Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The Tragic Woman

After Granny Chen was beaten up by Second Lai’s mother and his sister, she turned her anger towards He Hongyu, ”He Zhqing, tell me, who exactly do you want to marry?”

Second Lai’s mother also glared at He Hongyu, threatening, ”He Zhqing, my son has seen everything, so you must marry him, or else I’ll have him sleep with you right now.”

Granny Chen angrily retorted, ”Second Lai’s mother, your son only looked, but my son and He Zhqing have already cooked the rice, so He Zhqing is already my son’s. Are you still trying to snatch her? Do you have any shame?”

”What’s the use of shame? I want a daughter-in-law.”

”You... you old thing, trying to act shamelessly in front of me, see if I don’t beat you to death.”

”Come on, who’s afraid of whom.”

Seeing the two women about to start fighting again, the village chief hurriedly shouted, ”Enough, stop arguing. He Zhqing, explain, what’s going on? Why did you come to the Chen Family?”

Such a big incident had happened in the village, and the new female educated youth was involved. The village chief put aside the grain distribution affairs to quickly deal with this matter.

But both the Chen Family and the Second Lai Family were being shameless, both wanting He Hongyu as their daughter-in-law and not giving in, making the village chief almost wish he could split He Hongyu into two halves—one for each family.

”He Zhqing, speak up?”

Seeing that He Hongyu remained silent for so long, the village chief lost his patience.

Someone jeered, ”He Zhqing, were you kidnapped by Chen Shengjun?”

Another chimed in, ”No way, if Chen Shengjun had really kidnapped her, someone would have seen. Before, He Zhqing was at the square watching the grain distribution.”

”It must be, don’t forget, Chen Shengjun had tried to molest Yuan Chun before.”

”Tsk tsk tsk, could it really be that Chen Shengjun kidnapped He Zhqing and then raped her?”

”Then why didn’t He Zhqing scream for help?”

”Yes, yes, why didn’t she call for help? It seemed like she was actually enjoying it, look how Chen Shengjun nourished her little face, oh my, even my old face is blushing.”

”Pei, shameless.”

”And she’s from the city, turns out city girls are so lewd, couldn’t wait to climb into a man’s bed as soon as she arrived in our village.”

”Oh yeah, just now at the square, I was praising He Zhqing for being sensible... pei pei pei, now I just want to slap myself.”

”Thank goodness Yuan Chun didn’t agree to teach her farming, otherwise working with such a little trollop would have corrupted Yuan Chun.”

As Grandma Feng had just arrived, she heard this and glared angrily at Granny Zhang, ”Talk about He Zhqing if you want, but don’t bring my Yuan Chun into this, my Yuan Chun has nothing to do with He Zhqing.”

”Oh, it’s just one thing leading to another, Ms. Ding, don’t be angry, I apologize.” Granny Zhang was good friends with Grandma Feng and apologized on the spot.

Grandma Feng didn’t hold a grudge either, and she and Granny Zhang, as good friends, held hands and watched the spectacle together.

Chen Shengjun, being accused of abduction and rape and ridiculed by others, couldn’t stay silent any longer and explained, ”I didn’t abduct anyone or rape He Zhqing. We’re seeing each other willingly, you can ask He Zhqing if you don’t believe me.”

Everyone’s eyes immediately turned to He Hongyu.

He Hongyu finally couldn’t hold back and started to cry, ”I... I don’t know what happened either, I wasn’t kidnapped by Comrade Chen Shengjun. I came to find Comrade Chen Shengjun to ask him to teach me farming, sob sob... Before, I asked Comrade Feng Yuanchun to teach me, but she refused, so I came to find Comrade Chen Shengjun...”
