth member of the Apocalypse Legion had already been killed.

”Sis, something is amiss. A perfect level of infiltration and intelligence, these two organizations are too terrifying. I suggest reporting to the council first,” Ernado said softly, taking out the communication device.

Although magic could accomplish this, machines clearly conserved more Magic Power. Even though he was a Mage, he wasn’t stubborn.

Kami didn’t object, merely scanned the crowd with her eyes.

Bam!

The familiar sound of a gunshot rang out, causing Kami and Mosen to instinctively place their hands on their sword hilts, charging in the direction of the sound, but they stopped simultaneously in the next moment.

Both started observing the expressions of the surrounding soldiers, noticing a look of bewilderment and...panic?

Even the Apocalypse Mage Corps, who hadn’t been involved in the incident, displayed similar expressions.

Kami’s thoughts rapidly turned, she raised a hand without hesitation, and behind her, many members of the Will Clan halted their advance, cautiously watching their surroundings.

Mosen mirrored her actions, adding, ”The Wucheng Army continue, the Apocalypse Legion halt.”

The orders from the two were issued, and those still clearing civilians continued, while those preparing for battle all stopped.

The two of them, one a heir to a prominent family and the other a Legion Commander.

Since the moment after the second spy appeared, both of them realized that the mysterious spy organization wanted them to advance quickly, while the mysterious intelligence organization aimed to stop them.

And their target was the Scarlet Sect. When unable to quickly identify the traitor, or even unable to identify a traitor at all, swiftly resolving the battle was also an option.

But now, the bewildered and terrified morale was insufficient to support a normal war, the soldiers needed time, and they also needed to report some information to stabilize the somewhat chaotic morale.

”Beep, beep... Beep, beep...”

At this point, the electronic sound chimed, Ernado glanced over, his eyes filled with thought, ”Sis, the Federation has no similar information.”

Kami moved closer, looking at the words ’establishing files’ in the feedback, pondering for a moment before responding, ”These two organizations are too secretive. First, report them, clarify their characteristics and such. When we get back, I’ll discuss it with Father.”

Ernado nodded, lowered his head, and began operating the instruments. These two organizations were somewhat frightening. If the nature couldn’t be confirmed, then Dongwu City would certainly need to conduct a self-examination.

Though that might not necessarily be useful, but an organization of this level should be filed and sent to each city of the Federation.

If the ominous black aura that appears after death shows up frequently in the Federation, it will definitely attract attention.

Kami looked up at the sky, according to the omens of the past seven reminders, the eighth should have already passed. Has it disappeared? Or have they noticed something?

Kami watched as the person sitting atop the lion was giving orders, then turned to Seth and said, ”Go and reassure them, tell them it was an intrusion by the Scarlet Sect just now, and that all the intruders have been killed...”

-----------------

The Inner City, a subterranean base.

A group of people watching a magical projection fell into silence.

A person wearing a Clown mask stood in front of many members and spoke gravely, ”Someone is targeting us.”

A person with an Angel mask, their voice slightly aged, said, ”Our target is the Scarlet Sect, the targets of Will and Apocalypse are also the Scarlet Sect, no one can stop tonight’s operation.”

”No, what I’m saying is, someone has discovered us, perhaps an individual, or maybe a force. They have discovered us, we are no longer absolutely secret,” the Clown’s tone grew even more serious.

The entire underground was silent, everyone understood what that meant. Anyone who discovered the existence of the Black Night Rose would perish.

The Angel calmly said to the Clown, ”I’ve already reported to headquarters. A powerful Divination Master will come soon, but for now, do not disrupt our rhythm. The priority of the Scarlet Sect at least tonight is higher than that organization.”

The Clown nodded lightly, ”Do we need to take action?”

The Angel looked at the numerous members, there were dozens here, all Silver, most of the intermediate members of the Black Night Rose in the Dongwu City branch.

And the leaders of each minor intelligence squad. Due to the lack of betrayal, most actually knew each other.

The reason for wearing disguises was because the night represented mystery; in their faith, there was mystery, so they had to follow the mystery, otherwise the God would be displeased during the ritual.

And when the God is displeased, it means someone will die.

After scanning the room, he answered, ”Yes, we need to be conservative.”

This time in Dongwu City, they had brought a total of two Golds. Tonight’s task didn’t require them to all be deployed at once. Exposing too much power was too conspicuous.

The Old Sword Saint was still alive, his deterrence still present. The Gold couldn’t easily act, at least not to cause trouble openly.

”I understand... Goblin, Dark Night Elf, Black Goat, come with me,” the Clown decisively ordered and stood without hesitation, quickly heading out.

Among the over forty people in the room, three wearing Goblin, Elf, and Goat masks stood up. The Goblin was an Assassin, the Elf an Archer, and the Goat a Mage.

They followed the Clown with their masks, swiftly vanishing underground. The Black Night Rose never wasted time.

The Angel watched them disappear, then turned and asked, ”Who’s in charge of the Quartermaster? Brief us.”

A tall figure wearing a Dwarf mask stood up and respectfully responded, ”It’s me, the Quartermaster hasn’t found anything substantial. In fact, all forces are targeting the Scarlet Sect. The intel sent to Apocalypse and Will’s side was all delivered by him, but we can’t rule out the possibility of diverting our attention. My suggestion is to kill directly. The current situation is a bit complex and not suitable for investigating causes.”

The Angel’s eyes showed thought, not responding to his words directly but instead asking again, ”What about the Alchemist?”

Another thin man wearing a Fatty mask stood and respectfully answered, ”The Alchemist’s body age is eighteen, currently at the Silver Lower Tier. Our two members were violently killed. His potential assessment has reached SS, my suggestion is to continue recruiting.”

The Angel nodded but didn’t directly respond, instead scanning the room before calmly saying:

”Today’s plan has changed, too many have died in the army just now, have your people hide, pause all actions. After tonight, there will be no Rose in Dongwu City for the time being.”
