Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start

Chapter 4: Chapter 2: Alchemy Demon

As the golden light faded, Baiyi clasped his hands, feeling that his strength seemed to have increased slightly, and his spiritual power had also been enhanced.

Most importantly, the magic within his body now had some silver brilliance. Is this... a direct metamorphosis?

And then there was the panel that was mentioned just now...

Baiyi felt a thrill; when he came to this world, he had called out to the panel countless times but to no avail.

Now.... the players will arrive in one year and three months.

He now possessed the ability of a prophet. At least the general outline would still occur, the butterfly’s wings could influence many things, but they couldn’t affect the decisions of the gods.

Concentrating his mind, with a swish, a long panel appeared.

Baiyi’s eyes lit up; specialties were essentially passive skills, like a warrior’s high resistance, and this boss template meant receiving a passive every ten levels, which was very strong.

No wonder those bosses were so hard to kill; each passive could be considered strength beyond combat power.

For instance, if we are all Level 10 warriors, and I have one more passive to improve defense, I could easily defeat those without a passive.

Previously in the game, he had farmed the Alchemist’s High Concentration for a long time, but... what on earth was Crafty Merchant?

Ignoring these minor details, Baiyi shifted his attention to [Alchemy Demon].

This was the most powerful asset for an Alchemist; every Alchemist, upon reaching Silver, would choose a path of Alchemy to specialize in.

That is, to focus on learning either potion, technology, or transformation.

Of course, only players had forced options, natives didn’t, but everyone still chose a specialization.

The reason is simple. No genius can master the vast knowledge system of Alchemy because no one will directly shove knowledge into your brain; you need to learn it bit by bit.

And also create your own new path, which is your own Alchemy Knowledge.

And time is limited, with research to conduct, so learning must have priorities.

After making a specialization choice, reaching the Silver Upper Tier, the difficulty of Alchemy keeps escalating, and the three categories are further subdivided: energy and matter in technology, deadly poison, curses, and boons in potion, mechanical transformation, and flesh distortion in transformation.

Although they all have a complementary feel, each branch contains vast knowledge repositories.

And the Alchemy Demon doubles the comprehension rate, meaning Baiyi has more time to learn other Alchemy Knowledge.

Whether specializing in one or developing multiple fields, there are more choices.

Baiyi’s slightly pale face reddened, and he quickly focused on the boss specialties to choose from; after all, there were three passives, which meant a direct power surge.

[You have unlocked one selectable boss specialty.]

[Please choose one of the three specialties.]

[Magic Spring — Your magic will be purified, increasing the quality of your Alchemy Array by 30%.]

Baiyi’s eyes lit up, what is this? Baiyi only saw that his future Alchemy Products’ prices would double.

Continuing to look down.

[Spiritual Growth — Every time you improve, your spirit will also improve, currently increasing by 90.]

Baiyi’s heart fluttered fiercely; for an Alchemist, spiritual power is undoubtedly very important. Strong spiritual power means a higher success rate in crafting potions or making weapons.

Moreover, spiritual power also signifies the potential of the Alchemist and can even study some spiritual attack methods of a Spiritual Master, enhancing the Alchemist’s combat power.

Baiyi looked at the last one.

[Power Growth — Every time you improve, your physical strength will also increase, currently increasing by 30.]

After some hesitation, Baiyi still chose Spiritual Growth; while the purification of magic was undeniably important, looking at Baiyi’s Intelligence and Spirit Attributes made it clear that he was originally an Alchemist specializing in spirit.

The main selling point is the low failure rate and extensive knowledge.

As for power growth... Alchemists never rely on fighting themselves. Even if they have to, how about checking out alchemy transformation?

With mechanical limbs or direct flesh mutation, a Silver Alchemist is more than capable of engaging in hand-to-hand combat with a Silver Warrior. Although there’s not much skill, great strength brings miracles!

With a single effort, Baiyi immediately activated the remaining two specialty selections.

Among the six options, five were about endurance (defense and health), agility, and power.

Although these body attributes are exaggerated in every boss, Baiyi, as a scholar, never lacks for henchmen and equipment.

However, this specialty is indeed fascinating, as if it’s tailor-made for him. One can only say, isn’t it worthy of the boss template?

[Spiritual Defense---Your spiritual power will naturally build a solid defense on the body, which grows with the increase in spiritual power.]

And the last choice Baiyi made was.

[Soul Gourmet---You can increase soul strength by consuming souls. The stronger the soul, the stronger the spirit.]

After making his choices, Baiyi felt his spirit continuously expanding, looking at the magnificent panel, his mood was thoroughly uplifted.

He saw hope; the alchemy technology created by the legendary Great Alchemist Sage could even shake the gods. The Star Federation in the north is considered the strongest among the three federations.

Because that sage specialized in Technology, his weapons could easily resist or even kill a Legendary.

Moreover, the Star Federation also has a Legendary Mage, which makes things notably stable.

Once the Alchemy Sage doesn’t have to worry about being instantly killed, other professions can see the terrifying nature of the alchemy profession.

After glancing at Old Wolf, Baiyi walked out in high spirits, with three round little machines once again flying out from the hem of his coat, dragging Old Wolf away.

Wolf meat wasn’t as delicious as expected, especially this kind of Old Wolf meat, so it’s better to dispose of it.

Out in the outer room, Baiyi looked at the wind and snow on the projection screen, starting to ponder.

Old Wolf escaped to the time players descended, which was a year and three months.

During this time, Baiyi needed to carefully plan, what is the difference between the boss template and the NPC template?

Can tasks be assigned to players? Can tasks be accepted?

These are important questions, as for whether he’ll be cut down as a monster by players,

That won’t happen. He just needs to get a position within the Dawn Federation to avoid being attacked.

After all, Dawn Ascension itself was to help the Federation, as long as there’s a positive influence on the Federation, players can’t attack that NPC.

Thinking, Baiyi suddenly spoke: ”Connect to Mr. Sabo.”

”Okay, please wait a moment.”

The communication device lit up with a faint light, as alchemy array texts gradually formed a symbol, quickly followed by a sharp voice with a hint of craftiness: ”Oh, my friend, you finally contacted me. I have been waiting for a long time.”

”Mr. Sabo, speak freely, with our relationship there’s no need to beat around the bush,” Baiyi smiled.

The alchemy profession, like the mages, are major spenders, a large portion of his experience points were thanks to this dwarf helping out.

Sabo’s voice also carried joy: ”Mr. Baiyi is as straightforward as ever. Okay, then I’ll be frank, our border warriors have made a name for your newly developed energy gun.

Now the Will Family wants to purchase five hundred energy guns from you. When are you available, we can discuss the price.”

”Five hundred?” Baiyi’s tone suddenly showed a trace of excitement.

”Yes, five hundred.” Sabo’s tone was equally excited: ”I don’t need to explain what the Will Family represents, do I?”

Baiyi calmed his excitement: ”As always, Mr. Sabo, I can work overtime, as long as the materials are in place, it can be done in about half a month.”

”My friend, your speed always amazes me. I understand, the materials will arrive at your warehouse in the evening, so I’ll leave it at that. I need to entertain some friends from afar.” Sabo said with a laugh and hung up.

Baiyi couldn’t stop the smile on his face.

The Energy Gun is an alchemy weapon made by Baiyi using the Energy Science from Alchemy Technology, modeled after Barrett.

It’s no longer a gun that requires gunpowder propulsion, but a small explosion of extraordinary energy launches the special bullets, with kinetic energy more powerful than the original Barrett.

Plus, it has an extraordinary attribute, so the strongest weapon Baiyi can create now can take down warriors below level thirty without special talents, as well as unprepared mages.

His thirty reputation points came from this.

Meanwhile, Sabo is the Quartermaster of Dongwu City, a dwarf, and the bridge between Baiyi and the official cooperation in Dongwu City, and he’s been skimming profits from it.

Most importantly, since Baiyi has crafted several practical items, Sabo can be considered Baiyi’s business agent.

And Baiyi also discovered Sabo’s talent, like some materials worth about thirty gold coins, market price around three hundred.

Baiyi might price it at four hundred, which he considers to be the limit.

After all, one gold coin equals ten thousand copper coins, and a farmer’s annual income is about two thousand copper coins, or twenty silver coins.

An increase of a hundred is already quite ruthless, but if Sabo sells it, even if they split fifty-fifty, Baiyi would certainly earn more than selling it himself.

And he doesn’t need to provide the raw materials.

This time perhaps he can exchange for more advanced alchemy knowledge from the Federation.

Standing up, Baiyi picked up the communicator and walked outside.

He needs to return to Dongwu City.

The golden finger has been obtained, but this is still a secret base, and some secrets he doesn’t want others to know can also be moved here.
