Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”Your convenient experiment is probably the dimensional infection leak experiment.”

Chen Ming remarked, casually saving an additional copy of the transformation document.

Originally, he was puzzled by the apparent lack of safety measures at the experiment center; now it was clear—there were none, just Zuo Jing acting on its own.

Someone within Zuo Jing wanted the people here dead, death by dimensional infection.

However, Chen Ming believed that these researchers must be smart enough to study spiritual energy technology; they surely weren’t fools intellectually.

Even if they weren’t psychics, they could definitely see the consequences of removing safety measures.

Maybe doing this could truly increase work efficiency, but it also completely stripped them of safety assurance.

Not every person would have faith in Zuo Jing; privately, there would surely be voices of protest.

Without life, the benefits from research and the inherent value of research itself become meaningless to them.

It’s unlikely they would actually cooperate with Zuo Jing to complete the remaining research tasks.

Thus, Chen Ming boldly speculated that it was due to this situation that Zuo Jing arranged for Ye Lirong to come over.

Chen Ming had previously looked at the timeline of these events.

Zuo Jing’s higher-ups ordered the dismantling of the experiment center’s safety facilities just one day before he managed all Zuo Jing matters related to the colony.

And Ye Lirong came over on the second day of the colony-related incidents.

Although it might be said Ye Lirong came because of the connection between the colony and the Space Station, such a guess doesn’t entirely rule out another possibility.

That possibility being Zuo Jing sent such a Star Zone-level government official here to personally verify the safety several times to reassure those Zuo Jing researchers, due to the removal of safety measures.

Or rather, to accompany them to the grave.

On reflection, Ye Lirong is indeed just a local Star Zone-level Minister of Culture and Tourism.

This position is awkward—profitable, but absolutely incapable of interfering with main government policies and directions.

Zuo Jing apparently doesn’t lack money, because someone is definitely funding them; there’s nothing to discuss.

At the level of government decision-making, significant information isn’t something a Minister of Culture and Tourism would know.

Moreover, there might be individuals within the government with connections to Zuo Jing, not necessarily only Ye Lirong.

All these factors combined make the impact of Ye Lirong dying alongside those researchers seem not too significant.

Undertaking one big experiment in the end doesn’t seem like a loss... does it?

Chen Ming couldn’t say for sure.

In his view, the knowledge in these researchers’ brains was extremely valuable; knowledge has no right or wrong, only value.

If Chen Ming were a Zuo Jing executive, he definitely wouldn’t use these people as pawns for any experiment.

Unless there were other reasons.

For instance, this Space Station could involve other Zuo Jing elsewhere.

If the Zuo Jing higher-ups believed that although nothing had happened yet at this Space Station, given Chen Ming’s colony-associated Zuo Jing members had already had issues, then this Space Station, even if it could escape temporarily, would definitely not escape permanently.

The two colonies were previously also considered sources for those at the Space Station, who were captured for experimentation, and couldn’t be completely disentangled.

Might as well kill all those related to the issue to prevent implicating more of Zuo Jing.

Simply killing them would be a bit of a loss, better contribute more by conducting an experiment in the end.

While Chen Ming’s ideas were purely speculative, at least they followed a logical thread.

Moreover, he also noticed there were indeed communication devices inside and outside the Space Station’s isolation layer.

Based on the records he just found in the communication database, there was a requirement for regular hourly contact between the inside and outside of the Space Station’s isolation layer.

But clearly, the individual responsible for maintaining internal and external contact encountered issues.

It wasn’t that this worker didn’t contact, but the communication lines between inside and outside were cut off, yet there was no external reaction.

Chen Ming specifically double-checked at this moment.

He cut only the external communication of the Space Station, and disguised it as a common communication system failure.

To prevent the planet’s underground laboratory from discovering issues with the Space Station.

The communication between inside and outside the isolation layer was not his doing; it was Zuo Jing’s own doing.

Being able to neatly cut off communication amidst a dimensional infection outbreak virtually confirmed Chen Ming’s speculation: Zuo Jing wants to conduct a Space Station-level dimensional infection experiment.

A Space Station silently meeting its demise, as long as they handle follow-up tasks well, there wouldn’t be concerns about information leakage.

Chen Ming sensed that Zuo Jing’s last dimensional infection was probably orchestrated similarly.

Of course, all this is entirely Chen Ming’s speculation, but the truth of the situation shouldn’t stray too far from it.

Along with this speculation, Chen Ming analyzed out a piece of information that’s both good and bad.

That is, Zuo Jing definitely doesn’t know the relationships between survivors of dimensional infection.

After all, the president previously didn’t know this either and actively proposed to meet him.

Only when he actually intended to do it did spiritual energy sense danger, completing the concept with the president that survivors of dimensional infection are essentially coordinates from another dimension.
