Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”I understand.”

After thanking him, Chen Ming didn’t hang up the phone but instead asked about another matter: ”Boss, have you had any news about Hu Yi recently? There hasn’t been any movement since he acted last time.”

The boss glanced at Hu Yi beside him and said, ”Not at the moment. I’ll let you know if there is any.”

”Alright.”

The communication ended.

Chen Ming started browsing through the contacts on his terminal.

He found He Gu, whom he had talked to before.

As a member of the Spiritual Ability Research Institute, He Gu had been working with the Spiritual Ability Association recently to deal with dimension infection and Zuo Jing issues.

Although the president and He Gu were already in contact, there was still some information that needed to be communicated to Chen Ming to avoid wasting each other’s time, so He Gu would directly notify Chen Ming of any updates.

Therefore, after the matters from the colony ended, Chen Ming would occasionally chat with He Gu; asking such questions wouldn’t bother him.

Chen Ming chose not to call He Gu directly, opting to send a string of inquiries instead.

He Gu responded quickly, first confirming with Chen Ming that it was okay to share information, and after assuring it was fine, he let Chen Ming ask freely.

Chen Ming asked a simple question, in just one sentence.

”What’s the use of the items dropped when a Mind Breaking Entity is killed?”

Instead of getting a reply, Chen Ming received a call from He Gu: ”Did you encounter a Mind Breaking Entity?”

After receiving Chen Ming’s affirmative reply.

He Gu was silent for a while, then said, ”Indeed, after a Mind Breaking Entity is killed, it leaves behind a substance embodying the Mind Breaking Entity.”

”This substance is also a source of chaos and is very dangerous for Psychics.”

”As Psychics, we should avoid having too many different Spiritual Energy properties on us. Carrying this is no different from holding a bomb.”

”In general, it’s directly disposed of. So, if you can, get rid of it and definitely don’t keep it on you.”

”However, if you can preserve the residue with Silent Alloy, I can arrange to purchase it from you, as we still have a research lab for Mind Breaking Entities here.”

”Of course, the most important thing is to ensure your safety. If this thing is triggered, it won’t care what kind of Psychic you are.”

”Got it.”

After sincerely expressing his gratitude, Chen Ming asked about a question the boss hadn’t fully explained earlier: ”Are there any means to restrain the Mind Breaking Entity?”

”The best way to deal with it is to raise awareness and prevent Psychics from casually handling Spiritual Materials of different natures.”

”But if it has already happened and an early-stage Mind Breaking Entity is created, the best way to deal with it is overwhelming force.”

He Gu gave the same answer as the boss; it seems using large-scale weapons bombardment is indeed the best method.

However, Chen Ming also noticed a key term in He Gu’s words: ”Early-stage?”

He Gu explained: ”An early-stage Mind Breaking Entity has at least three distinct Spiritual Energy Fluctuations.”

”But, if the Mind Breaking Entity is given time, these distinct Spiritual Energy Fluctuations will fully intertwine and enter the mid-stage.”

”A mid-stage Mind Breaking Entity can use just one Spiritual Energy Fluctuation to manage different Spiritual Energy effects, though other Spiritual Energy Fluctuations still exist.”

”In the late stage, these Spiritual Energy Fluctuations will totally merge, no longer expressing their original Spiritual Energy effects, but generating some Spiritual Energy Fluctuations incomprehensible to humans.”

”Incomprehensible to humans?”

He Gu immediately thought of a fitting analogy and said, ”For instance, like infrared and ultraviolet light in the spectrum, and infrasound and ultrasound in sound waves, there are areas humans cannot directly observe.”

”The effects produced by such chaotic Spiritual Energy Fluctuations are akin to these unobservable existences, but more terrifying.”

”Chaotic Spiritual Energy Fluctuations are composed of randomly overlapping various Spiritual Energy Fluctuations, and no one can predict what effects might be produced when different Spiritual Energy Fluctuations fully overlap.”

”Incomprehensible means no means to counteract; at that point, you might not even know how you died.”
