Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 74: Chapter 73: Aircraft Carrier Base, Arrived at the Location

This time, Qin Haonan took Xin Wan’s custom speedboat out for the trade.

Although it was a bit smaller, it was much faster!

The extra speed would make it easier for Qin Haonan to shake off any potential tails!

Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan’s belongings, along with their kitchenware, had all been moved to the military speedboat they had captured earlier.

They would need this faster speedboat for future missions, so they’d gone ahead and moved their things out, freeing up the interior space.

After Qin Haonan departed with the prepared supplies, Ren Yuanyang noticed Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan looked tired. He smiled and said, ”You two go get some rest! I’ll keep an eye on things!”

”Alright, just call us if anything happens!” Lu Jiamei responded, and Xin Wan nodded in agreement.

The two women returned to the speedboat and lay down.

”Feels like I’m back in a cradle!” Xin Wan remarked, trying to make light of the situation as the speedboat rocked.

Lu Jiamei replied with a sigh, ”We’ll all have to get used to this rocking. After all, the wind is picking up!”

”The Banyan Forest up ahead should calm the waves a bit, right?” Xin Wan said, her tone uncertain.

”It definitely will. And even if it doesn’t calm the waves, we can always sleep in the trees. Look how sturdy those Iron Melon and Diesel Trees are!” Lu Jiamei, on the other hand, was full of confidence.

Hearing this, Xin Wan paused for a moment, then nodded.

Meanwhile, Ren Yuanyang had already completed a patrol and returned to the top of the shipping container.

The rain had already lightened considerably, and sheltering under the dense banyan canopy, he could barely feel it at all!

Ren Yuanyang took out his phone and opened the regional channel.

”The Dragon Country’s carrier fleet kicks ass!”

”They’re incredible! To think they defeated the combined carrier fleets of Lvzhi Country and the Sea Eagle Country!”

”I’ve been saying all along how powerful the Dragon Country’s carrier fleet is. Someone was arguing with me before, saying their combat strength was no match for the Sea Eagle Country. Now that the facts are staring you in the face, anyone still want to argue?”

”I’m not trying to argue, just stating facts. The situation now is completely different. Who knows if the satellites are even functional anymore. Even if they are, they’ve got to be affected. So I’m guessing our carrier fleet only won because they had superior numbers!”

”Whether the satellites are working or not, everyone’s affected, not just the Sea Eagle Country. Besides, we have the Dongfeng Express. Not many anti-missile systems can intercept that unique trajectory!”

”There’s no point arguing about it. The fact is our carrier fleet won!”

Just then, Wang Jun posted another message in the regional channel.

”After discussions between the Liaoyuan, Lu Ban, and Jianfu carrier fleets, we have decided to establish a survivor base in the nearby Second-level Wind Sea Region. The base will be jointly managed by all three fleets. All nearby survivors are welcome to come for refuge or to trade for supplies. The coordinates are...”

Upon seeing this message, the regional channel immediately erupted!

”A base formed by all the Dragon Country’s carrier fleets? It’s bound to be legit!”

”What are we waiting for? Let’s go!”

”Dammit, I just paddled all the way over here, and now I have to rush off somewhere else!”

”Even if it kills me, I’m getting to that Aircraft Carrier Base!”

Ren Yuanyang was also taken aback by Wang Jun’s message. ’He hadn’t expected the three carrier fleets to reach a consensus so quickly.’

In truth, this was something they had already discussed before the three carrier fleets even set out.

In the current situation, the strong had to unite and stick together to ensure long-term survival!

The trouble stirred up by the Feixiang Aircraft Carrier just gave them the perfect opportunity to assemble!

The establishment of the Aircraft Carrier Base also provided Ren Yuanyang with a new venue for trade.

’But I can’t just use it freely,’ he thought. ’Wang Jun and his people are definitely monitoring that Aircraft Carrier Base from every angle. If I expose too much, I’ll definitely end up on their radar!’

’Trading for a few small saplings or animals every now and then should be fine, though!’

After announcing the formation of the Aircraft Carrier Base, Wang Jun and the others began discussing the division of their spoils and the trade with Ren Yuanyang.

”Since this was a joint operation, we should just split the spoils evenly,” Long Zhan proposed.

”I have no objection, but the ships themselves aren’t easy to divide evenly!” Ji Yizhi’s brow furrowed. ”Some were even damaged by our missiles, and we can’t exactly split the Feixiang carrier.”

”That’s actually an easy problem to solve. We just won’t divide the ships that are hard to split. When the survivors arrive, they’ll need activity space anyway. We’ll just repurpose these vessels as various communal areas under our joint management!” Wang Jun replied with a smile.

”That’s a good idea,” Ji Yizhi nodded slightly.

”Let’s divide the prisoners, too. We need test subjects anyway,” Long Zhan continued.

”Of course. No need to listen to any of their crap about humanitarianism!” Wang Jun readily agreed.

”They can’t even be considered human anymore, so we don’t need to worry about being humane!” Ji Yizhi added with a cold sneer.

”Now that we’ve captured the Feixiang, should we still go through with the trade with Tattooed Haonan?” Long Zhan asked.

”Yes!” Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi said in unison.

Long Zhan was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled. ”You two are certainly in sync!”

Ji Yizhi shrugged. ”The more channels we have for gathering intelligence, the higher its accuracy.”

”Are you worried they altered the research data on the Feixiang Aircraft Carrier when they surrendered?” Long Zhan asked after a pause.

”We can’t rule out that possibility,” Ji Yizhi replied.

Wang Jun smiled and shook his head. ”You’re both overthinking it. Our people destroyed their server room when they escaped the Feixiang. The research data hadn’t been backed up in time, which is why our only option is to trade with Tattooed Haonan!”

When he was communicating with Ren Yuanyang earlier, Wang Jun had projected the image of an honorable man who would uphold their agreement. Who would have thought it was because the data was no longer on the Feixiang.

No wonder Yamamoto Goro had given his men a do-or-die order: disregard the test subjects’ lives, but they absolutely had to bring back the data.

”So that’s how it is. Did he say when he wants to make the trade?” Ji Yizhi asked.

”Eight in the morning. I’m waiting for a notification on the exact location,” Wang Jun replied. ”He’s being very cautious, demanding that we send only a single speedboat to the trade point!”

”But we need to verify the Evolution Potion sample, and a single speedboat can’t even carry the lab equipment!” Ji Yizhi’s brow tightened.

”He’s not asking for much. As long as we can confirm the data is correct, we don’t need to get hung up on the sample,” Wang Jun said magnanimously, his generosity clearly fueled by their recent, fruitful victory.

”That’s true. Have the research team on standby. The moment he sends the data, they need to start verification immediately,” Ji Yizhi nodded.

Time passed slowly, and by four-thirty, Qin Haonan had reached the designated location.

”Deploy the inflatable dinghy. You can send Wang Jun the message now,” Ren Yuanyang instructed.

”Roger that, Boss!” Qin Haonan carefully wrapped a Purification Potion, placed it in the dinghy, and then paid out the entire towline—a full 250 meters!

Then he sent the coordinates to Wang Jun.

The inflatable dinghy drifted more than two hundred meters away from the speedboat, quietly awaiting the arrival of Wang Jun’s team!
