Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 146: Chapter 136: Already Numb, Licorice is Effective

Seeing Wang Feng stutter, Qin Haonan smiled and said, ”No need to be nervous. We’re all teammates now!”

”Yes, we all escaped from Dawn Base. Thank goodness the Boss took us in!” Si Youqin stepped forward and said, ”My name is Si Youqin, and I’m temporarily in charge of managing this yacht!”

Then, the others began to introduce themselves.

After they had all introduced themselves, Qin Haonan spoke again. ”There are so many of you, it’s normal not to remember everyone. You’ll get to know them over time. Sister Qin, arrange a room for him and let him take a shower!”

”Okay, come with me!” Si Youqin led him to a room, gave a brief tour, and then left.

When Wang Feng saw how well-equipped the room was, he didn’t even have time to marvel at it all before ducking into the bathroom.

Bathing in the hot water, Wang Feng felt incredibly blissful.

’Looks like my bees have saved me a second time!’

He knew that if he didn’t have those five hives of bees, Peach Blossom Base would never have accepted him.

Over the past three or four months, these bees had kept him alive. Now, because of these very bees, he could live an even better life!

Although he had only just joined Peach Blossom Base, the various wonders of the base and the harmonious, friendly relationships between its members made Wang Feng realize that by joining, his life would only get better and better!

Wang Feng quickly finished his shower and walked out with his dirty clothes.

Si Youqin pointed to the washer-dryer combo on the side and said, ”You can put them in there to wash. You can take them with you as soon as they’re done!”

”Okay!”

At that point, Ren Yuanyang and the others had already moved all the lab supplies to the laboratory.

”Sir, shall we begin the experiment now?” Hua Lingfang asked, a little excited.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”We can indeed begin. Make sure to record all the experimental data properly!”

”Understood. I’ll proceed with the experiment according to the plan we established earlier!” Hua Lingfang replied.

After Ren Yuanyang had decided to experiment with the Evolution Potion, he had discussed a detailed experimental plan with Hua Lingfang.

The plan was to use licorice soup of different concentrations, add it in varying ratios to the semi-finished Evolution Potion, and then inject it into lab mice to observe their reactions.

Because the lab mice had very low body weight, the dosage injected into each one was also relatively small.

The supply of the potion from the Aircraft Carrier Base was also more than enough.

They didn’t have the proper equipment right now, so the experimental data could only be recorded on a phone.

During a previous undercurrent, Peach Blossom Base had managed to salvage a few laptops, but they had been submerged for a long time. They were currently being dried, and after they were fully dry, they would see if they could be powered on and used.

While Hua Lingfang was brewing the licorice soup, Ren Yuanyang was selecting a few strong and healthy lab mice to enhance. The focus of the enhancement was, naturally, their reproductive ability!

’He was worried they might not have enough lab mice!’

After continuously enhancing five queen bees and several lab mice, Ren Yuanyang’s Mental Energy was depleted again. Before leaving the lab, he instructed, ”Elder Hua, if you inject the Evolutionary Potion, you must keep a close watch at all times. Prevent the lab mice from escaping everywhere after they evolve!”

”Understood. I’ll stay in the lab during the experiment!” Hua Lingfang nodded.

”Thank you for your hard work.”

”What’s so hard about it? It’s not like it’s heavy labor!”

”I’ll head back first, then!” Ren Yuanyang got up and left the lab.

Having nearly exhausted his Mental Energy, Ren Yuanyang returned to his room and collapsed into sleep.

Meanwhile, Qin Haonan had brought Wang Feng down from the yacht and back to Wang Feng’s new quarters.

”It really is so much calmer inside the Banyan Forest!” Wang Feng exclaimed again.

Qin Haonan nodded slightly and reminded him again, ”You can move around the vicinity, but you are not to enter the center of the Banyan Forest. Understand?”

Wang Feng immediately replied, ”Okay. Can I head toward the outer perimeter?”

”Of course, but be careful. The winds are stronger on the perimeter!” Qin Haonan replied.

”I understand. Thank you, Sir, for bringing me into Peach Blossom Base!” Wang Feng said gratefully.

”Alright, if you want to thank someone, thank our Boss. I’m going back to rest!” Qin Haonan waved his hand and left.

Wang Feng returned to his bamboo house and lay down on the steady bamboo bed, but for a moment, he found he couldn’t fall asleep.

He had been sleeping on a bamboo raft that was constantly rocking, and he seemed to have grown accustomed to the motion. Now that it was suddenly gone, he felt a bit unsettled.

He sat up again, put on his raincoat and rain boots, and headed outside.

Since he couldn’t go deeper inside, Wang Feng walked toward the perimeter. The paths within the Banyan Forest were lined with Fluorescent Cacti, illuminating the road brightly.

He curiously leaned in to observe one of the cacti, clicking his tongue in amazement. He had never seen a cactus that could glow, let alone one that emitted such a strong light!

Wandering along the path around the perimeter, Wang Feng saw several farming plots. Many of the fruits and vegetables were in bloom, and the bees he had brought were diligently working among the flowers.

While waiting for his clothes to dry on the yacht earlier, Qin Haonan had given him a basic rundown of the base, and Wang Feng had been so shocked he’d gone numb.

’All the plants could stand upright on the calm water’s surface after evolving!’

’There were plants that could produce diesel and gasoline!’

’The growth cycles for crops, fruits, and vegetables were absurdly short!’

...

And all these miraculous aspects of Peach Blossom Base were thanks to Ren Yuanyang.

Wang Feng knew he had joined an incredible base!

The wind on the perimeter was too strong, so Wang Feng turned and headed back. ’I need to rest well and work hard. I hope I can stay at this base forever!’

The night passed without incident. At five in the morning the next day, the first thing Ren Yuanyang did after waking up was rush to the lab.

Hua Lingfang was, surprisingly, still brewing the licorice soup!

”What were the results of last night’s experiment?” Ren Yuanyang asked.

”All the lab mice injected with the mixed potion died, but they all lasted longer than the mice injected with the semi-finished Evolution Potion!” Hua Lingfang had been up all night, but he was still full of vigor.

’Another research fanatic!’

”In other words, the licorice soup really can mitigate the harshness of the Purification Potion!” Ren Yuanyang summarized.

”Correct. But we still need to continue experimenting with the concentration and ratios!” Hua Lingfang nodded emphatically.

”This is good news!” Ren Yuanyang nodded. ”However, you need to get some rest first.”

Hua Lingfang paused for a moment, then shook his head. ”Sir, I’m not tired!”

”You will rest even if you’re not tired. That’s an order.” Ren Yuanyang’s tone left no room for argument.

Hua Lingfang could only reply with a sigh, ”Alright, then. I’ll go back and sleep for three hours. That should be acceptable, right?”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”That’s fine. From now on, try to schedule the experiments during the day. Don’t do them at night!”

”Yes, Sir!” Hua Lingfang tidied up a bit and left the lab.

Ren Yuanyang and the others went through a routine practice of the Five Animals Qigong. Xin Wan and Lu Jiamei went to prepare breakfast, while Qin Haonan came up to Ren Yuanyang, pulled a small packet out of his pocket, and handed it over.

”I forgot to give you this yesterday! It’s the seed from the plant I was telling you about!”

”Yesterday, I was so preoccupied with the sealing and the Evolution Potion that I forgot about this too!” Ren Yuanyang said with a laugh as he took it.

”Boss, what kind of seed is this, anyway?” Qin Haonan asked curiously.

”This is good stuff. It’s the seed of a Sound Box Tree. Another plant weapon!” Ren Yuanyang explained with a smile.

Although Qin Haonan didn’t know what a Sound Box was, he knew about plant weapons. Anything that could be called a plant weapon was bound to be extraordinarily powerful.
