Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Shortly after Chen Ming left the Star System,

in a section of cosmic space some distance away from the Space Station.

A spacecraft that had been docked here with its engines off and hidden for quite some time finally started its engines.

Inside the captain’s room of this spacecraft.

The captain and a person dressed ordinarily were nervously staring in the direction of Chen Ming’s spacecraft as it left the Star System.

His hand was still trembling slightly even now, and the Black Mist Bead he grasped could not calm him.

He was another Psychic tasked by Zuo Jing’s higher-ups to handle the aftermath of the Space Station and the underground laboratory.

However, his teammate was one step ahead, and had already crushed the Black Mist Glass Bead and entered the Space Station.

Then, he saw from the spacecraft his teammate being pinched unconscious by Chen Ming as if squeezing a chick, and briefly witnessed most of the events on the Space Station.

From Chen Ming’s instantaneous elimination of the teammate, the Zuo Jing Psychic could tell he was absolutely no match for this three-meter-tall pitch-black entity.

Therefore, he didn’t go to help his teammate, didn’t expose himself in any way, and even immediately instructed the captain to shut down the spacecraft’s engines and most equipment that might reveal the spacecraft’s location.

This allowed him to see only parts of Chen Ming’s actions on the Space Station from the spacecraft.

But from the nearly hour-long chaos on the Space Station, and the visible terrifying signs erupting on the planet’s surface, he no longer dared to ponder what had happened.

So he squatted here silently, praying that Chen Ming hadn’t found him.

Chen Ming indeed didn’t notice, since he currently lacked Supreme Point’s detection equipment.

Moreover, the Space Station’s equipment wouldn’t easily detect the completely powered-down Zuo Jing spacecraft.

Thus, this Star System had this sole fish that slipped through the net.

Nevertheless, even after the Zuo Jing Psychic confirmed that Chen Ming had really advanced to the edge of the Star System and hadn’t discovered him, he was still panicked inside.

He didn’t dare verify if there were any survivors; he could only wait until Chen Ming finally entered the Superspace Station to leave before he finally gathered the courage for the captain to start the ship, urging the captain to prepare to leave quickly.

After all, he was a Psychic, even a weak Psychic is still a Psychic—he wouldn’t be directly discarded by the higher-ups just because he did nothing and watched his teammate get caught.

As long as he truthfully reported the events, he would be alright.

”Move quickly.”

The Zuo Jing Psychic urged the captain again, his heart still racing nearly uncontrollably.

A scene from a few days ago suddenly flashed through his mind.

In fact, originally, they were indeed here to handle the issue of dimensional infection, under the guise of verifying the experimental results on the Space Station.

Before they arrived at the Space Station and actually began dealing with the dimensional infection, they planned to intentionally trigger the dimensional infection leak, allowing the entire Space Station to fall so they could officially begin tackling the dimensional infection.

The Zuo Jing operatives on this Space Station were unaware of this.

Except for the three Psychics.

But even those three only knew about such an event occurring, not the exact timing.

Because the spacecraft took time to arrive, and the journey through Superspace wasn’t always smooth; any incident along the way could cause timing discrepancies, resulting in unnecessary losses.

So generally, they would conduct an exchange some time before officially executing the plan to prevent unexpected situations,

as stressed by the Zuo Jing higher-ups who orchestrated this plan.

They were instructed to contact the Space Station’s Psychics beforehand, so someone could leave on the spacecraft in advance.

They would return once the dimensional infection leak was substantial enough to cooperate in clearing the infection.

However, just two days ago, as he planned to contact ahead, the Psychic with him stopped him.

At the time, he didn’t react and foolishly asked, ”What’s up?”

The Psychic replied with just one sentence; he had a conflict with the Psychic on the Space Station previously, and wanted him dead.

The Zuo Jing Psychic’s first reaction was naturally to refuse.

But the Psychic then produced a set of Spiritual Materials he desperately needed, clearly having investigated him ahead of time, and knew what he wanted.

This material was just perfect to fill the gap of the Spiritual Weapon he had yet to find a suitable one for.

The Psychic also said at the time, ”It’s just sending a message, anyone can do it; I’ll be responsible for sending the message and you’ll be told it’s already sent, you won’t have any liability, understand?”

”I’ll take full responsibility for this, you only need to act as if you saw nothing.”

Initially, the Zuo Jing Psychic was still thinking of rejecting, but the Psychic’s last sentence completely swayed him.

”Having fewer competitors isn’t beneficial for you?”

Indeed, compared to the Empire, the quantity of Zuo Jing Psychics wasn’t particularly large, but not small either.

At least enough to support the number of Psychics needed for a cult force throughout the Empire.

Thus, each Star Realm’s Zuo Jing base had more than one Psychic; disputes over limited resources leading to arguments were truly commonplace.

So it was no surprise that the Psychic had conflicts with the Space Station’s Psychic.

Thus, he tacitly consented to the Psychic’s methods and refrained from contacting the Space Station’s Psychics in advance.
