Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Tragic Woman 22

”Madam Gousheng, where are you off to?”

Qiu Guihua stepped out and grabbed Madam Gousheng’s clothes, ”I remember it’s not yet your turn to collect grain, is it? Why aren’t you watching over at the square but running to the back of the village?”

”Oh dear, something big has happened.” Madam Gousheng stamped her foot excitedly, ”Madam Qiu, something major has happened at the Old Chen Family, everyone is rushing there to watch the spectacle.”

”What’s happened?” Qiu Guihua perked up immediately upon hearing something was up with the Old Chen Family, ”It’s so serious you can’t even bother about the grain, has Granny Chen died?”

”Hmph, that Granny Chen’s life isn’t going anywhere, the ones involved are Chen Shengjun and that newly arrived female educated youth from a few days ago, what’s her name again... I think it’s He, yes, her last name is He, He Zhqing, she and Chen Shengjun got into bed, the noise was so loud that even Er Laizi, who was dragging grain home, heard it.”

Er Laizi’s house is right next to the Chen’s.

The thatched cottage doesn’t block sound, Chen Shengjun and He Hongyu were like they were having an open-air rendezvous; of course Er Laizi heard the noise.

Though Er Laizi is an old bachelor, he hasn’t been shy about sneaking into the beds of a few old widows in the village. As soon as he heard the sounds, he knew exactly what was happening.

At first, he thought it was Li Woniu acting wild in broad daylight, pulling Chen Shengjin into shenanigans.

Later, upon hearing the unfamiliar female voice, he sneaked into Chen’s house and found it was Chen Shengjin and the newly arrived female educated youth. Er Laizi greedily eyed the fair and tender body of the female educated youth, and with a rush of excitement, he charged into the room, wanting a turn.

Just then, He Hongyu woke from the medicine.

Seeing that she and Chen Shengjun had already become a done deal, joy filled her heart; now, a future position as the wealthy wife surely wouldn’t belong to Feng Yuanchun but to her, He Hongyu.

But as she turned her head, she saw her husband from her past life, Er Laizi was also in the room.

He Hongyu was instantly scared into a scream.

And this scream drew over Er Laizi’s mother and sister from next door.

Granny Chen, with her three sons, was just returning with the grain.

And so, the unfortunate scoundrel and loose woman were surrounded by a group in bed, with Er Laizi half-undressed standing by the side.

Both the Chen’s and Er Laizi’s family are poor, the sons are all bachelors, and Er Laizi’s mother wanted to pull a fast one, wanting to claim He Hongyu as her daughter-in-law.

Granny Chen wouldn’t have it.

He Hongyu is an educated youth from the city, definitely well-off, and besides, He Hongyu willingly delivered herself for her son to sleep with; this daughter-in-law wouldn’t be handed to Er Laizi for free by Granny Chen.

The two old women didn’t care about the still-naked Chen Shengjin and He Hongyu and started arguing, eventually coming to blows.

It wasn’t long before the commotion reached the other side of the square.

Immediately, no one could bother about distributing grain anymore, they all hurried to watch the spectacle of a woman riding two men.

”Oh my, not talking anymore, if we’re late, we’ll miss the fun.” Madam Gousheng shook off Qiu Guihua and ran away.

Qiu Guihua also wanted to join in, but remembering it was a Chen family spectacle, she hurried home to call her sisters-in-law to go with her.

Grandma Feng chuckled and said, ”Let’s go, all of us, to watch the Old Chen’s family drama; it’s better than eating meat.”

Then she told her eldest granddaughter-in-law, ”Guoping’s wife, you’d better not go, it’s too crowded there, you might get bumped.”

Qiu Guihua also instructed her eldest son, ”Guoping, stay behind with Chunli, take out the iron rake for tomorrow’s use, make sure it’s smooth.”

Of course, this sordid affair was not something for the children to attend.

Yuan Chun had already slipped away beforehand, and was now already at the Chen house entrance.
