Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

However, the fleet outside didn’t rush to go in at this time.

It might be because of the chairman’s previous request.

He said they should wait until they have the direct capability to strike Zuo Jing and completely terminate it before going in, to avoid giving Zuo Jing a chance to make a last-ditch struggle.

However, Chen Ming quickly realized that this might not be the case.

Because the number of fleets surrounding these star systems had reached an outrageous level.

Moreover, even looking with the naked eye, besides the fleets of the Fifth Legion, there were some unknown fleets keeping a safe distance from the Fifth Legion.

It seemed like other organizations were involved.

Besides guarding against the possible presence of Zuo Jing within the star systems, the Fifth Legion also had to prevent these people from entering the star systems before them.

Are they trying to grab a share because they’re about to find the target?

If that’s truly the case, then these people are really disgusting.

Chen Ming made an assessment in his mind and had his fleet approach the fleet clusters on the edge of the star systems.

The arrival of the Dusk Fleet understandably attracted a majority of the attention.

And suddenly, among the four star systems, the Fifth Legion in the Lucy Star System sent out a notice to the surrounding fleet clusters, directly categorizing Chen Ming’s fleet as allies.

The other three places remained quiet for the time being; Chen Ming merely had the fleets there stay a safe distance away without further instructions.

After all, the main force resolving the Cai Mo Star Realm situation was the Fifth Legion, and he was happy to cooperate.

But just as he was about to proactively contact the Fifth Legion commanding the fleet encircling the Lucy Star Realm.

The chairman suddenly made a call.

Chen Ming delayed contacting the Fifth Legion in the Lucy Star Realm and turned to answer the chairman’s call.

There seemed to be some urgency on the chairman’s side, as he quickly asked Chen Ming, ”Did you know about the assassination incident?”

”I basically know, the news spread very quickly.”

”Good that you know, I have an important task to do next, so I’ll tell you what needs to be told, and then you handle it.”

The chairman didn’t disclose what important task he was going to do, if he needed to say anything, he wouldn’t hide it.

So Chen Ming didn’t press further and waited for the chairman to continue.

”Let me tell you the most important information first, regarding the movements of Zuo Jing.”

Upon hearing Zuo Jing, Chen Ming eagerly asked, ”Have their exact locations been confirmed?”

The chairman shook his head, pouring cold water on Chen Ming’s enthusiasm: ”No, it’s impossible to locate them precisely within these four star systems, they are just in these four systems, definitely can’t escape, currently, the main thing is coordinating manpower.”

”The Fifth Legion’s manpower is actually insufficient?”

”Because of the thing Zuo Jing did.”

”Their people infiltrated the communication network management department of the Cai Mo Star Realm and released a video using the Star Realm Government’s authority.”

”What video?”

”A video introducing their research results on dimensional infection, along with supporting research documents also uploaded to a public academic resource exchange website.”

”They directly explained their project of using Spirit Beasts to grant people resistance to dimensional infection, and using that resistance to gain power from the infection.”

”These things were basically banned as soon as Zuo Jing released them, so it’s understandable you didn’t know, but many people already saw the content.”

Chen Ming didn’t expect Zuo Jing would just throw out the things they researched.

He uncertainly expressed his thoughts to the chairman: ”Is publicly releasing this akin to directly posting the blueprint for making a nuclear bomb, and this nuclear bomb’s manufacturing technology could be something a slightly competent research entity or even individuals have the capability to manufacture?”

”You could think of it that way, but that’s not important, what’s important is the last sentence they said.”

”The power of dimensional infection can be seized.”

”And I’ve checked, their research results are valid, the power of dimensional infection indeed can be successfully harnessed with Zuo Jing’s research, and can indeed be captured by others.”

”Because this power doesn’t originate from the Psychic themselves, but from the flesh of the dimensional infection.”

”Anyway, the success of Zuo Jing is definitely not what we want to see.”

Can be seized.

Upon hearing these words, Chen Ming already understood what Zuo Jing wanted to do.

This was an open conspiracy, wanting to make the Empire lose its head over the allure of this force that could affect the entire Empire.

And the deeper reason they did this, Chen Ming presumed, likely was what Thousand Faces hinted at during a previous call.

They need time.

”They want to buy time.”

Chen Ming directly voiced his thoughts.

The chairman immediately agreed: ”They do want to buy time, and also muddy the waters.”

”It’s fine that they released the entire process of the cloning experiments, as the Empire can basically block the material, plus there’s a cloning ban, so the situation is controllable.”

”The main issue now is that Zuo Jing is about to produce a nearly finished product, a product that others can seize.”

”Many people have been fooled, starting to harbor thoughts they shouldn’t have, wanting to get involved.”

”But they simply don’t understand the risks that a power from dimensional infection would bring.”

Now Chen Ming understood why there were so many fleets near the four star systems marked by the chairman that didn’t belong to the Fifth Legion.
