Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: No Need to Worry, A United Front

Military speedboats were incredibly fast, but the one they’d captured was towing several other vessels and had to prevent a shipping container from sliding off the duckweed. All that weight naturally dragged down its speed.

If the enemy’s positioning system was still working, they would have been caught by now.

”My worry is that they couldn’t locate us right away. That’s why it’s taken them so long to come after us!” Lu Jiamei replied with a frown.

”Mm, let’s head over to Qin Haonan’s boat first!” Ren Yuanyang said, taking the lead and jumping to the speedboat in front.

Lu Jiamei followed close behind.

Entering the speedboat’s cockpit, they saw Qin Haonan and Xin Wan looking worried. Ren Yuanyang comforted them, ”Don’t be so pessimistic. We handled the last one just fine. Now that we have firearms and plant-based weapons, what’s there to fear if they send another?”

Qin Haonan was slightly taken aback, then immediately chimed in, ”That’s right! We weren’t scared before when we didn’t have guns, so what the hell is there to be afraid of now? I hope they hurry up and get here. Grandpa wants to kill some more of those devils!”

Ren Yuanyang was speechless. ”How old are you, calling yourself ’Grandpa’?”

”In front of those devils, we’re their ancestors! Calling myself ’Grandpa’ is selling myself short!” Qin Haonan boasted.

”Alright, how much fuel do we have left?” Ren Yuanyang asked.

Qin Haonan immediately glanced at the gauge and replied, ”About half a tank!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and ordered, ”Start slowing down.”

”Huh? Aren’t we going to run a little further?” Qin Haonan asked, stunned.

”Didn’t you say you wanted to fight those devils? I have to give you the opportunity!” Ren Yuanyang shot him a look and replied.

Qin Haonan scratched his head. ”If we stop here, won’t we get surrounded? There are only a few of us. We should be using guerrilla tactics!”

Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile, ”Getting the container moving is easy, but slowing it down is a bit tricky. Even if we start decelerating now, we’ll still cover a good bit of distance.”

Qin Haonan paused, then nodded. ”Understood, Boss. I’ll start slowing down gradually.”

”Lu Jiamei, attach all the boats to the container to help it slow down!” Ren Yuanyang continued to give orders.

”Yes!” Lu Jiamei immediately went outside.

Ren Yuanyang went out onto the speedboat’s deck and continued to manipulate the duckweed, keeping the container from sliding into the water.

After another twenty minutes of this, they finally came to a stop.

”Lu Jiamei, do you know how to use an automatic rifle?” Ren Yuanyang asked after stabilizing the container.

Lu Jiamei immediately replied, ”I’ve fired one a few times, but I’m not an expert!”

”Then get those two familiar with them,” Ren Yuanyang ordered.

Even though they weren’t afraid of the team from the Feixiang Aircraft Carrier catching up, they still needed to make the proper preparations.

This was a case of ’despise the enemy strategically, but respect them tactically’.

Hearing Ren Yuanyang’s words, Qin Haonan got excited. He never thought he’d get the chance to handle an automatic rifle!

Just then, Qin Haonan’s phone suddenly rang.

The other three all looked at him. Qin Haonan immediately picked up his phone and opened the app right in front of them.

”Hello, this is Captain Wang Jun of the Jianfu Aircraft Carrier. Is that video you posted earlier real?”

”The Jianfu! That’s one of our Dragon Country’s three great aircraft carriers!” Lu Jiamei said in surprise. ”The captain of an aircraft carrier is contacting you directly?”

Qin Haonan spread his hands to show he was just as surprised, then looked at Ren Yuanyang. ”Boss, how should I respond?”

”Answer truthfully and see what else he asks,” Ren Yuanyang said, having a good idea of the other party’s intentions.

Qin Haonan nodded and replied, ”Of course it’s real!”

”That damn Feixiang Aircraft Carrier! I’ve already contacted our other two carrier fleets. They’re going to converge and drive the Feixiang out of our Dragon Country’s territory!”

Ren Yuanyang was a little surprised to see Wang Jun’s reply. Mobilizing an aircraft carrier fleet would burn through an immense amount of resources.

The problem was, there was currently no way to resupply.

Between Dragon Country and Lvzhi Country, it was a blood feud.

As long as you dared to come, they would overcome any obstacle to crush you.

”Can we keep the Feixiang here?” Ren Yuanyang asked, with Qin Haonan acting as his mouthpiece.

”It’ll be tough. The fact that they’re acting so brazenly means their master is backing them up,” Wang Jun replied. ”That’s why I called in the other two carrier fleets.”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and voiced his concern. ”Are you really going to go and drive the Feixiang away?”

”Our internal rivalries are our own business. We can bash each other’s heads in, and it’s fine. No matter who wins or loses, the ships still belong to the Dragon Country People. But we won’t stand for outsiders trying to bully us!” Wang Jun replied with certainty. ”I’ll stake my life on it—they will come. We’ve already shared our positions with each other. Everyone is moving toward the coordinates where the Feixiang was exposed!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly, then abruptly changed the subject. ”Are you sharing your positions via satellite GPS coordinates?”

Seeing this question, Wang Jun paused for a moment, then immediately replied, ”No, it’s through that location app that suddenly appeared on our phones. We completely lost contact with our satellites three days ago. All our previous satellite communication and positioning systems are down!”

”Could Sea Eagle Country’s satellites still be operational?” Ren Yuanyang pressed.

”Impossible. Dragon Country’s satellite technology has already surpassed theirs. If ours are down, there’s no way theirs are still working!” Wang Jun was absolutely certain. ”Our intelligence confirms this as well.”

’Even at a time like this, they still have spies in Sea Eagle Country?’ Ren Yuanyang was taken aback.

”Before the flood, Sea Eagle Country had four astronauts stranded in space, unable to return. They were even preparing to ask us, Dragon Country, for help, but they couldn’t bring themselves to ask! Given the current situation, they’re probably never coming down,” Wang Jun added.

With that, Ren Yuanyang was completely at ease.

Beside him, the joy on the faces of Lu Jiamei and the other two was plain to see.

Seeing that Ren Yuanyang hadn’t responded, Wang Jun paused for a moment before continuing, ”I wonder, did the survivor who escaped provide any intelligence on the Feixiang? Know your enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat.”

Seeing his message, Lu Jiamei spoke up. ”So that’s the real reason he contacted Haonan!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and instructed Qin Haonan, ”Tell him the survivor brought out experimental data and a test sample of the Evolution Potion, but no other information about the Feixiang.”

”Huh? We’re going to tell him that?” Qin Haonan was stunned, finding it hard to believe.

”Yes. This information is useless in our hands. Only with their scientific resources can its true value be realized,” Ren Yuanyang explained. ”If they actually manage to develop the Evolution Potion, we could benefit from it too!”

”If they do develop it, there’s no guarantee they’ll give it to us,” Lu Jiamei said, shaking her head.

”I believe they will,” Ren Yuanyang said, seeming to have thought of something. Then he added with a smile, ”And even if they don’t give it to us, we haven’t lost anything, have we?”

Lu Jiamei was taken aback for a moment, then nodded.

’He’s right. They could give them a copy of the data, and their group would still have the original. As for those three Evolution Potions with their extremely low success rate, no one would dare use them anyway. They were completely useless in their hands. How could throwing away something useless be considered a loss?’

”So we’re just going to give them the experimental data and the potion?” Qin Haonan confirmed again.

”Give?” Ren Yuanyang smiled and shook his head. ”Of course we’re not just ’giving’ it to them.”
