Chapter 485: Chapter 480: What on Earth Do You Want to Do?

”You’re not referring to your period, are you?” Lin Zifeng exclaimed with his mouth agape. Just moments ago, Nangong Bing had mentioned he was in pain below. Could it be that his aunt had arrived?

”Yeah.” Nangong Bing grimaced, her bright, clever eyes shimmering with pain yet stirring sympathy, making one unable to resist holding him close and offering affection.

”Is it serious? Can I, um, help you with anything?”

Although Lin Zifeng usually appeared thick-skinned, he was actually at a loss when it came to a woman’s menstrual cramps.

”I don’t need your help.” Nangong Bing was clutching her abdomen, his face as pale as a sheet.

”What’s wrong with you, being so finicky at a time like this!” Lin Zifeng didn’t care what kind of mood she was in; seeing her pain from menstrual cramps sweating down her pretty face, it seemed she was really suffering.

”Lin Zifeng!” Nangong Bing suddenly called out to him, but soon the pain in his abdomen surged again, leaving Nangong Bing without the energy to yell any longer. A woman’s menstrual pains could easily be triggered by stress or irregular living habits.

And the man before her was all seriousness, completely ignoring her scolding and instead, took a set of clothes from the wardrobe, draped it over her, and without a second thought, picked her up and headed outside.

At that moment, Nangong Bing’s eyes grew complicated.

Looking at the man before her, his face stern with determination, Nangong Bing’s heart couldn’t help but feel a small surge of emotion.

Regardless of how much Nangong Bing scolded, Lin Zifeng was determined to take her to the hospital because nothing was more important than her health.

As a man, he could be a bit sleazy or lecherous at times, but he would never let his woman suffer the slightest harm; that had always been Lin Zifeng’s creed.

”Lin Zifeng!”

It wasn’t until Lin Zifeng was almost carrying Nangong Bing to the living room that she managed to muster a bit of strength to weakly exclaim.

”Whether you’re scolding or hating me right now, I’m taking you to the hospital regardless. Anything else, we can discuss once you get better. I don’t want to see you suffer any adverse consequences from menstrual pain, even if it means you’ll hate me.”

Lin Zifeng said sternly.

Suddenly, Nangong Bing’s expression froze, her gaze fixated on the man who held her, stunned by his unyielding dark eyes, hardly able to believe it was really Lin Zifeng!

”Oh, actually, I just wanted to ask if you could wait for me to get dressed before taking me to the hospital?” Nangong Bing softly spoke, her beautiful eyes wavering.

”Ah, uh...!” This time it was Lin Zifeng’s turn to want to burst into tears. It turned out he had been overthinking things...

Seeing Lin Zifeng carefully set her down, Nangong Bing’s shy face momentarily seemed as if it was sprinkled with dew, trying her best not to look directly at him.

Meanwhile, Lin Zifeng just chuckled, touching his nose and remained silent.

”Lin, Lin Zifeng, I, I’m ready.” After getting dressed and seeing no response from him for a while, Nangong Bing couldn’t help but gently nudge him.

She was so shy inside that she didn’t even know where to put her head.

”Oh.” Lin Zifeng nodded.

To avoid embarrassing Nangong Bing and himself alike.

Lin Zifeng tried not to look at her.

But without paying much attention, the moment he reached out to hold her, his hands were a hair’s breadth from touching Nangong Bing’s chest.

Frightened, Nangong Bing stepped back several paces, her face ashen.

Her gaze fixed on him like a volcano ready to erupt.

”Um... I’m saying I didn’t do it on purpose. You believe me, don’t you?”

”What are you still standing there for? Aren’t you going to carry me?” Nangong Bing, flush as a peach blossom, glanced sideways at him.

This guy then smiled and promptly scooped Nangong Bing up into his arms.

...

Only after delivering the beauty in his arms to the hospital did Lin Zifeng finally let out a sigh of relief.

On the way, Nangong Bing had several bouts of menstrual cramps, but thankfully, they hadn’t led to any severe consequences, otherwise, he would have been a real criminal.

It was only then that a young, pretty nurse came out of the ward, and Lin Zifeng approached her.

”Nurse, she’s alright now, isn’t she?” Lin Zifeng asked anxiously.

”The patient is fine now, but who are you to her?” the nurse asked. To bring a woman suffering from menstrual pain to the hospital pointed to a significant relationship. Most importantly, when the nurse had asked who the man who brought her was, Nangong Bing claimed not to know him!

”I, I’m her husband,” Lin Zifeng hesitated.

”Husband?” The nurse eyed him, skeptical: ”You don’t look it?”

”Uh, you can tell whether I’m her husband or not just by looking?” Lin Zifeng touched his nose.

”But the patient just said she doesn’t know you. Since when did you become her husband?” the nurse asked with a frown of disbelief.

”Hey, I mean miss, is this hospital for treating illnesses or checking personal backgrounds? Do you need to verify whether I’m her husband? Aren’t you being a bit too interfering?” Lin Zifeng retorted with a cold laugh.

It wasn’t that he had a bad temper, but the nurse’s scrutinizing gaze did indeed seem a bit off, almost as if she was treating Lin Zifeng like a thug.

”I, I’m just trying to understand your relationship with the patient, there’s no need to be so aggressive,” the nurse blurted out with a flush in her neck. Being a new intern at the hospital, freshly graduated from college, she was naturally curious about everything, especially after seeing Nangong Bing’s beauty and charisma, and then taking another look at Lin Zifeng, she felt the two were not even comparable.

”Me, aggressive?” Lin Zifeng was exasperated, ”How was I aggressive? I was just honestly answering your question. Look here, madam, that was a bit of a low blow.”

”You! Who are you calling madam? Do I look that old to you?”

”What do you think?” Lin Zifeng said, eyeing her meaningfully.

”You! You’re the old one! You are! Humph!”
