**

The silver moon hung high in the sky, casting a gentle glow across the desert and draping it in a soft silver veil.

In the desert, the moon always seemed a little larger than anywhere else.

Whoosh!

A sudden sound of wind being torn apart echoed across the quiet desert, growing closer with astonishing speed.

A dark figure shot through the night sky like a meteor streaking across the heavens, slicing through the air with ferocity.

The intense wind pressure generated by this incredible speed carved out a long trench across the sandy terrain below.

Flapping a pair of massive light-green energy wings, Yue Mei—dressed in black veils—soared through the sky. Her alluring yet coldly beautiful face was now filled with fury.

That damned human!

How dare he barge into the core of our Snake-People Clan territory?! Is the Jia Ma Empire preparing for war against us?!

Regardless of the reason, this intruder—possibly a Dou Huang-level human—must die!

A powerful show of force was necessary. Let the humans know that challenging the Snake-People Clan was a grave mistake.

On a sand dune—

Wei Yang sat cross-legged. Suddenly, his eyes opened, and he gazed toward the night sky ahead with a faint smile. ”She’s here.”

”Oh?” Beside him, Xiao Yan, who had been studying the Furious Lion Roar scroll with great interest, lifted his head and followed Wei Yang’s gaze.

Soon—

Whoosh~

The piercing sound of someone tearing through the air faintly echoed in the distance.

”She’s pretty bold,” Wei Yang chuckled. ”Even knowing this is the core of her Snake-People Clan territory, she’s still flying in openly.”

”Well, if it’s really her... maybe just, you know, go easy on her?” Xiao Yan said hesitantly.

”Oh? Feeling sorry for her already?” Wei Yang glanced at him teasingly.

”Ahem, no, not really. But we did come here to make a deal with Queen Medusa, so there’s no need to make a huge mess of things,” Xiao Yan explained.

Wei Yang nodded. ”Don’t worry. I’ll be careful.”

Xiao Yan nodded back, saying no more.

Soon, a figure appeared on the distant horizon, flying swiftly toward them.

Yue Mei, now spotting the two cloaked figures standing calmly on the hill, became visibly wary. Her speed slowed slightly as she approached.

As the distance closed further, she hesitated even more, her pace growing cautious.

Wei Yang stood there, not in a hurry, simply watching her approach.

At this point, Yue Mei clearly realized these two had been waiting for her all along.

She clenched her teeth and finally stopped mid-air about a hundred meters away.

The night breeze rustled, pressing her thin veil tightly against her figure, highlighting her captivating curves.

Her energy wings flapped gently, and a light-green snake tail swayed from beneath her dress, twitching in the air.

Yue Mei eyed the two black-robed intruders warily and asked coldly, ”You were waiting for me?”

”That’s right,” Wei Yang replied calmly from beneath his cloak.

”You’ve invaded the Snake-People Clan. What are you after? Is this a declaration of war?” Yue Mei snapped.

Her voice was filled with obvious hostility, laced with a chilling aura.

”War? No,” Wei Yang chuckled. ”I came to make a deal. So I’d appreciate it if you spoke a little more politely.”

”A deal?” Yue Mei frowned, then sneered. ”Ha, what a joke. Humans have always seen us Snake-People Clan as abominations. Why would you ever trade with us?”

”It doesn’t matter what others think. I’m here for a trade,” Wei Yang said flatly. ”The feud between humans and Snake-People Clan is none of my concern. I have no interest in your petty conflicts.”

”I’ve come to offer what you need in exchange for what I need. Nothing more.”

”...Oh?” Yue Mei blinked in surprise. Some of her tension eased. ”You’re not from the Jia Ma Empire?”

”No, I am,” Wei Yang said.

”You—!” Yue Mei’s wariness spiked again. Her tone turned cold. ”Are you playing games with me? Hmph, the Snake-People Clan need nothing from you, nor do we have anything to offer. We certainly don’t need to trade with you humans.”

”Leave now. Withdraw from our territory, and we won’t hold you accountable for this intrusion.”

”Leave, huh? What a pain...” Wei Yang sighed, shaking his head. ”Looks like we’ll have to do this the hard way.”

Xiao Yan gave a helpless shrug.

Looks like negotiating with the Snake-People Clan is easier said than done.

With the deep grudges between both sides, trust was nearly impossible.

”Hard way? Hah! Do you think I’m afraid of you?” Yue Mei sneered, though her internal energy was already quietly gathering in preparation.

Stall for time!

She could vaguely sense that the opponent’s strength didn’t seem to surpass the Dou Wang level.

As long as he wasn’t a Dou Huang, she had nothing to fear.

She had already used a secret technique to send a distress signal. As long as she could stall long enough, Her Majesty would arrive.

And then... heh.

Wei Yang slowly lifted his head. From beneath the cloak’s shadows, his exposed jawline could be seen. He grinned and said, ”You already sent a signal to Medusa, didn’t you?”

”Wh-what do you mean?” Yue Mei’s heart skipped a beat.

”You’re trying to stall for time, right?”

Wei Yang calmly extended his hand from his wide sleeve. His five fingers spread open slightly, revealing three small, pitch-black fire dragons circling and dancing around in his palm.

”That actually works out perfectly for me.”

The terrifying aura that faintly radiated outward caused Yue Mei, who was a hundred meters away, to suddenly narrow her pupils as her whole body bristled with goosebumps.

Danger!

”As for what I mean, it’s simple. Since you’ve already sent word to Medusa, I’m guessing she’s currently rushing over, right? In that case, your use has shifted from being a messenger... to a bargaining chip.” Wei Yang smiled.

Retreat!

Yue Mei was both shocked and furious. Her body trembled slightly as she tried to step back.

”Too late.” Wei Yang moved.

Swoosh!

A streak of black light flashed across the air, crossing dozens of meters in an instant.

Wei Yang gently pushed his palm forward.

Roar~

Three small fire dragons roared as they shot out, their bodies instantly expanding to over twenty meters in length mid-air, carrying a terrifying aura as they charged toward Yue Mei.

”Not good!”

Reflected in her diamond-shaped pupils were the three massive fire dragons. The frightening heat they emitted made it feel like her skin was going to crack open.

Yue Mei’s pretty face turned cold. Gritting her silver teeth, she abruptly extended her delicate hand. Five streams of dark green energy shot out, intertwining with each other, and finally condensed into five massive energy green serpents that shot forward to meet the rapidly approaching fire dragons.

The green serpents tore through the air like lightning. In the blink of an eye, they collided with the three black fire dragons.

They opened their fanged maws without a hint of fear, viciously biting at the dragons.

Hiss—

Roar—

Five green serpents and three fire dragons tangled and tore at each other in midair.

A terrifying energy wave erupted, spreading out in all directions. The disturbance could be clearly felt even within a hundred-mile radius.

Soon, the five green serpents began to fall into a disadvantage.

Not to mention the might of the Heavenly Flame, the three fire dragons alone—formed using a Low-Level Earth Grade Dou Technique—were far beyond what the five serpents could match.

Thus, in a blink, the three black fire dragons roared and viciously shredded the green serpents apart.

”Ugh!”

Suffering from the backlash, Yue Mei’s spirit was wounded. Her face turned deathly pale, and her internal qi churned chaotically, making her extremely uncomfortable.

However, she had no time to recover or stabilize herself.

Because the three black fire dragons, still retaining more than half their power, had already pounced forward, surrounding her in the center. Three massive dragon heads locked onto her, eyes full of killing intent, as if they could lunge forward at any moment and tear her to pieces.

On their bodies, black flames blazed fiercely, and the surrounding temperature was terrifyingly high.

Trapped within their encirclement, Yue Mei felt as if she was inside a sealed, scalding furnace.

Sweat poured from her body—only to be instantly evaporated by the heat. It felt like her entire being was about to ignite.

”Such terrifying flames—could it be a Heavenly Flame? Or...?” Yue Mei was stricken with fear.

She struggled to form a layer of Dou Qi Armor to resist the scorching heat.

If not for that, even if her body didn’t get ripped apart, her clothes would definitely be reduced to ashes by the heat alone.

And this was without the flames actually touching her—just the ambient heat was this dreadful.

She was certain: these black flames were either a Heavenly Flame, or an extremely high-grade Beast Flame—at least Rank 7!

And the fact that her opponent chose to surround her without striking the killing blow...

”Heh... Trying to use me to threaten Her Majesty? Dream on!” she growled through clenched teeth. With a single thought, the Dou Qi within her body surged violently.

Like a powder keg on the verge of exploding!

However—

”Trying to self-detonate? I didn’t expect you, little snake lady, to have such a fierce temper.”

A calm voice echoed in her ear, laced with a faint trace of admiration.

Then, a heavy strike landed at the back of her neck.

Bang!

Yue Mei groaned softly, her eyes rolled back, and she lost consciousness.

Behind her, Wei Yang calmly withdrew his knife-hand. With a single thought, the three fire dragons dissolved into black flame and flowed back into his body.

Carrying the unconscious Yue Mei, Wei Yang’s figure flickered and reappeared atop the sand dune, where he casually tossed her onto the ground.

Thump!

Her soft body landed on the equally soft sand, kicking up a puff of dust.

Her green serpent tail twitched slightly.

Xiao Yan had witnessed everything from start to finish. Clenching his fists slightly, his heart surged with longing.

”This... is what a real powerhouse looks like!”

But then, his lips twitched slightly.

”So brutal though... Couldn’t he be a bit gentler?”
