Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Just before he charged out, his sense of danger reached its peak.

If he really went through, he would surely die.

Getting into a melee with this Totem Pole would definitely lead to trouble, he absolutely couldn’t get close.

Chen Ming casually tore off a large piece of metal from the wall beside him, twisted it into the shape of a javelin, secreted a bit of keratin at the tip of the metal javelin, and threw it towards the creature.

The javelin easily pierced through the Totem Pole creature’s body, directly embedding the entire javelin into the wall behind it, and shattered under the immense force.

However, Chen Ming’s face turned even worse.

Because when the javelin penetrated the creature, it didn’t pierce it, but instead passed right through it without hitting it at all.

It seemed to be an entity without a physical form.

Chen Ming threw several more weapons towards the Totem Pole, but like the first one, none of the weapons could realistically hit this thing.

It seems as if there’s no means to stop it.

Even after Chen Ming repeatedly failed to hit it with the javelins, the Totem Pole creature seemed to be angered, moving towards him on a mass of dismembered limbs forming its lower body.

Although the speed indeed wasn’t fast, the increasingly dangerous feeling creeping closer was very real.

Chen Ming almost couldn’t help but raise his hand, plasma ready to be released at any moment.

But he suddenly stopped his hand, changed direction, and turned his head to run towards the perimeter of the lab.

In a situation where he’s uncertain what capabilities the enemy has, it’s best not to use his trump cards directly.

Fortunately, outside there are those resting Zuo Jing members; they can help test what kind of ability this Totem Pole creature has.

Through surveillance, Chen Ming found that at this moment near the door connecting the lab’s depths to the outside world, the Psychic was not present, seemingly out to fetch something.

Because the conditions in the lab were too primitive, he wasn’t prepared, and it seems it would take a while for him to come back.

That’s just perfect.

Chen Ming continued sprinting inside the lab.

In just a few seconds, he rushed from the deepest part of the lab straight to the door leading to the lab’s perimeter, slamming into the door and directly shattering it.

Broken metal and a large amount of blood and flesh tissues not yet fully dispersed scattered towards the lab perimeter with Chen Ming’s charge.

Instantly killing a large number of Zuo Jing, and pulling out the spirit beast’s flesh and blood that Zuo Jing had painstakingly blocked back.

And behind Chen Ming, the Totem Pole which initially wasn’t fast oddly maintained a very high speed, trailing not far behind.

About to step out from the innermost area of the lab.

Chen Ming noticed that these flesh and blood of the spirit beast seemed unrelated to the Totem Pole creature, simply stepping on it without interference.

Clearly he could sense a psychic nature similar to obsession on the Totem Pole, but didn’t know the specifics.

Chen Ming didn’t dwell on this matter, winning would earn him the right to worry about it.

He ignored all the Zuo Jing members and continued running towards the outside of the lab, appearing unconcerned with anything.

Some Zuo Jing tried to stop him, but Chen Ming’s strength is more than they can withstand.

Even a slight brush past them would make Chen Ming feel like a train directly killing them.

Moreover, the lure of more Zuo Jing members had already been attracted by the presence inside the lab.

They were confused by the spirit beast’s flesh and blood, each rushing towards the freshly fed flesh.

Yet as these people approached the deepest part of the lab.

Their arms suddenly inexplicably broke off.

The severed ends looked like they were violently torn by something.

Chen Ming observed the location of the wounds on these people, noted the features and direction of force where the arms were torn off, reaching a horrifying conclusion.

It was their own arms exerting force that tore themselves off.

The dropped arms of the Zuo Jing crawled towards the Totem Pole moving towards the door, continuing to build up the limb-like body.

And the consciousness of these Zuo Jing members suddenly became clear.

They were no longer enchanted by the spirit beast’s flesh and blood, regaining awareness.

But upon waking up, they saw off in the distance the massive Totem Pole, and just ahead of them, their crawling hands.

This scene became even more terrifying for them.

Even preferring to die in obsession rather than this.

At this moment, Zuo Jing members simultaneously felt dual terror: biological instinct and spiritual fear.

No amount of brainwashing worked at this moment, those awakened Zuo Jing desperately tried to flee, but suddenly their remaining bodily tissues also gained consciousness.

In the abrupt screams of Zuo Jing, their bodies split, rotted, and crawled again towards the Totem Pole, absorbed into its body.

The Psychic of Zuo Jing finally hurriedly arrived.

Upon seeing the two faces atop the Totem Pole, he halted with a look of panic.

”Faceless...”

Chen Ming heard his self-talk.

This facelessness presumably doesn’t mean he couldn’t see the face of the Totem Pole.
