Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

This Cruiser, painted in government colors but actually under Zuo Jing’s control, was a mass‑produced model that Sinda Corporation sold in huge numbers to the outside world—the Defender.

The Defender’s heavy Weapons could charge faster than Chen Ming could move.

Before he even got close, the three heavy Weapons had already fired a barrage of Binding Energy Bullets.

But before charging out from the Space Station, Chen Ming had already picked his route, and it just happened to lie exactly along the firing line of one of the heavy Weapons.

He didn’t dodge at all, just tanked the barrage of Binding Energy Bullets—each almost half a person in size—and rushed straight at the Defender.

The Binding Energy Bullets from the other two heavy Weapons flew past Chen Ming and slammed into the Space Station’s external Armor.

But that also gave the Weapon operators on the Defender a small taste of Psychic shock.

And in the Defender’s bridge—

The captain in charge of command quickly received several reports from his subordinates.

”The Energy Confinement Bombs from the top Automatic Pulse Laser got bounced away by some unknown thing!”

But the captain, who had been briefed in advance about the trouble they might run into this trip and had also just seen the scene of the Energy Confinement Bombs being deflected, didn’t share his crew’s panic, because that wasn’t some unknown thing...

He gave an order to switch a high‑precision sensor from scanning the Space Station to locking onto the area beside their ship.

At the not‑yet‑fully‑deployed edge of the Shield, close to the hull—

He saw a pitch‑black monster ram straight through a charged‑to‑the‑brim gun barrel and force its way in.

An intact Automatic Pulse Laser Cannon was instantly smashed to pieces by the black monster, tons of mechanized structures and metal fragments blasting backward along the ship under the impact.

The Energy that had been built up to the absolute limit lost its target and could only spill out from the shattered, broken conduits.

In an instant, violent Arcs erupted from the Cruiser breach Chen Ming had smashed open and from the load‑bearing mounts of the destroyed heavy Weapon.

Massive sections of circuitry were destroyed.

The captain immediately issued an order to the ship’s wartime maintenance department: ”Cut the power! Prevent the batteries from chain‑detonating!”

Aside from the maintenance department’s responses, the comm channel was now filled only with fearful shouting.

”What do we do?!”

”How the fuck would I know?!”

The bickering on the comms made the captain’s head throb.

Even knowing in advance what kind of enemy they might be facing this time was useless, and nobody had told him the Psychic they were up against this time was a Psychic who could tank a Cruiser’s most important heavy Weapon head‑on.

Against someone they literally couldn’t even scratch, why the hell were they the ones sent to deal with him?

The captain felt a bit suffocated, but they were already on the battlefield, so all they could do was act.

A straight fight was impossible, and being tagged and closed in on by a Psychic who could move in open space on his bare body was absolutely fatal.

The situation couldn’t be dragged out; there was only one solution.

Run.

The captain managed to stay relatively calm, came up with a plan, and immediately issued orders.

”Don’t try to hit that bastard with close‑range Weapons. Helm, spin up the Engines idle first, prep for a burst acceleration, see if we can shake him.”

”If we do shake him, initiate a short‑range warp jump. We cannot give him another chance to close in.”

The captain’s orders were quickly relayed to the relevant departments.

And they were also relayed straight into Chen Ming’s ears.

Right now, even though he was operating the An Wuping puppet and using the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy—

His own Spiritual Energy, as long as it didn’t risk exposing him, he’d absolutely use.

And controlling a Cruiser at his current level was nothing, and wouldn’t expose anything either, as long as he didn’t directly hijack the Cruiser and go nuts with it.

So at this moment, every movement on the Defender was crystal clear to Chen Ming.

Which meant he had zero intention of giving this Defender any chance to run.

He clenched his fists and raised them beside his head, lifted his right leg high; the Insect Race muscles in his body gathering the power coming from the Insect Queen.

When that power peaked, Chen Ming stomped down hard on the Armor beneath him on the Defender’s dorsal side.

One brutal kick.

Made the Defender, sailing through space, lurch as if it had just been smacked by a meteor.

The ship itself warped violently, its originally straight hull bending into a V‑shape, both sides at roughly thirty degrees.

Right under Chen Ming’s foot—

The Defender’s Cruiser‑grade Armor had been completely shattered, and every system directly below was annihilated by the impact.

Almost all Zuo Jing crew in the mid‑section of the ship were pulped into meat paste by the violent shock and hull deformation.

The hull had suffered structural damage; the front and rear halves of the ship had completely lost their structural linkage, with only the outer Armor barely holding the general shape together.

Under that impact, the people in the bridge were all thrown around, bodies scattered across the floor. Many of them would never get up again.

Only the captain managed to barely brace himself against the console in front of him and keep his posture.

But he still slammed his head into the console; his forehead and right eye were covered in blood.

The searing pain jolted him briefly back to clarity, but in the next instant, his gaze was drowned by confusion and terror.

Because on the sensors, that pitch‑black monster was lifting his right leg again and stomping down on the Defender.

From the moment the Defender entered the range of its own mounted Automatic Pulse Lasers to now, not even thirty seconds had passed.
