Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

So, these undocumented dimension infections largely occurred during the period from the first dimension infection to the ban on cloning technology,

after the initial dimension infection incident.

Cloning experiments in various laboratories continued.

According to records, almost all subsequent clones showed signs of mutation,

but these mutations in clones were mostly simply influenced by another dimension, similar to congenital deformities in newborns, rather than a genuine dimension infection.

Only a very small portion of clones showed precursors of actual dimension infection.

Then, of course, there were fatalities.

Even with the precedent of the first dimension infection, all laboratories prepared follow-up treatment measures before continuing experiments.

However, not many of these measures proved effective.

In the early stages, the most effective method to curb the initial spread of dimension infection was incredulously to position battlecruisers at the laboratory gates, aim large or even main weapons at the lab, and bombard directly if problems arose.

So, even for early dimension infections, the mortality rate among all personnel directly involved was one hundred percent.

After numerous experiments, laboratories that communicated with each other did indeed acquire valuable data from dimension infections, and naturally, safety measures were implemented.

These measures were similar to the Silent Alloy isolation layer currently being arranged by Zuo Jing.

They were indeed effective, capable of blocking the expansion of dimension infection.

Moreover, these Silent Alloy isolation layers could hinder the further spread of existing dimension infection, though they could not prevent dimension infection occurring in clones.

They had targeted capabilities to seal the outbreak source of dimension infection into the necessary containment equipment.

Many cloning laboratories within the Empire discovered seemingly perfect and effective methods to handle dimension infections, intensifying experiments on clones.

At first glance, this seemed to be a good thing.

Isolating clones could still trigger the desired dimension infection, sending individuals directly into isolation rooms saved much trouble.

However, no experiment could guarantee to be entirely problem-free forever.

The very progression of scientific development thrives on learning through failures.

With dimension infection-related experiments, failure could potentially lead to dimension infection leakage.

The mortality rate from dimension infection leakage remained sky-high; to be precise, failure equaled a one hundred percent mortality rate, even for psychics.

No psychic has survived dimension infection leakage, not even in its initial stages.

To date, aside from the company president and Chen Ming, who personally experienced dimension infection, there were no survivors within the Empire.

Additionally, no matter how comprehensive the protective measures, vulnerabilities were inevitable; over time, dimension infection, though continuously contained, was capable of leakage.

Should dimension infection leak, it would result in massive casualties once more.

Later, the wave of deformed infants began to receive attention, and the president gradually discovered the link between deformities and dimension infection.

The advent of these aftereffects caused a high deformity rate of up to 90% in newborns within the Empire for at least the next twenty years.

Even though the Empire had cryogenic sleep technology that could indirectly extend human life,

the absence of newborns for these twenty years indeed dealt a substantial blow to the Empire.

While not to the point of immediate collapse, extended time at this rate would be truly dire.

After six months of testing and validation, and the deaths of numerous top scientific personnel,

the Empire finally decided to completely ban the technology, sealing related data, accessible only to the company president and select government officials.

However, now, as Zuo Jing has supposedly researched dimension infection, producing survivors from dimension infection,

combined with the recent dimension infection experienced by Chen Ming, two potential aftereffects seemed poised to explosively overlap.

To thoroughly resolve the trouble of Zuo Jing and dimension infection, and carry out targeted prevention,

a part of the dimension infection-related information has been declassified within certain tiers.

Chen Ming was uncertain whether Zuo Jing learned of the method to interrupt dimension infection from the declassified information or developed it independently.

Regardless, they were definitely akin to the Empire’s cloning laboratories that, post the initial dimension infection incident, continued research discovering new phenomena.

Believing that isolation methods were perfectly safe, they indiscriminately poured resources, both in manpower and funds, into the effort.

Expanding research into dimension infection.

These historical records stand as evidence, not mere conjectures by Chen Ming.

Thus, now, he stood at the opened hatch of the spaceship outside the atmosphere.

He considered the worst-case scenario as the most likely outcome, surmising that Zuo Jing conducted dimension infection experiments in the underground laboratory.

Even if Zuo Jing did not actually proceed with such actions, he wouldn’t face significant losses.

Chen Ming heightened his vigilance, then directed the metallic liquid he had left in the underground laboratory towards the most northernmost, core, sealed gate.

Earlier, fearing exposure of his spiritual energy, he did not dare to breach the door directly.
