Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 143: Chapter 134: True Love Honeybees, New Fruit: Honey Peaches (Part 3)

”Yeah, it’s been a while since we’ve had any fruit. Let’s cut one up for everyone to share.”

”So, should we help spread the word for Peach Blossom Base?”

”I think that’s a great idea!”

”Alright, let’s help them spread the word.”

Soon after, someone posted a picture of honey peaches in the regional channel with a caption: ”A huge thanks to Peach Blossom Base! We traded plant seeds for a pound of honey peaches!”

The other survivors were instantly jealous when they saw the message.

”Honey peaches? Peach Blossom Base has more new fruit?”

”Damn, I missed out. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have traded with Peach Blossom Base so soon. If I had waited, I could’ve gotten honey peaches. They’re my favorite!”

”It’s certain now. Peach Blossom Base must have a way to accelerate the growth of all sorts of plants!”

”You’re just saying they have a Wood-Type Evolver, aren’t you?”

”Not necessarily. The abilities of the Wood-Type Evolvers we know of aren’t that powerful.”

”How would you know that Wood-Type Evolvers aren’t powerful?”

”Because I’m a goddamn Wood-Type Evolver. To accelerate plant growth, you need to use a huge amount of Mental Energy, and there’s just never enough. Besides, the amount of Mental Energy needed is different for each stage of the plant’s life. It’s especially draining during the flowering and fruiting period. If you don’t have enough Mental Energy, you can’t accelerate it at all! Right now, all I can do is make plants grow a bit faster. The flowering and fruiting still happen at the normal speed.”

”Oh, I see! The poster above is an Evolver expert. My respects!”

”In that case, you should focus on accelerating leafy greens instead of plants that need to flower and bear fruit.”

”That’s true in theory, but first I’d need seeds for those leafy greens! Unfortunately, I don’t have any.”

”Besides, you need the right conditions to plant anything. Are we supposed to do it while floating flat on our backs in the water?”

”It’s just too difficult to farm these days! This just goes to show how incredible Peach Blossom Base really is.”

”Of course. The fact that they can pinpoint the start of the dark tide is enough to prove they’re something special. Even the Aircraft Carrier Base can’t do that yet!”

”It’s about to get dark. Is a third dark tide coming? @Taoyuan Yang, what’s the word from the expert?”

Seeing he’d been tagged, Ren Yuanyang replied: ”I don’t know if a third dark tide will come either right now, but I’ll be keeping a close watch on my end. If it does, I’ll let everyone know immediately!”

”Thanks, boss!” the other survivors chimed in.

Inside the Aircraft Carrier Base, Long Zhan immediately sent a message to the captains’ group chat: ”Peach Blossom Base is trading new fruit again? We gave them so many lab supplies, and they didn’t offer to trade some honey peaches with us?”

Wang Jun saw the message and smiled faintly. ”Peach Blossom Base didn’t offer to trade fruit with us, no. They just gave us some directly!”

”Gave? You’re saying he gave us some honey peaches as part of this trade?” Ji Yizhi asked, surprised.

”Yes. According to the report from the forward trade team, he gave us thirty pounds of honey peaches and ninety pounds of Cherry Tomatoes as a gift.” Wang Jun nodded. ”He probably considered that we have three fleets, since these amounts can be divided evenly.”

”That’s fantastic! Peach Blossom Base is so generous!” Long Zhan said with a loud laugh.

Ji Yizhi nodded slightly and continued to ask, ”I wonder, are these honey peaches, like the Cherry Tomatoes, ripened by a Wood-Type Evolver rather than grown from an Evolutionary Plant?”

Wang Jun shook his head. ”That I don’t know. We’ll have to run some tests after the shipment arrives.”

They all knew Wood-Type Evolvers had limited abilities at present, so they still held out hope that these honey peaches had come from Evolutionary Plants.
