**

The three of them walked along the road, chatting casually.

Before long, they arrived at their destination—the auction house.

Their steps instinctively slowed as they lifted their heads to gaze at the massive structure looming at the end of the street, and the dazzling emblem that marked its identity.

A look of awe naturally surfaced on each of their faces.

Qing Lin gasped in a small voice, ”Wow, as expected of the headquarters of the Mittel Auction House. This scale is way beyond any of the branch locations we’ve seen before!”

”The Mittel Clan is, after all, one of the three great clans of the Empire, with a long history and deep foundations. Their headquarters naturally wouldn’t be ordinary,” Wei Yang commented.

Xian’er also smiled and nodded in agreement.

They stared at the colossal building that seemed like a bottomless pit, endlessly swallowing the continuous stream of people entering it.

”Let’s go. Let’s see what the so-called number one auction house in the empire has to offer. Hopefully, we can find some of the herbs we need.”

With that, Wei Yang took the lead, walking slowly toward the end of the broad, stone-paved avenue.

The two girls followed closely behind.

As they approached the massive Mittel Auction House, Wei Yang walked with his hands behind his back, leading the two girls straight toward a side VIP passage under the surprised or envious gazes of those nearby.

He walked expressionlessly, as if an invisible force surrounded him. The crowd in front of them parted automatically, as if moved aside by a pair of unseen hands, revealing a clear path forward.

Strangely, the people who were moved aside didn’t seem to notice what was happening. It was as if they instinctively stepped aside without realizing it.

Occasionally, some hidden figures in the crowd would try to reach out sneakily—whether toward Wei Yang, Xian’er, or Qing Lin—but the moment their hands extended, they instantly retracted as if shocked.

Those retracted hands were all burned by an invisible scorching heat. Red and swollen, some even had blisters forming.

Wei Yang coldly glanced at those clutching their hands, wincing in pain yet too afraid to meet his eyes.

If he hadn’t wanted to avoid causing a scene, those people would already be nothing but charred corpses.

Without wasting time on these pests, Wei Yang arrived at the entrance to the VIP passage. With a flip of his hand, he took out a special token.

The guards standing at the passage—each with eyes sharp as eagles—immediately showed respectful expressions upon seeing the token and stepped aside.

Wei Yang put away the token and led the two girls inside calmly.

As they passed through the doorway, soft light bathed them, and the noise from outside was instantly silenced. In just a few steps, separated by a single door, it felt like they had entered a completely different world.

Wei Yang stopped slowly, sweeping his gaze across the enormous hall that resembled a massive crystal city, raising his eyebrows in slight surprise.

Xian’er and Qing Lin also stood with their mouths slightly open, stunned by the opulence and grandeur of the trading hall.

”It’s huge!” Qing Lin exclaimed.

Inside the hall, expressionless and fully armed guards stood everywhere. Each one wore the emblem of the Mittel Clan on their chest, clearly indicating they were elite private guards.

As soon as the trio entered the hall, they felt more than twenty sharp gazes sweep over them before slowly retracting.

Even though they came through the VIP passage, they still couldn’t avoid the vigilant scrutiny of these guards.

”No wonder they’re one of the three great clans of the Jia Ma Empire. Their setup is indeed impressive,” Wei Yang said with a light laugh.

Looking around, the hall was filled with countless crystal display cases, surrounded by a bustling crowd.

Within the cases were innumerable rare and peculiar items, each marked with a price tag beneath it.

Every item was priced at a minimum of 30,000 gold coins. Such steep prices, even in the imperial capital, were enough to deter most people.

Just then, a neatly dressed, beautiful maid approached them with measured steps.

She bowed slightly, a professional smile on her face. Her tone was respectful, yet carried a sense of composed elegance as she softly asked, ”Honored guests, may I assist you in any way?”

Wei Yang flipped his hand and handed over the token, saying directly, ”Take me to your VIP room.”

The maid glanced at the token, and her eyes immediately sharpened.

A flash of surprise crossed her face—it was a high-level token issued only to those of top importance within the Mittel Clan.

These tokens were rare, and each one represented the highest level of regard from the family. Holders of such tokens were the most esteemed guests of the auction house.

Behind every such token was at least someone of Dou Wang level, or even stronger.

Realizing this, the maid respectfully returned the token with both hands. Her standard smile transformed into a more genuine and enthusiastic one as she softly said, ”This way, please.”

With that, she respectfully led the way.

Wei Yang nodded and stepped forward to follow.

Under the envious and awed gazes of the crowd, he walked toward the exclusive VIP passageway.

...

Rustle~

They hadn’t walked far when a commotion suddenly erupted up ahead.

Wei Yang looked up.

Ahead was an area within the Mittel Auction House reserved for high-level staff. It had been peaceful before, but now a sudden stir had broken out—it seemed some important figure had just emerged from there.

Many men in the surrounding crowd suddenly grew as excited as wolves in heat.

Through the crowd, Wei Yang could faintly see a flash of vivid red and a curvaceous, graceful figure that felt somewhat familiar.

Click! Click! Click!

A series of crisp, rhythmic footsteps rang out.

Looking down, there was a pair of red high-heeled boots. The heels were slightly pointed, and each step on the smooth bluestone floor echoed a crisp and pleasant sound, like a string of beautiful musical notes.

His gaze moved up slightly. A pair of long, fair, and slender legs entered his view—quite an eye-catching sight.

”Nice legs, definitely worth a score over ninety,” Wei Yang mused inwardly.

But almost immediately, he keenly sensed Xian’er’s gaze beside him growing noticeably unfriendly.

Wei Yang calmly withdrew his gaze.

Hmph. A soft snort, more teasing than angry, sounded gently in his ear.

Wei Yang rubbed his nose.

Ahem, he had just been purely appreciating the view.

...

In the crowd, as the crisp footsteps drew closer, a charming and stunningly beautiful face finally came into view.

The woman wore a bright red, tight-fitting silk robe, exquisitely tailored to highlight every exquisite curve of her figure.

From beneath the robe, a stretch of snowy-white, dazzlingly smooth leg peeked out, stirring a primal heat in the hearts of many. It made one feel an urge to reach out and touch.

Her slim waist, encircled by a silver belt, was accentuated perfectly, highlighting her graceful form to the fullest.

This woman exuded maturity and seductive charm from head to toe—like a fully ripened peach, seeming to promise a burst of sweetness with the lightest squeeze.

Her long, narrow, peach blossom eyes sparkled with life.

Without a doubt, for many of the men present, she was a peerless temptress, her entire being radiating allure and stirring untold hearts.

She walked gracefully forward, her lovely face bearing a polite yet not overly distant smile.

This enchantress seemed to have quite the social presence, as people continuously greeted her with warm smiles and attentiveness.

Her voluptuous, mature figure made some people’s lower bodies show subtle signs of reaction, their throats involuntarily gulping as a burning flame rose in the depths of their eyes.

Yet she responded to all these advances with elegance and composure, her measured smile cutting off any further attempts at small talk.

Her pair of peach blossom eyes swept the surroundings, scanning the crowd quickly.

Finally, when her gaze landed on a handsome young man dressed in a black robe embroidered with gold patterns, her eyes abruptly froze. Her elegant steps also faltered for a moment.

But soon, the smile on her face blossomed further, now laced with surprise, and her pace quickened noticeably.

She stared directly at the young man, her beautiful eyes filled with delight and a hint of disbelief.

Quickly making her way to him, she bent slightly at the waist, a ripple of fullness rising at her chest. With a smile both gentle and respectfully warm, she spoke:

”Mr. Wei, it has been a long time. I never imagined I’d run into you again here in the imperial capital—it’s truly Ya Fei’s honor.”
