Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

If it really would lead to a mental runaway, then when he obtained the next new Spiritual Energy trait, there should’ve been a danger warning.

Thinking of this, Chen Ming finally let go of his worries.

But he still faintly felt something was off, like he’d overlooked something.

Yet whatever he’d overlooked didn’t seem to have any impact, nor did it give him any sense of danger.

Chen Ming couldn’t think of it for the moment, so he just let it go and didn’t dwell on it.

He went back to the topic he’d been discussing with He Gu earlier: selling the Power Armor.

The set of Power Armor he had on hand was temporarily useless, and with Yan Xiong still able to keep producing Spiritual Metal, he planned to sell this set first and make a new one later if he needed it.

So, after steering the conversation back, Chen Ming continued pitching, ”If you want, I can directly dismantle that set of Power Armor and rework it into whatever form you need. My Spiritual Energy effect can fully restore it, guaranteed no impact at all. It’ll be just like a lump of Spiritual Metal that’s just come out of the smelting furnace.”

He Gu was clearly very interested in this stuff. Since Chen Ming said he could help process the material, he didn’t bother putting on airs and directly said, ”That’s the best. In that case... what do you want?”

Chen Ming straightforwardly gave his demand: ”Enlightenment Nerves.”

”You’re interested in that thing? For your own use? I heard you’ve already absorbed several strands. Try to be careful. A lot of cases show that recklessly absorbing Enlightenment Nerves is very likely to cause problems with your Spiritual Power.”

”I know. That’s exactly why I need it.”

He Gu had already heard from others about the rumors of Chen Ming gnawing on Enlightenment Nerves raw, so he didn’t say more. ”If you’re confident, then it’s fine. How many strands do you need?”

”That depends on how many strands this set of Power Armor can be exchanged for.”

”Alright.”

He Gu replied, glanced at the message from the director on his terminal, then said to Chen Ming, ”We can give you two strands of Enlightenment Nerves.”

Chen Ming haggled, ”Two strands... feels a bit low.”

”Then we can also throw in some extra items under 5,000 Contribution Points. Think about what else you need.”

With an extra 5,000 Contribution Points thrown in, that was almost at the bottom line in Chen Ming’s mind. He decided not to push his luck and, recalling what he’d seen on the website earlier, said, ”I saw you had some device that can test a Psychic’s Spiritual Energy properties, right? That thing didn’t look cheap.”

”Only the disposable detectors we sell externally are expensive. If you come to the institute and let us do a full checkup for you, it’s free.”

”I’ll pass on the checkup.”

Chen Ming tactfully refused the idea of a physical examination. If they ran tests and found out that the brain inside his fake body didn’t have any Enlightenment Nerves, that would be a real circus.

”Just give me that disposable device and the remaining three thousand Contribution Points, that’s enough.”

”Deal.”

He Gu didn’t waste words and agreed on the spot: ”I’ll personally bring the Enlightenment Nerves and the device to the branch to find you later.”

With the end of the call.

Two more days passed in a flash.

Chen Ming once again arrived at the next planned resupply point.

Even though his supplies weren’t used up yet, resupplying was never something you waited to do until the very last moment.

Besides, doing it this way could also, to some extent, disrupt any pursuers trying to deduce his route based on the amount of supplies he bought.

This time, the place Chen Ming arrived at was also a comprehensive colonial settlement.

But it was a bit smaller in scale than the last one, and it didn’t have that garden-planet kind of uniqueness.

It was just an ordinary colony in the Prosperous Star Realm.

This time, after arriving at the port, Chen Ming did the same as last time and had the Maintenance yard service his ship, while also replenishing supplies.

After paying the deposit and walking out of the port.

Chen Ming suddenly noticed from a roadside billboard that this colony did have a bit of its own特色 after all.

In this Planet’s ocean, there lived a kind of extremely delicious, large, starfish-shaped creature with multiple irregular tentacles.

Because the flesh of this starfish was extremely prone to spoilage and difficult to preserve, what got sold externally was usually starfish in cans; only the locals could enjoy the freshest starfish.

Chen Ming had seen it in some ads before, and now that he happened to see it again, he simply went to a local restaurant, booked a private room, and ordered the food.

He scrolled through his terminal like an ordinary person, waiting for the dishes to be served.

However, in the middle of waiting.

Chen Ming suddenly stood up, swung his fist, and the wind pressure it generated was strong enough to slice skin as it blasted toward his back.

But that punch only dispersed some of the Black Mist.

From the Black Mist drifting beside him, a voice very familiar to Chen Ming suddenly sounded, ”You really want to fight in a place like this?”

”Outside is a busy downtown area, you know.”
