Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 124: Chapter 123: Appointing a Manager, All in Maid Outfits

”The Dripping Lotus outside purifies 1,280 milliliters per minute, and this one does 2,560!” Ren Yuanyang told Jin Ziyu the purification speeds of the two plants.

The Dripping Lotus outside was enhanced eight times for purification speed and once for root length, so its roots could reach the seawater. As for the one in the main hall, all nine of its enhancements went to purification speed.

”Over two liters a minute!” Jin Ziyu’s ”wise” eyes widened. Then she asked in confusion, ”Then why don’t we put the faster one outside?”

Ren Yuanyang rolled his eyes. ”Are its roots long enough?”

”Oh!” Jin Ziyu finally understood.

Qin Haonan was completely speechless. ’How did she become an Evolver with reactions this slow?’

Just then, Si Youqin, who had gone to check the water tank, returned. She said excitedly, ”Boss, the water tank is still very clean! It doesn’t need to be washed. We can use it directly!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly, glanced at the time on his phone, and gave his orders. ”In two hours, everyone is to take a shower. We don’t have much water yet, so be sure to conserve it. Just a quick rinse. There are clothes in the lowest deck cabin. Find something suitable for work and get changed.”

At his words, everyone grew excited. They all rose, bowed, and replied in unison, ”Thank you, Boss!”

”Si Youqin?” Ren Yuanyang called.

Si Youqin immediately came over and answered respectfully.

”I hear you were originally part of the logistics staff on this yacht?” Ren Yuanyang had just heard this from Lu Jiamei.

”Yes, Boss!”

”In that case, you’ll be in charge of managing this yacht from now on, including all personnel. Future tasks will be assigned directly to you for delegation. If you need anything, you can submit a request to Jiamei,” Ren Yuanyang appointed.

Si Youqin’s eyes widened. She never imagined the Boss would put her in charge of the yacht!

’After all, there’s another Evolver on the yacht. It shouldn’t be my turn, no matter what!’

”What? You don’t want the management position?” Ren Yuanyang looked up at Si Youqin.

Si Youqin shook her head immediately. ”No, I’m willing. It’s just... about Ziyu...”

Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then immediately shook his head.

’Let Jin Ziyu be the manager? Yeah, right. Forget it.’

Before Ren Yuanyang could speak, Jin Ziyu piped up, ”I don’t want to be in charge. It’s too much work!”

”I could tell she didn’t want the job, which is why I’m asking you. Besides, you’re more familiar with this yacht anyway,” Ren Yuanyang said, playing along with Jin Ziyu’s comment.

”Then I humbly accept,” Si Youqin agreed.

Ren Yuanyang looked at the others and said, ”From now on, you’ll answer to her. If you have any objections, you can give feedback to Lu Jiamei or Qin Haonan. Understood?”

”Understood!” the others replied in unison.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly, then instructed Si Youqin, ”The Dripping Lotus outside can only purify a little over 150 liters in two hours. For this many people to shower, that’s probably not enough. Have some people pour the water purified by the Dripping Lotus in the main hall into the water tank through the inspection port. Make sure to clean the buckets first. Don’t let any dirt get in.”

Si Youqin was taken aback for a moment; she had never done anything like this before. She quickly nodded in acknowledgment, then turned and called the others to start carrying the water.

There were a lot of them, so it was quite easy for two people to carry a single bucket.

Watching them begin to clean the buckets, Ren Yuanyang stood up to leave. The yacht was still swaying a bit; it was much more stable back in the Banyan Forest.

Jin Ziyu suddenly came up to him, making Qin Haonan tense up for a second. But all she did was ask, ”Boss, what should I be doing?”

”Just work with the others,” Ren Yuanyang replied. ”However, every so often, you’ll need to cover the Fluorescent Cactus in that metal box outside. The Dripping Lotus can’t be exposed to light constantly.”

”Okay, I get it!” Jin Ziyu nodded, then turned to join the others in carrying water.

Ren Yuanyang and the other two walked deeper into the Banyan Forest.

”Boss, that Gold-Type Evolver is incredibly strong,” Lu Jiamei remarked with a hint of awe.

Qin Haonan agreed. ”Yeah, metal is like clay in her hands. She can shape it however she wants.”

Ren Yuanyang was also impressed. ”Once you become an Evolver and gain a Superpower, your chances of survival increase dramatically. Recruiting a Gold-Type Evolver now is going to be incredibly useful for our base’s development.”

”Exactly,” Qin Haonan said with a smile. ”From now on, we won’t need the Aircraft Carrier Base to make the tools Elder Hua needs. We can just have Jin Ziyu do it!”

Lu Jiamei nodded but then added with some concern, ”But Jin Ziyu is also a wildcard.”

”She seems like she’s got a screw loose. I doubt she’d be a problem,” Qin Haonan replied with a frown.

”I’m just worried she’s putting on an act for us,” Lu Jiamei said, shaking her head.

”With those ’intelligent’ eyes of hers? I don’t think it’s an act,” Qin Haonan said.

”Whether she’s acting or not, she should at least know that her best chance of survival is by sticking with our base. That’s enough,” Ren Yuanyang said. ”At dinner tonight, explain our base’s situation to them. They need to understand that we are the ones in charge here.”

Lu Jiamei and Qin Haonan both nodded.

「Two hours passed quickly.」 Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan arrived on the yacht with food ingredients.

Si Youqin saw them and immediately hurried over to greet them.

”Ladies, are there any instructions?”

Lu Jiamei waved her hand. ”You all can start showering now. Anyone who finishes should come help in the kitchen. To welcome you to the base today, the Boss prepared a lot of food, so everyone needs to pitch in.”

Si Youqin nodded immediately and told everyone to hurry and take their showers.

Ren Yuanyang had said the largest suite was to be left for him, so they could only use the showers in the other nine rooms.

They had also already found clothes to change into: a matching set of maid uniforms. This was something they had all agreed on—except for Jin Ziyu, of course, who had chosen something else.

As the hot water sprayed from the showerheads, they felt the warm stream wash over them. It cleansed not only the filth from their bodies but also the grime of their pasts. The moment they stepped out of the showers, they were reborn.

Si Youqin and the others didn’t dare to waste time, and they certainly didn’t dare to waste water. They rinsed off quickly, tidied their appearances, and hurried to the kitchen.

Seeing them all in matching maid uniforms, Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan were completely stunned.

”Ladies, are these outfits... okay?” Si Youqin asked cautiously, noticing their stunned expressions.

”Of course!” Lu Jiamei finally snapped out of it. ’Are all rich people this kinky?’ she muttered to herself.

Clearly, these uniforms were intended for the service staff on the luxury yacht.

”Is there anything we can help with?” Si Youqin asked.

Xin Wan pointed to the fruits and vegetables on the counter. ”You can wash these. Peel the ones that need peeling.”

Following Xin Wan’s finger, Si Youqin and the others saw that the kitchen island was laden with an abundance of fruits and vegetables.

Everyone froze.

When Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan had arrived, they’d been carrying all the ingredients in bags, so the women hadn’t seen exactly what they had brought.

Seeing so many fresh fruits and vegetables now, they felt like they were dreaming.
