Encountering a comrade in a foreign world—what a fortunate event.

Cheers to that!

They pulled out some wine and poured it. As their cups clinked together, they each downed it in one go.

”Haha~ Refreshing!”

With the wine going down, the bond between the two deepened without them even realizing it.

There was an unexpected sense of camaraderie.

It was the kind of connection that felt naturally close.

As long as it wasn’t something like blocking each other’s path to advancement, or deep-seated grudges like killing kin or stealing a wife, the two would basically never turn against each other.

The two soaked lazily in the bath, sipping wine and casually chatting now and then.

Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was already evening.

”That’s about enough. Let’s get up, eat something, and head out,” Wei Yang sat up, yawning and stretching lazily as he waved a hand. ”Turn around, I’m getting dressed.”

”Pfft, like I’d want to look. Don’t pollute my eyes,” Xiao Yan sneered, turning around disdainfully and standing up as well.

Splash—

The sound of water echoed.

The two of them climbed out of the water with their backs to each other, pulling clean clothes from their storage rings and getting dressed.

At the same time, both of their gazes accidentally drifted toward the other’s body in the corner of their vision, only to immediately act like nothing happened and retract their gazes.

Inwardly, they both felt a bit satisfied: Phew, at least I’m not smaller than him.

Wei Yang picked up the dirty clothes he’d changed out of earlier and tossed them into the pool, crouching down to wash them.

Xiao Yan walked over in surprise. ”You’re actually washing your clothes?”

”What else would I do?” Wei Yang looked up at him. ”Since I’ve taken them off, might as well wash them now.”

As he spoke, his gaze shifted with some distaste toward Xiao Yan’s previously discarded clothes, which were full of sweat and stank badly.

”Wait a sec, don’t tell me... you were planning to just stuff those into your storage ring?” Wei Yang asked.

”Uh, I was planning to save up a few sets and wash them all at once,” Xiao Yan defended himself. ”We’re out here, who cares about being fancy?”

”Eww~ You slob. Stay away from me!” Wei Yang scooted away with a grimace. ”Your storage ring isn’t that big, right? You’ve still got food and water in there, and now you’re mixing in dirty clothes? That smell... tsk tsk. I’m honestly impressed. Good thing I didn’t eat any of the food you gave me.”

”You’re so picky,” Xiao Yan muttered, rolling his eyes.

Still, he tossed the dirty clothes he’d been about to store into the water and squatted down to wash them as well.

...

After washing the clothes clean, they used Dou Qi to dry them out and folded them neatly before storing them back into their rings.

After a simple meal, the sky had darkened considerably.

Just as Xiao Yan was about to ask when they were leaving, Wei Yang suddenly gestured for him to be quiet.

”What is it?” Xiao Yan asked with his eyes.

”Someone’s coming,” Wei Yang whispered, only after setting up a soul barrier that enveloped them both.

”Snake-People?” Xiao Yan tensed slightly.

”Yeah. And it’s a Dou Wang. A female Dou Wang,” Wei Yang nodded.

”Must be one of the eight commanding officers. What’s she doing here? Let’s wait a bit. Once she’s gone, we move. We’ve got more important things to do,” Xiao Yan whispered urgently.

”She’s here to... uh, take a bath...” Wei Yang’s eyebrows raised.

”That’s none of our—wait, what?! ...Take a bath?!” Xiao Yan’s eyes bulged.

Wei Yang nodded, eyes half-closed as he sat down calmly. ”Alright, we’ll do as you said. Wait it out.”

”Ahem, so, uh... this female Dou Wang... got a nice figure?” Xiao Yan crouched down, whispering.

”Mhm, very nice. Curvy in all the right places—voluptuous and fiery hot. Mm... she’s starting to take her clothes off. Don’t bother me, go sit somewhere else.” Wei Yang licked his lips, a faint gleam flashing through his half-lowered eyes.

Xiao Yan’s eyes also started to glow faintly, his breathing slightly rapid. He was clearly growing anxious, squirming restlessly as his face flushed red. He stammered, ”Hey... uh... don’t hog it all for yourself...”

”What, you want me to do a live broadcast for you? I’m not that kind of person. And I’m not even looking—I’m just observing the surrounding situation. Don’t annoy me,” Wei Yang said, sounding a little impatient.

”Bullshit! ’Observing the situation’ my ass—I’d believe you if I were dead!” Xiao Yan gritted his teeth, rubbing his temples in frustration.

They were both men—who didn’t know who?

Wei Yang saying he wasn’t watching? Xiao Yan wouldn’t believe that in a million years.

”Hey, you can’t do this. We came here together—how can you enjoy it by yourself?” Xiao Yan nudged Wei Yang, trying to coax him. ”Bro, I’ll call you ’bro’—how’s that? Just let me in on it too.”

”...This isn’t really appropriate, is it?” Wei Yang looked a bit hesitant. ”I ’accidentally’ seeing something is one thing, but dragging you in too? Isn’t that a bit shameless? And doing it so blatantly... cough, that’s a bit too much, no?”

”Bro, come on—we’re just doing research. Comparing the differences between Snake-People and humans,” Xiao Yan said earnestly. ”Aren’t we about to deal with Queen Medusa soon? We’ve got to know our enemy, right?”

”Hm.” Wei Yang paused in thought.

”This is purely academic. A scientific comparison of anatomical differences between Snake-People and humans!”

Xiao Yan urged, ”You’re just using soul perception—it’s like scanning with infrared. It’s not clear at all, like watching something all pixelated. We’ve gotta use our eyes to see... ahem, appreciate, analyze, so we can properly understand the differences in Snake-People!”

”...That actually makes some sense,” Wei Yang nodded slightly. ”Academic research?”

”Academic research!”

”So, we’re going?”

”Absolutely!” Xiao Yan nodded solemnly.

”Then let’s go. Stay close to me—don’t leave the range of my soul barrier. And be alert.”

Wei Yang reminded him, ”Also, what happens today stays between heaven, earth, you, and me. Not a word to anyone else! We’re men of the world—we’ve got reputations to protect, got it?”

”Yeah, yeah, no problem!” Xiao Yan nodded eagerly, practically about to swear an oath.

”Jie jie... Let’s go.” Wei Yang hunched down and led the way.

”Heh heh.” Behind him, Xiao Yan followed closely, eyes practically glowing.

Their figures gradually disappeared into the forest.

(And just like that, the future Supreme Ruler of the Great Thousand World and the Flame Emperor both gained their first blemish in life!)

Inside the storage ring.

”You two little punks! Outrageous!” Yao Lao’s beard puffed out in fury as he glared.

They actually dared to be so blatant right in front of him—unbelievable.

Yao Lao stroked his beard and muttered, ”Well, they’re still young after all. Full of youthful vigor—it’s only natural to make a few mistakes...”

”No. I need to keep an eye on them.”

”Yes, especially the two of them!”

Somewhere in a low thicket.

Two figures lay flat on the ground, sneaking glances ahead like a pair of guilty thieves.

They crawled along slowly, even holding their breaths to the lowest possible level. Their gazes, filled with guilty conscience, peeked through gaps in the foliage.

At the end of a small path outside the thicket, several slender, elegant Snake-People woman stood still, expressions cold and vigilant.

Their sharp gazes scanned the surrounding woods continuously, weapons gripped tightly in their hands, ready to strike down anyone who dared trespass.

These Snake-People woman, likely influenced by the desert environment, had slightly tanned skin—a healthy bronze glow.

Their attractive features, paired with their strange diamond-shaped pupils, exuded a unique, exotic allure.

The most captivating feature of Snake-People woman, however, was their sinuous, serpentine waists—soft and alluring.

In the human world, whenever Snake-People woman slaves performed their exotic dances, the largest crowd was always made up of men.

And for those whose self-control was weak... well, it wasn’t uncommon for them to rise to the occasion on the spot, bow awkwardly, cover their faces with their sleeves, and flee the scene in embarrassment.

There was a distinct contrast between male and female Snake-People.

Female Snake-People were typically beautiful and seductive.

Male Snake-People, on the other hand, tended to be fierce-looking... and frankly, rather ugly.

Of course, the two sneaky guys right now weren’t too interested in admiring the beauty of these particular Snake-People woman guards—not their alluring snake-like waists, anyway.

Their gazes only lingered momentarily before pulling back with no hesitation.

Among these guards, four were Da Dou Shi, while the rest were all Dou Shi.

Not a problem.

”Follow me,” Wei Yang whispered, pointing ahead.

Xiao Yan nodded.

Ahead, the sound of gently rushing water could be faintly heard.

The two of them moved carefully, crawling forward inch by inch.

Relying on Wei Yang’s soul barrier and the increasingly dim twilight, they successfully avoided the guards’ watchful eyes. Following the sound of water, they gradually approached their destination.

Wei Yang gestured toward a spot ahead, silently mouthing: We’re here.

Xiao Yan nodded with a serious face, like he was about to conduct some serious academic research.

Of course... that is, if you ignored their glowing eyes.

They slowly parted the leaves in front of them, revealing a small slit in the foliage. Their eyes peered through.

What appeared in their view was a crystal-clear lake.

The pristine lake water was like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding scenery.

Splash!

A light splash broke the stillness, sending ripples gently across the surface.

And in that moment, their eyes were immediately drawn toward it.

From the water, a full, curvaceous figure slowly emerged.

Her alluring and graceful silhouette was reflected clearly in their dark pupils.
