Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Chapter 69: Chapter 67: It’s Not Like I’m Teaching Her Certain Techniques, Why Are You So Nervous?

Leon Lynch’s lips curved into a faint smile, completely wiping away the melancholy from his eyes.

”Alright. I haven’t seen you in so long, I’ve been going crazy missing you. Now that I finally get to see you, of course I can’t leave.” He grabbed her wrist, pulling Nora Ainsworth right in front of him.

Before Nora Ainsworth could speak, Leon Lynch had already pushed her a step forward, then followed closely behind.

Caught off guard, Nora Ainsworth stumbled forward from the momentum. She could already feel a sharp gaze from somewhere boring into her back, so intense it felt like it could burn a hole right through her.

She didn’t look back, just kept walking straight ahead.

Herman Hawthorne stood there calmly, watching them. The corner of his mouth lifted as he said unhurriedly, ”As her boyfriend, I must defend my rights. I’ll be on my way.”

He deliberately winked at Quentin Grant before chasing after Leon Lynch.

No one knew that Quentin Grant, standing there stock-still, felt as if his heart was about to explode. ’He was her man, for god’s sake!’

But now, all he could do was watch helplessly. And whenever he remembered that he was the one who had forced her to be his secret lover, his anger would dissipate.

”Quentin—”

The woman beside him called out his name again at that moment.

Quentin Grant looked down at her, his expression impatient. ”I’m busy.”

With that, he shook off her arm and walked toward Ethan Ellsworth.

Sharon Ainsworth had dressed to the nines and come here tonight in eager anticipation, all because she’d heard Quentin Grant would be attending. She’d been thrilled after linking her arm with his and making that provocative statement, but in just a short time, he had reverted to his usual cold self.

Leaning against the pool table with a cue in hand, Ethan Ellsworth whistled. ”It’s interview time. May I ask how Young Master Grant feels about the scene that just unfolded?”

Quentin Grant wrapped an arm around his neck from behind, nearly choking the life out of Ethan Ellsworth.

”This is how I feel,” he said in a low voice.

Catching his breath, Ethan Ellsworth coughed twice and had a sudden realization. ”Ah, so it’s a feeling of suffocation. Well, congratulations then. You’ve successfully fallen in love.”

Quentin Grant’s mood suddenly soured. He warned, ”If you dare spout any more nonsense, I’ll make sure you’re never allowed in my house again.”

Ethan Ellsworth waved his hand dejectedly. ”Fine, I won’t say it. It’s not like there’s any difference whether I can go to your house or not these days anyway.”

Quentin Grant suddenly fell silent. He looked over toward Jean Grant. She was happily playing pool with Marlon Marshall, not paying Ethan Ellsworth the slightest bit of attention.

He then glanced in the other direction. Nora Ainsworth was standing with her back to them. Leon Lynch was focused on his game, but Herman Hawthorne kept shooting Quentin furtive, malevolent glances.

Quentin Grant couldn’t be bothered to watch anymore. ”Ethan, let’s go.”

Ethan Ellsworth scoffed, ”Can’t stand to watch? Are you really just going to stand by while your woman interacts with her ex-fiancé?”

”Do you have a better idea?” Quentin Grant shot him a glance.

He put down his cue and smiled confidently. ”Of course I do. How else do you think I charm so many women? Looks alone are nowhere near enough!”

Quentin Grant grunted. ”Let’s see it, then.”

With that, Ethan Ellsworth strode toward the trio.

In reality, Nora Ainsworth was nowhere near as calm as she appeared. ’I really want to see the look on Quentin Grant’s face,’ she thought, ’but then again, I don’t need to look to know he can’t possibly be pleased right now.’

Leon Lynch had noticed she wasn’t focused. He desperately wanted to know: was she really in that kind of relationship with Herman Hawthorne?

But at the same time, he was afraid of hearing an answer he didn’t want to hear.

So, he remained silent.

The three of them barely exchanged a word.

But things were different once Ethan Ellsworth arrived.

”Hey, Nora,” he said. ”We know each other pretty well by now. How about you let big brother here teach you how to play?”

Leon Lynch stopped what he was doing. ”No need to trouble Young Master Ellsworth. I can teach her.”

Ethan Ellsworth tutted. ”I’m just teaching her to play pool, not teaching her certain... *other* skills. Why are you so tense?”

Leon Lynch suddenly chuckled. ”That’s even less of Young Master Ellsworth’s business. Someone will naturally teach her.”

Not to be outdone, Ethan Ellsworth shot back, ”Yes, someone will indeed teach her. Right, Herman?” He shot a flirtatious wink at Herman Hawthorne.

Leon Lynch’s expression was impassive, but a playful glint appeared in his eyes. ”Ethan Ellsworth isn’t wrong. And I think I’ll be the one to teach her, and teach her well. So you needn’t trouble yourselves.”

Herman Hawthorne’s voice was low. ”That’s hardly the case. Young Master Lynch has no shortage of women he wants to teach. He used to be a fixture on the front page of every major weekly magazine. Speaking of which, Nora’s leave is just about over for today. Nora, I’m heading back to the training camp now. You are to come with me. Let’s go.”

Caught in the middle, Nora Ainsworth wanted nothing more than to play dead, but she couldn’t remain silent.

”Yes, Boss.”

The air seemed to freeze. Nora Ainsworth looked at the silent man whose lips were pressed into a tight line. ”Leon,” she said, ”looks like we won’t be playing pool tonight. I have to go.”

For a moment, a hazy, indistinct look flickered in Leon Lynch’s eyes. ”Alright. Call me when you get out.”

Nora Ainsworth suddenly felt a bit cruel. She knew full well why Herman Hawthorne had mentioned the training camp and why Ethan Ellsworth had come over. It was all because of a certain man.

And yet, she still had to say this to Leon Lynch.

”Mmm.”

Leon Lynch put down his cue and walked away, his posture elegant and free.

His retreating figure looked proud and lonely, his gait a little unsteady, but he nevertheless vanished from Nora Ainsworth’s sight.

The group walked over to Quentin Grant, who was sitting on the sofa.

With a sudden push from Ethan Ellsworth, Nora Ainsworth lost her footing and fell right on top of Quentin Grant. Nora’s heart hammered in her chest. She glanced around frantically—Sharon Ainsworth was gone. Only Jean Grant and Marlon Marshall were still there, their backs to them as they played pool.

She scrambled to her feet, speechless.

Quentin Grant sneered, ”Did you enjoy your time with Leon Lynch?”

”We just ran into each other by chance. I couldn’t find you.”

Quentin Grant stood up. ”Downstairs.”

The group left together, their original plans to play pool completely ruined.

Outside the main entrance, a cold wind gusted past. Nora Ainsworth’s legs were trembling slightly. She followed Quentin Grant into a stretch Lincoln, while Ethan Ellsworth went to get his own Lamborghini. Herman Hawthorne, meanwhile, had ended up as the chauffeur.

The car door closed, and an instant later, her chin was seized in a harsh grip. She met his gaze and realized this was the first time she had ever seen him truly angry.

He rarely flew into a rage, usually just sneering coldly. But today, she could clearly see the prelude to an explosion in his eyes.

”What... what are you doing?” A fear that bloomed from the bottom of her heart showed plainly on Nora Ainsworth’s face.

”What am I doing? That’s a good question. Nora Ainsworth, your memory isn’t just bad, it’s terrible. Today, I’m going to make you see exactly whose woman you are!”

With a flick of his large hand, he unzipped her down jacket. In an instant, the bulky garment was stripped from her body.

The temperature inside the car began to rise, bit by bit. The heat was clearly on.
