Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 12: Chapter 10: Comprehensive Advancement

The number of Worker Bees increased by ten, and a satisfied look flashed in Baiyi’s eyes. These were the key to killing those two Silver-ranked earlier; those small metal spheres were the Worker Bees.

The Hive is very special; it’s the most expensive and difficult piece of equipment Baiyi owns.

It requires Mithril to build, and each gram of this precious metal costs ten Gold Coins, so constructing a Bronze-level Hive costs at least twenty thousand Gold Coins.

Moreover, the Worker Bees inside the Hive are outrageously expensive, fifty Gold Coins each, and they break easily, which is enough to hire a Transcendent for a month.

For instance, during the recent battle, two exploded, wiping out a month’s salary for Miss Elf.

The three that turned into guns also need maintenance, which costs around thirty Gold Coins.

Outrageously expensive, but truly useful.

A regular Bronze Alchemist dreaming to build their own Hive... dream on. Try working a few years first.

If you fail during construction, you might as well consider jumping off a building; nothing in this world is worth staying for then.

And then there’s the maintenance costs afterward... Before coming to Dongwu City, maintaining this thing at Bronze level was already quite strenuous for Baiyi.

So, it’s said that Alchemists and Mages are poor souls, yet they are extremely wealthy when it comes to their equipment, though they may not have money to eat...

After looking at the attributes of the other two pieces of equipment, Baiyi contentedly closed the panel. The current upgraded equipment is good enough, and there is one Skill Point left, which he plans to keep until he’s stuck with a certain discipline. For now, his brain is still capable of learning more knowledge.

As for the remaining two thousand Experience Points, they will be saved for when he needs to level up.

Beep beep beep...

Baiyi looked at a row of treasure chests, among which one was glowing with white light, indicating that something was being transmitted through the payment counter.

As the white light began to fade, Baiyi walked over and opened the chest. Inside was a stack of brand-new books, and on top was a note that read:

[My friend, the items have been delivered. You now owe me 31,030 Gold Coins, and I plan to deduct this amount from our firearms transaction.]

Baiyi casually flipped through the books, finding descriptions, combinations of various poisons, and engravings of highly poisonous Alchemy Inscriptions.

The boss is not a player; it seems his panel doesn’t allow for one-click learning or breaking knowledge into skills.

But this reasoning is quite sensible; after all, knowledge is just knowledge. For instance, he can upgrade equipment because, at the Bronze level, he had already grasped much of the related knowledge of Silver-level Alchemy Technology.

If it were like players, at the Bronze level, one could only learn Bronze skills, and they’d have to learn each skill one by one, such as Recovery Potion and Spiritual Recovery Potion. Learning these two potions would be two separate skills.

This is because they don’t need to understand the principles; as long as there are enough materials, by using the skill, some fool-proof operations allow the materials to quickly form in their hands.

Hence, Alchemists are not valued among the players. Baiyi initially chose to be an Alchemist simply because he could earn real-world money.

After all, this game is very popular. One Gold Coin equals ten RMB, and a Bronze-level potion sells for dozens of Silver Coins. Grinding for a day could not only level up but also earn two hundred bucks, which is quite profitable, and the higher the level, the faster the earnings increase.

Before crossing over, he was only at Level 21, but could already reach nearly a thousand in a day. Many people plan to enjoy the game’s scenery while making enough to sustain themselves.

This is many times better than toiling away in real life.

Randomly opening a book and beginning to read seriously, with heightened concentration, Baiyi suddenly felt that the understanding of this knowledge was too easy. Some Alchemy Inscriptions required by potions could be understood at a glance; it was almost immediate learning upon seeing.

As knowledge continued to surge into his mind, Baiyi became increasingly engrossed. The Alchemy Demon allowed him to quickly gain mastery over Alchemy.

He was already considered somewhat talented on the path of Alchemy, but now he’s directly transformed into a genius.

Time slowly ticked by, and with the store’s production line gradually ramping up, some polished metals were also transported to a corner of this laboratory.

Baiyi lifted his head, stretched, set aside the knowledge of Alchemy Poison and various formulas, stood up, and headed toward the materials.

Buzz~

As a massive machine was activated, the intense heat twisted the machine’s innards. Baiyi tossed some materials into the machine to begin smelting.

At the same time, Baiyi began assembling the parts that didn’t require smelting, and inscribing each Alchemy Array.

[Your Level has risen to 32, and you gained Extra Experience Value +3000.]

[You crafted a Bronze Barrett.....]

In the High Concentration Specialty, Baiyi lost track of time. Whenever his Spirit felt fatigued from inscribing Alchemy Inscriptions, he would drink a Spiritual Recovery Potion.

However, high-quality ones are indeed scarce, forcing him to start consuming externally purchased Mage Potions now.

Nonetheless, such relentless work had its benefits: a batch of munitions originally scheduled for completion in half a month was crafted within ten days by Baiyi.

If not limited by materials, he felt he might have attempted a Silver-level Barrett.

Yet Baiyi’s Barrets are all extreme products, featuring Energy Bursts in Alchemy, where each shot nearly reaches the limit of the toughest alloy, with Alchemy Inscriptions primarily reinforcing the gun’s structure.

Reaching the material’s limit equates to the power limit. Currently, the damage these materials can inflict can already overshadow their inherent flaws at this price range.

After attaching the last scope, Baiyi not even thinking, reclined backward with a pale face, using the last bit of will to glance at the current panel, and then, with a smile, succumbed to sleep.
