Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

When Chen Ming arrived at the open hatch of the spaceship.

Outside he could see a Space Station.

At this moment, their spaceship was docked at the space station’s port.

As Chen Ming disembarked from the spaceship, he saw the port was completely empty, with only the spaceship he arrived in docked there.

This seemed similar to the ecological observation space station at Zuo Jing where he had been before.

If Chen Ming guessed correctly, the deepest part of this Space Station should also have a lab-like area.

Chen Ming turned his head to look at Thousand Faces, who stood near the open hatch of the spaceship without disembarking, and asked, ”Are you planning to leave me here to guard?”

”What else could it be?”

As expected.

Thousand Faces’ rhetorical question confirmed Zuo Jing’s intentions to Chen Ming.

They brought him here instead of the four Star Systems, obviously using him as bait.

There would certainly be many clues here that seemed connected to that Psychic at Zuo Jing, but in fact had nothing to do with it.

That’s quite normal.

Zuo Jing isn’t foolish, they wouldn’t put him in a truly critical place.

No one trusts a newly joined member, who was even forced to join, in just half a month.

But since the situation has turned out like this, he needs to find a chance to leave, as there’s no opportunity here anymore.

Four Star Systems, where on earth is Zuo Jing’s Psychic?

Thousand Faces retorted to An Wuping with, ”Isn’t this what we previously agreed upon?”

He took a metal box out of his pocket, and casually tossed it to Chen Ming.

”Your medicine for the next half month.”

Chen Ming caught the box steadily, opened it for a glance, and asked, ”Not giving it day by day this time?”

”I have other matters to attend to, bringing you here was my last task.”

”Where are you headed?”

”That’s my business, it has nothing to do with you.”

”You just need to guard this Space Station for two weeks. We’ll provide you with a full course of medicine, then we’re even.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Ming found it hard to sustain his composure, sensing further deceit from Thousand Faces.

”I think you intend for me to die here.”

Thousand Faces turned to look at the empty port, with not a single spaceship except theirs, and said, ”In twenty-four hours, there will be another spaceship coming to retrieve you. If you can’t hold it, then retreat.”

”At that time, we’ll directly transport you to the base we previously stayed at, I’ll leave the medicine there. If you’re interested in joining us, wait for me there.”

”If not, then that’s it.”

Thousand Faces’ words seemed to relax their requirements.

But just then, Chen Ming suddenly felt the brain of the second An Wuping he replaced in his backpack being subtly influenced by Spiritual Energy.

Thousand Faces’ verbal invitation was quietly imprinted onto this brain through the influence.

If Chen Ming had not changed brains and noticed,

it’s likely he really would have waited there to join Zuo Jing as Thousand Faces said.

No matter how friendly Zuo Jing might seem, they’re just pretending to be the good guys, in reality they’re still a cult organization, nothing more to say.

Chen Ming shook his head, pretending as if he hadn’t noticed anything, and responded.

He firmly stood on the ground of the Space Station.

Thousand Faces decisively turned back onto the spaceship, the hatch closed.

The spaceship embarked again.

Chen Ming said nothing, silently watching the spaceship disappear from the port.

He refused the accommodation arrangement from Zuo Jing’s members, then leaned on the nearby wall and waited.

Finally, when Thousand Faces’ spaceship entered Superspace.

Confirming the direction they traveled was towards the four Star Systems found by the president.

Chen Ming suddenly muttered to himself: ”Dare to leave me guarding alone here? Might as well raid your lab.”

Of course, he said this half-jokingly, as he wasn’t interested in managing Zuo Jing’s lab that required extensive human experimentation.

He still had to wait a bit, to confirm thoroughly through Thousand Faces exactly which Star System Zuo Jing was in.

During this waiting process, what he could do was figure out what’s happening in this Space Station.

Zuo Jing’s goal seemed clear, which was to delay time.

Dragging Chen Ming to a new Star System to work on security rather than the four others,

not only prevents him from turning against and causing trouble but also uses him as bait to attract others’ attention, indeed a clever strategy.

Thus, this Space Station serves as a trap set with bait.

However, just using An Wuping as bait seems insufficient. Although it might suffice for Audan, others might not necessarily be affected.

There should be other bait placed on the Space Station, and there might be some actual traps capable of harming those who arrive.

Ultimately, since the security task of the Space Station was assigned to him, he should take the opportunity to take control of the Space Station, gather intelligence, and understand Zuo Jing’s operations.

Without the Psychic’s restrictions, without the Psychic’s obstructions, Chen Ming could effortlessly take over the entire Space Station, without worrying about exposure.

As his own Spiritual Energy spread throughout the Space Station, Chen Ming quickly analyzed the current situation of this Space Station from the core area’s database.

Simply put, the core area of this Space Station was conducting research on a project Chen Ming was very familiar with: the Spirit Beast Project.
